The service is terrible. The girl who was behind the counter looked like she was going crazy trying to answer the phone and help me at the same time, but her ""help"" wasn't very helpful at all. The Arab man walking around just ignored me and he had his cell phone stuck to his ear the whole time like I wasn't even there! Never go back to this place. I'll find somewhere that actually cares about my business.

My boyfriend needed his window replaced and East Bay Glass was the only place in Oakland that I could take the frame in and have it fixed that same day, not even Home Depot or Ace Hardware could help me. The people were personable, professional, and had a family orientated atmosphere which I love and their prices were affordable! Thanks East Bay for helping us get the job done. If we ever need a window fixed again we know where to go ;-)

My boyfriend needed his window replaced and East Bay Glass was the only place in Oakland that I could take the frame in and have it fixed that same day, not even Home Depot or Ace Hardware could help me. Wish I could give them no stars, but I have to give at least one. The customer service is terrible. They advertise windows made in a day, but only if it's their window and if you're willing to pay 30% more for it. In addition, it can't have tempered glass or specialty glass, be retrofit frame, have colored glass, be round at the top. So many exclusions, why even advertise windows made in a day. I can tell you why, because they want to reel you in only to have you leave feeling like you were cheated.\n\nDon't even try to get an answer over the phone either. It's like there is only one person working in the office, and she doesn't even have time to deal with answering you questions. You get directed to a website that looks like it was copy and pasted from a bunch of other companies. You don't get to see anything that they actually make, and the only thing that shows their shop is a little 30 second video, but that doesn't even show or tell you very much. It looks like a Mickey Mouse operation. They might have been in business since 1926, but I doubt if it's the same owners as in the beginning. \n\nTHEY'VE GOT SOME VERY SHADY BUSINESS GOING ON. STAY AWAY IF YOU HAVE ANY COMMON SENSE.

Placed an order for ten pieces of cut safety glass. Was told they would probably be ready on Friday or Monday at THE VERY LATEST. They said they would call on the arrival of the pieces. Well, Tuesday rolls around with no call, so I go over to see what's up. Well my order wasn't ready. It took the gal at the counter over a half an hour on the phone to discover that my order was ""lost"" and now wouldn't be ready for almost a week! No sorry, or any attempt to make the problem right. Just a take it or leave it attitude. Well, I got my deposit back and will now try to find somebody who's interested in my business. Won't use these guys ever again.

I just have to say that East Bay Glass has some of the most helpful people I have ever met!! The girls in the office were fun and energetic and helped me when I ordered glass for my bookcase. The guys in the warehouse answered questions I had about some problems I was having with my windows. I have some other projects I'm working on and will definitely go back there!!!

I went into East Bay Glass looking for some windows, but I don't know anything about them. That didn't seem to be a problem for one of their employees, Miguel, though. I could tell that he was busy with something but he took the time to explain to me the difference between a block frame window and a retrofit. I went into East Bay Glass looking for some windows, but I don't know anything about them. That didn't seem to be a problem for one of their employees, Miguel, though. I could tell that he was busy with something but he took the time to explain to me the difference between a block frame window and a retrofit. A decent-sized project for a residential order.\n\nI WOULD NOT RECOMMEND EAST BAY GLASS.\n- numerous no shows\n- often very late\n- don't return calls, emails, faxes\n- don't follow-through on estimates/changes\n\nI wasted a lot of time with these guys. I manage a 36-unit art deco apartment building in Oakland. It was built in 1930 and we recently had East Bay Glass Co. replace nearly 400 windows with their own manufactured vinyl windows. I was very impressed with Roger and Adel (owner and vice president respectively) from the moment I first contacted them. They were very friendly and helpful with this project. We drove over to San Francisco several times to talk with the owner and make sure she was completely satisfied. They even agreed to ship all the windows to Sacramento to be specially painted to satsify the owner's color scheme.\r\n\r\nThe windows are great. Double hung, double pane, easily removable for cleaning, and weather tight. What really impressed me though was their professional crew. They had to go inside every one of 36 apartments, rip out the old windows (as many as 14 in one apartment) and install the new ones without creating any dust, debris or problem for the tenants. There were no problems. Every member of the crew did a great, professional job, at a very fast pace. I was so appreciative that I gave each of them a small cash gift out of my own pocket because it was the holiday season and I was very thankful for their efforts.\r\n\r\nThere have been a few follow-up issues regarding some of the windows and Adel took care of these problems immediately. I can highly recommend East Bay Glass to any potential commercial or residential customer.\r\n\r\n

So at 8:40 I called and she said they were still on their way. Then I called at 9:45 and complained and the receptionist came back on the line after a few minutes and said the estimator was in San Francisco, and not even necessarily on his way yet. No call, no nothing.. I told her it was unacceptable and I would take my business elsewhere, and all she said was ""Ok, bye"" and hung up. Then we called back later to complain about the poor treatment and total lack of customer service and she tried to say I hung up on her! Looks like others have had similarly horrible experiences. Don't bother with East bay glass, try Sinans. I wish I could give 0 stars! What a waste of time!!\r\n\r\nI'm adding this paragraph as a follow up to my review above. After I complained, I got a call from the vice president, Adel. He apologized and told me that my business was important, promised discounts, etc.. I was reluctant, but he offered to come out and do the estimate himself that night, so I agreed. Guess what? He was late. The whole point of our conversation earlier had centered around how it is inexcusable to not even call a customer to let them know you are running behind. After all that, he shows up late without a call. I had already left the 100 degree empty house when he arrived apparently. We did finally speak afterwards over the phone, and he offered up all sorts of excuses about how they aren't really in the homeowner sector and probably shouldn't be doing business with homeowners and on and on... If the VP of a company can't be on time, or give a heads up courtesy call to an already upset customer, then how could someone possibly trust the rest of his employees to deliver on their word? HOMEOWNERS BEWARE East Bay Glass. I'm calling Sinan's in the morning and will see how that goes.. Reviews to follow.

Installer didn't bring all the needed parts to complete the installation, said that for him to return with the remaining part would cost $120, as if it were a new service call! I had to drive out to get the part, they couldn't figure out exactly what was still needed...an all-around hassle.

They mest up our glass order and didn't do anything to make it right, they blamed us for the wrong info, after asking many people in the business i relized it was there fault 100%....stay away!!! there are to many other good places to use!!\r\n\r\n
