.

Our nephew referred us to Stop N Go. His incentive for doing so was to get a $25 referral fee.

Upon signing up, Wayne informed me that he would NOT give my nephew the $25 because my nephew had not 'printed the business cards as instructed' by the Stop N Go rules. This should have been my first clue that these guys were a joke. My nephew got them a new customer, he should get paid. But Wayne insisted that 'rules were rules' blah, blah. I let it slide. I should have known right there!

His ridiculous contract reads as if written by a 8th grader. I let this slide. Again, I should have known better.

My son's first lesson was with Wayne. Afterwards, I was driving with my son. A driver behind us was tailgating, way too close. I told my son to ignore him, just watch the road. He tells me Wayne had said 'The person behind you is one of the most important things to watch for". Wow. More skeptical but I take this with a grain of salt and conclude that he will 'learn to drive' with his mother and me. The driving school is just about getting the paperwork needed for the DMV.

For his second two-hour lesson the instructor (not Wayne) shows up at 4:00 as scheduled.

My son gets home at 5:10. He's laughing and says "You guys aren't going to believe this. My instructor fell asleep in the car!" What?

They were driving up Hwy 65 to Twelve Bridges exit and head East. The instructor has him turn right onto Sierra College heading South. After 5 minutes or so they approach Taylor Rd. My son asks "Should I turn here?". No answer. My son looks over and the guy is asleep! So he says louder, "Hey, should I turn here?" The guy wakes up, tells him to turn. Then he guides them back directly to our house.

When they get to the house, the instructor hands my son a survey and asks him to fill it out. The guy watches him fill out the survey, they are both in front of the car. Very intimidating for my son, he just wants out of the car at this point.

I call the office at Stop N Go and I ask for Wayne. Wayne is not there so I talk to his wife. I tell her what happened. She is shocked. She apologizes. Says she will talk to Wayne and call me back.

Wayne doesn't call. The next day I call them. Wayne's not there. I talk to the wife again and she has copped an attitude. She wants to know why my son give the driver a good rating on the survey? And she also wants me to know that the survey my son signed stated that he had a full two hours lesson!

I'm a reasonable guy. I'm even tempered, slow to anger and I know how to diffuse tense situations. I calmly explain to her that my son felt intimated by the instructor, being that he was pretty much coaching him through the survey in the next seat. She said "He's supposed to fill that out in the back seat." As if it's my sons fault. I calmly explain that my son was a little freaked out after her instructor fell asleep and let's give him a break. Then she adds "and the instructor didn't get back to the office until 6:20, and we are only 10 minutes from your house."

I chill for a moment and then calmly explain to her that we want one more hour, exactly what we paid for. She says she will talk to Wayne and call me back.

Three days and no call. I call them. I get Wayne. He's irritated but agrees to give us one more hour. He wants to schedule for the next Wednesday. My son works that night so it doesn't work. Wayne then tells me "the only thing I have is about 6 weeks out". Okay, so I am pissed off now. These guys are SO wrong yet he's jerking me around? I tell him that's unacceptable, they screwed up and he needs to bump someone else to get my son in. Wayne tells me "he will do me a favor and do a lesson on Sunday night."

Wayne never shows up for the appointment. I call twice and leave messages.

All day Monday passes and NO CALL! I call them Monday night and Wayne's wife tells me they had a family emergency. No apology. We reschedule for a week later. (NOTE: Stop N Go will charge you $35 for a broken appointment but certainly didn't offer any compensation for standing us up).

Unfortunately, my wife and I had previous engagement we had to attend so we were unable to be home the night of my son's next lesson with Wayne. I really wish I would have been there-

Wayne shows up in what my son refereed to as a "pissed off mood". Before they leave he asks my son to show him his hand signals. My son confuses the stop signal and the right turn signal. Wayne says "Sorry lesson over. You should know that by now. Get out of the car."

He then tells my son "and don't have your parents be callin' me and complainin'!"

We found another school that gets LOTS of complaints about Stop N Go. He made us a very good deal to finish up my sons lessons.

I am going to be taking this up with DMV. In the meantime, stay away from this company.

After they get your money they treat you and your child so horribly bad. Wayne has "cancelled my services" yet refuses to refund over $300.00. Please, most people do not realize that these driving companies are regulated by the state. He is fraudulently taking peoples money and then refusing to provide responsible and respectful service. Please email your stories to the following woman at DMV so hopefully something can be done: Marquita Dykus, mdykus@dmv.ca.gov. You can also reach her at 916-229-3126 916-229-3126. I have been in contact and am in progress of filing a claim against their bond which is with Hartford Fire Services. Their number is 888-266-3488 888-266-3488. The bond number is 57BSBCE2417. My next course of action will be to file a civil suit in small claims if Wayne does not amicably resolve the situation. I think that if we all get together we can show that this is not in any childs best interest. Wayne's bad days are so out of control that I have also thought of filing a restraining order for harassment. Please email me at unreal.111@hotmail and let's help each other.

Pros: Nothing at all

Cons: Everything you can think of.

I would not recommend this driving school. The company phoned my daughter and was verbally abusive on the phone. The owners inappropriate and unprofessonal behavior makes me reluctant to have my child complete the two of three remaining driving sessions required by law. We have heard that other children have been subjected to similar unprofessional behavior prompting parents to seek out a new driving school and forfeit the money for the classes because of the no refund policy. I am beginning to wonder if this is standard operating procedure for the company and could be a scam. I will seek out a new driving school for my child!.

"I am so excited because my son passed his road test with DMV after taking lessons with Stop n Go Driving n Traffic School! My son has four friends who went to other driving schools and unfortunately they did not pass their road test with DMV. Stop n Go believes in educating young people about the laws of the road. They even offer this free class called Start Smart which is taught by an actual CHP Officer to help not only the students but their parents in becoming more updated with the current DMV road laws. Parents might learn that their son or daughter just might know a little more then they do (smile). Stop n Go have all kinds of different programs that they offer the students who have registered with them. I highly recommend that all parents send their son or daughter who is ready to began learning how to drive to Stop n Go Driving n Traffic School. Your child will learn the basics and will be a very good driver after taking lessons with this school.". ANGELA LARSON - 10/23/08

Pros: son passed 1st time, patient instructors,

Cons: had no bad times with the company

.

I know there's got to be a better driving school for your children. This school is usually late, if they show at all; and when they do show, the kids are nothing more than drivers for the instructors to run their errands. And I've never heard so many negative comments from my son as I had heard about Wayne (I think he owns the company).

Pros: I can't think of any

Cons: Not enough room to rant about them all

.

I feel bad giving Stop n Go one star because they don't deserve a single one. Granted my son passed his test but not without me having some definite issues with the owner Wayne. Wayne has some unethical ways of teaching in my eye. Similar things happened with my son as with the previous poster...so I won't bore you with details...but I urge you to not use Stop n Go!

Pros: He passed

Cons: Vehicles are substandard and the owner has some power issues

.

I am the mother of student who just finished her driver?s training, and I wouldn't recommend this to my worst enemy.

1. The owner, Wayne, is rude and controlling. For example, my daughter didn't realize there was a form that she was to keep for her behind the wheel training for the instructors to give her direction and she threw it away; so for her second practice the instructor had to cancel because she was missing the paper. I called the office to reschedule and to pick up another form and Wayne told me I couldn't reschedule until my daughter found that form. I explained several times (finally raising my voice) before he said okay she can schedule but the form would cost me $25. It was a single piece of paper that cost 10 cents to may a copy of.
2. The cars, at least when my daughter did her 2nd btw, are substandard. The instructor?s panic brake did not work and when my daughter would excel the car would only rev the engine and wouldn't catch gears.
3. Not honorable. Again, on the second btw, it was supposed to be done at night driving. Wayne scheduled it for 5pm (it not dark at 5pm in May). He said that he didn't have time for her in the evening so that would work. We did not want to schedule because at that time my daughter was not going to be allowed to get her license anyway, this was Wayne pushing to have it done.
4. Inappropriate behavior. To conclude, Wayne also has a problem with physically touching the kids if they don't do exactly as he says. i.e. Moving their hands on the steering wheel and tapping them on the head when not done exactly as stated as if to say they are stupid.
My daughter was VERY uncomfortable driving with Wayne and only did so one time, after that I insisted that she have a female driver (all of which seemed to be very nice, and not have very nice things to say about Wayne).
