Brent-Air Animal Hospital

Dr. Schlanger is a wonderful, kind, patient, and knowledgeable veterinarian that I've been going to for years. What I love about him as that he spends time with his clients/animal patients, and is rescue-friendly and not all about making a buck. He's a thoughtful, reasonable guy that really cares about his work.

Brent-Air Animal Hospital was great!

When my cat and I arrived the front desk staff was very helpful. A friend of mine had recommended Dr. Schlanger and he was very nice. The prices were good especially compared to my previous vet. I would definitely recommend this animal hospital.

My dog is very allergy prone, took him in for a 1 night stay and he came home with swollen eyes, strawberry like hotspot wounds, dry skin, and the worst gas you could imagine. I took very specific instructions to them and the receptionist didnt seem to care. They dont give a damn there. I would have been better off leaving him at home in the yard. His eyes only swell like this when he is given pork bone. So I think they just didnt listen to my requests. And he wont stop the itching and the hot spot things are driving him and me crazy. Then they asked for me to bring him in for a exam to see what was wrong. They gave him the problems and then try to charge me for it. Money hungry Vet, like 80% of them out there. That is the last time I will ever bring him into that dreadful place.

I probably have the worst behaved and scared dog. Dr Schlanger and all his staff have been so helpful
and give him the best care. I live in the San Fernando Valley and I will not go to another vet.
All my four dogs are taken care of at the Brent Air Animal hospital. They are the best !!!!

Our 13 y/o recently was diagnosed with glaucoma and had the need for an eye to be removed. During the entire process of trying to save the eye and the eventual surgery, I felt like my dog and I were individuals and not a number. The vet called to follow-up on recovery and did not always recommend the more costly options. I have the caring, individual service I used to feel from my small town veterinarian in CT, yet still had the city luxury of a referral to an Ophthalmologist for the best diagnostic procedures and treatment recommendations.

We originally wandered in because they do grooming and have Saturday hours. But it's become our trusted and only vet. Dr. Edmonson (an absolute sweetheart) and Shlanger are deeply caring and knowledgeable. It's expensive, but fair. They always follow up with phone calls. I highly recommend them.

We recently took our 16+ year old cat Billie in for a UTI and possible kidney, and eye issues. The response and care was far beyond what we expected to receive and we were not charged an arm and a leg to treat our beloved pet. Since this time we have received follow up calls to see how Billie is doing and was immediately tended to when we had to rush her in for an evaluation. Overall the front desk staff and vets are truly AMAZING. Don't hesitate to make this your vet in the future!

we have been through the death of my daughter's beloved dog and my wife's most treasured 'tuxedo cat' within the past four months. In both instances, we received excellent medical advice and attention from the vets and staff at Brent Air, including follow up calls on several occasions. There was genuine caring for our pets and our loss. We have also boarded all of our cats and found that they received good care, even our least endearing one.

I took my dog Charles here for a check up and some minor issues and the service was great. The doctor was very gentle and made Charles and I feel welcome and calm. I really liked this vet it is one of the best I've been to in Los Angeles.

I have to echo previous reviewers who've commented on this clinic's lack of responsiveness. After my dog had a seizure in September and another one in October, Dr. Schlanger ordered $200 worth of tests, but never called me with the results. I left many messages which he claimed, when I finally spoke with him THREE weeks later, that he had never received. So maybe it's just an abysmal office staff that doesn't pass on messages. But on the other hand when Dr. Schlanger did finally talk with me about the test results, he said that he'd get back to me the next day about one question -- but never called me again, despite repeated calls on my part. I don't think that's just the fault of the office staff.

I've realized that it's time to move on. I've found another vet who, in response to one visit about a dermatology condition, has called me twice, unsolicited, with helpful follow-up. That's the kind of vet you want to have -- someone you can count on. Which, sadly, I did not find to be the case at Brent Air.

Brent-Air is the BEST place to take your dog or cat!! I rescued my puppy from the local shelter and Brent Air not only gave me GREAT rates, they also went above and beyond to make sure all the paper work was in copied and in order. I have been in a couple of times when they have been very busy. However, the receptionist always try there very best to make sure all my needs and dogs needs are meet. I have seen both Dr.Oxford and Dr.Schlanger and I must say they are highly educated and talented vets! I would trust either one in a emergency. Overall, the staff is sweet and kind and highly educated with there services! Thank you Brent-Air for making sure my dog is always taken care of!

I was referred to Brent-Air by a friend. My first experience was reasonably good. After that things went downhill fast. The receptionists almost never do what they say they will. I was billed for services I did not receive and had to make repeated calls to get it resolved. It takes extra effort to get simple tasks accomplished. Frustrating experience overall. I did like Dr. Slanger and his assistant, but the office staff was the worst I have encountered. They still have not transferred my pets records to our new vet as I write. I asked them to do it a week ago.

Brent-Air animal hospital has terrible service. They also have horrible parking...there are no lines painted on the ground and i have gotten into a fender-bender trying to get out once. I brought my dog in a few times after moving to the area and while the vet was good, the receptionists constantly made mistakes in scheduling my dog's appointments. Today, after showing up for my appt, i was turned away because the receptionist had written our appt in for an hour earlier. I was not offered to be rescheduled and they girl basically shoved us out the door, as well as telling me its "not her fault that i showed up an hour late". A woman waiting for her appt followed me out the door to tell me she was shocked at how rude the girl was and gave me the address to another vet clinic where she would be taking her dog. Thanks to Brent-Air, my dog is late on his shots now.

Everyone at Brent Air Animal Hospital has always been very kind and helpful with our rescued animals. The vets are attentive and provide excellent care. We appreciate their willingness to go above and beyond in accommodating the needs of our animals. We feel confident in their abilities and we recommend their services.

I've been to alot of diffrent vets and without fail I end up feeling as if i was just another number... a vauge face in the swirl of clients. That all changed when I went to Brent-Air Animal Hospital. They always make time for me, and go the extra mile, and full explain everything. I've had staff members stay late so I could pick my pet up, and they've even deliered medicine to my house free of charge. Dr. Noll, and Dr Kevin are like small 'town vets' with 'big city' knowledge and experiance. As a side note it's not just the Doctors that are great here, the whole staff is both knowlegable and kind. They realy are the icing on the cake. They even goso far as to fill out my insurance claim forms for me.

BrentAir is my dogs home away from home, I have never had any dissapointments and the entire staff makes me feel at ease.
Dr. Kevin Slanger is the man it truly shows his love for his job and
my dog loves him like she loves me. He has always been there
even after hours. Canm't forget the entire staff,
especially Jamie and cheryl I truly love you guys like family,
and will never trust my dog to anyone.
Well Guys if this was sports you guys would be Stanley Cup Champions and if it was the movies you guys deserve an oscar in every category.
Keep up the good work.

I am partial to another vet, but brought my dog here in an emergency and they were terrific. Great service, caring Dr. and experienced tech's. You pay $$$ for care here..but what else is new? I'd much rather know that there is a second choice for me where my pets are well cared for irrespective of the cost!

PROS: Caring vet, good tech's.
CONS: pricey, but no more than others in area..obviously worth it!

I found this vet in my area. I was so impressed by the care they gave my puppy! They truly give individual attention, and they have a toy area in front for the kids! I have five kids, and they never complain if they are a little noisy. They give specialized care to every animal that comes in. When my puppy is sick, they will squeeze me in if it is urgent, and if it is just a check up that my little beagle needs, they are still very quick with appointments. I recommend them highly! Even the vet techs are marvelous!

PROS: fast appointment scheduling, caring vet techs, play area for kids, thorough
CONS: none that I can think of.
