Nugget Markets

Prices are way high, I actually watched a rat one day run under the racks near the soap and medicine section, perhaps the store is not that clean. Creepy security people in the parking lot. My wife and I have stopped buying their fish because it is not fresh (smells bad), actually Otto's is the best in town for fish or if you want exactly the same quality pay less at the Bel Air down the street. Lets face it, this is a real review, Nugget prices are the highest in town, the service at the Florin Road store has gone down hill very fast not sure why. Nugget tries to look like an up scale store but they are actually not any better than any other store in town, if you want to save money and get exactly the same or better quality go to a different store, trust me on that. Also, keep in mind the 5 star reviews are written by the store staff and not real people. If you must go to a Nugget store try the one on Elk Grove it looks nice, the one on Florin is a dump. Just take a look around the holidays you will find that Raley's, Bel Air and Safeway are packed with customers and Nugget is not, the reason is the prices, people that buy real food do not buy at Nugget, it cost way to much for the same food you can get anywhere else. I am being honest here, Nugget at best is average, they try to have fancy displays and things for decorations but keep in mind that they also have very high prices. What do you want in a store, decorations you pay for or good food you pay less for. Don't let them take your hard earned cash for basically nothing special.

This is the best shopping in South Sacramento. Nugget market really makes the grocery shopping experience a pleasant one. The store atmosphere is lovely, clean, bright and actually kind of luxurious. The selection of natural hair and skin care products is rivaled only by the natural food stores. This is also the only place to still sell seeded watermelon (a favorite of mine). The produce people will help you pick out the best melons. The meat counter folks will make reccomendations based on your preference. The wine/beer people can reccomend selections based on your criteria. Every one who works here is really helpful. I don't find the prices on most standard items to be more expensive than other full service grocery stores, but this is definitely not the cheapest place in town to shop at.

Every time I go in here I find something new or exotic. I love the different varieties that they carry here, they have one aisle that is dedicated to various kinds of cheeses! For a cheese lover that's heaven to me. My next favorite is the bakery, where they have the best desserts, my favorite is the creme brulee, I never leave the store without one. Customer service there is top notch, I'll always be a faithful customer!

My 30th birthday was wonderful other then the place that I was going to have my party at had no power for 4 days and I was devastated. We picked up my cake and they had been so wonderful. They even got on the loud speaker and wished me Happy Birthday. The staff at the bakers was so wonderful. We had the cake and everyone has been talking about it ever since. The cake was so nice and the decorations had elegance to it. I recommend this store for all your needs. You may pay a little more however you are in your Hollywood grocery store. You feel like a star. Please rush out to the Nugget near you and experience what I did. Lets just say that it make my 30th Birthday bash.

This place is top of the line grocery store - and the prices are not all that high. The ambience when you first walk make you think expersive, but it is not. The staff is very helpful - walk you to the product if you don't know where something is. They do have a "store" card you can sign up for to get special vallues. But, it has foods that you probably have never heard of. It is outstanding!!

Nugget is a great place to grocery shop because it has everything -- natural food, organic food, fresh soup, salads made to order, sandwiches made to order, chinese food, bakery, expresso and juice bar and endless racks of wine.

Staff are very helpful too.

PROS: Everything tastes fresh
CONS: Closes at 10:00 PM; it appears some items are not available afte 8.
