I love this place. If I am in the mood for the best crab cioppino, this is the place I go. You can tell how good the food is based on the fact that there is always a line that goes out the door. My trick for skipping the wait is to walk up and sit at the bar in front. I get to watch my food being made in front of me and do some serious people watching too.

Like I already said, they have the best crab cioppino I have had. The portion is HUGE and can easily be shared with someone. If you're in the mood for something else, they have an enormous selection of fresh seafood.

BTW, I do not recommend the sushi.

The view of the harbor was great. Service was great as well. The drinks (Rhode Island Iced Tea) were watered down and tasted like Kool-Aid. The swordfish was bland and a very thin cut for $30. My wife had only a salad and appetizer and still our bill was over $100 including only one drink each from the bar. We don't understand the rave reviews and we were very disappointed. We had a much more superb meal for $15 dollars less at a five-star restaurant the next evening.

Pros: The view is wonderful.

Cons: Poor quality seafood and WAY overpriced.

This place had the best sea food I have ever eaten. I was visiting all the way from Fl when I stopped by the Fish Markey. It came highly recommended by the locals. They have the freshed food, best drinks and world class service. I highly recommend if you are in the neighborhood you make the stop.

This is my Favorite seafood restaurant when I visit San Diego. It is usually crowded if after 6:pm but well worth the wait. If you go just at 5:ish you don't have to wait as long. Everything is delicious from the bread to the desert. I even try to save room for desert because they serve a wonderful Apple Strudel with Vanilla Ice Cream to die for. The waiters/waitresses are always friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant for seafood lovers

There is a reason the downstairs of this two tiered restaurant is always packed. Whether it is the sunset, the lively bar serving buckets of oysters, mussels, and clams, smoked fish, the fresh seafood counter for taking home for your own cooking pleasure, or the well thought out straight shooting seafood menu. The au gratin potatoes are worth the trip alone but the seafood pleases the palate and they have many different types to choose from.

I love this place! And so does San Diego. With its excellent fresh fish, sweeping views of the bay, outstanding staff, elegant dining areas, reasonable prices, and ample parking, everyone who comes here loves it!
Now, I always go to the Market--which is the upstairs floor of the restaurant. It is a bit more elegant and dressier. But worth it!
I always take my friends from out of town here. It never fails to be a hit.
The Fish Market is consistently excellent. And the staff is the most professional in the county.
Plan on spending about $35-$50 per person upstairs. It is worth every penny. Enjoy!

Their dishes are decent if not a tad overpriced, but their back patio overlooking the bay is awesome. It's really not all that fancy of a place but they have good seafood. The cloth napkins are somewhat weird for a place thats so heavily reliant on dishes you have to eat with your hands. I once asked a waitress for some paper towels and were brought some from the bathroom; but hey, it worked. You don't need to dress up or anything. It's just a bit pricey.
