I've been going to the Awilda Salon since it opened in 2001 and keep coming back. The folks at the Awilda Salon always make you feel special. Awilda is a master colorist and cutter. She's managed to keep my frizzy locks looking lush and gorgeous. She's also taught me how to care for my hair to keep it healthy and vital despite frequent blow-dries and the ravages of the aging process. She's Beverly Hills best kept secret.

I recently moved to the Los Angeles area from NYC. I was nervous about finding a new stylist in a new city. I have nothing to worry about anymore since finding Awilda salon. A few of my co-workers recommended me to Awilda salon. Since it was close to where I live, I decided to check it out. I made an appointment for highlights with Alexis. She was incredibly nice and down to earth! I felt completely comfortable the whole time! The salon atmosphere was warm and inviting not pretentious, like most places can be in Beverly Hills. It was very refreshing! She did an absolutely amazing job on the color! They are the best highlights I have ever had. I am so thrilled! By the way, I thought the price for a full head of highlights was pretty reasonable, I will definitely be back again. Thank you Alexis!

I recently had a new treatment Awilda now carries that has literally changed my life with regard to my very curly hair -- the Brazilian Keratin Treatment.

I have long, curly hair. Unlike many curly locked folks, I embrace my curl. What I don't love is the frizz often associated with it. For years I have spent countless dollars on products designed to eliminate or diminish frizz, to little effect.

When Awilda offered to use me as a hair model for this new treatment, I jumped at the opportunity. The thing about this treatment is that it doesn't damage your hair like the Japanese straightening chemicals can. Instead, it's like a DEEP conditioning treatment that takes half the time.

Since I wanted to keep my curl, they did not use any of the formaldehyde in my treatment. You can select various percentages of straightener with this method. Here's how it works:

1. They wash your hair with special clarifying shampoo.
2. They apply a remarkably thin layer of the keratin treatment (which smells like yogurt!).
3. They blow-dry your hair with the conditioning keratin still in your hair.
4. They flat-iron your hair.
5. You look fabulous.

Please take a look at the picture in my profile to see what a difference it made. Since I didn't use any of the formaldehyde, once I washed my hair my curl came back. However, it was relaxed a bit and NO FRIZZ! This was fantastic, as I was headed back to humid North Carolina for a high school reunion. This was exactly the result I wanted. My daughter is dying to have her hair straightened with this treatment.

Upon moving to Los Angeles from New York, I was terrified of the daunting search for a new hair stylist. I knew she or he was out there, but I didn't want to deal with the quest to find this person. I avoided the mission until my hair looked like a tousled Halloween wig. After several hours of online research and a few calls, I finally found Awilda Salon, and particularly the brilliant Katie Ittner.

When I met Katie, my layers were out of whack and my highlights had turned a copper, brassy color, revealing several inches of dark roots. I have medium length, thick, dark, wavy hair. It blowdries out beautifully but on a day-to-day basis it's difficult for me to manage. Katie has helped me achieve hair that looks good no matter what. She has helped me find my natural hair color and a strategy to bring it back with additional shine and luster (which is what I really wanted) and a style that keeps my waves intact. She is a gifted and professional stylist and colorist, so she will consult with you and go over exactly what your vision is or help you find one, then she'll advise accordingly with expert feedback, execute the plan, and Voila!...you will look fabulous!

Awilda Salon is a professional, clean, tranquil slice of heaven in Beverly Hills without the BH attitude or ridiculous, rip-off prices. You do not need to look any further - this is the one! Tell Katie I said "hi."

We are a German couple, staying in L.A. for one month per year. I was devastated because my hair was poorly highlighted. Katie removed the damage using her very special technique. I wish I could see her more often but flying overseas to have your hair done is a bit over the top, isn't it? Well, now that I think of it .... Anyway, I hope Katie will be available in June 2009. i saw heather recently to have my hair colored and get a hair cut.. and can i just say that she is the best. :) she listens to what you have to say, makes sure that you are satisfied, shes not in a rush and she tells you whats best for you and does not recommend extra things that you dont need or push you to buy shampoos and other stuff that they use for your hair like other salons. she is very sweet and chill. its true what they say that she is one of the best hair colorists in LA.. she has the gift of making your hair look natural and beautiful. ive had other colorists and stylists in the beverly hills area, their 'senior' stylists are just ok and they come with a very pretentious attitude like their salons but heather is just extra ordinary. Overall, the awilda salon has very nice staff, very relaxing atmosphere and VERY talented people that other salons do not have. i love it here and i highly recommend heather.

I come in to Awilda's twice a month for the past 4 years. Lisa the receptionist is super professional and on point. Katie is one of the top colorists in La, and Heather, Christina, and Awilda are some of the best stylists i have ever seen. Before I came to Awlida's I had my room mate give me buzz cuts in the bathroom because i feared hair stylists in LA doing a worse job, and i didnt see the value in paying them. But now I am pleased to say that I am a loyal customer, and will never go anywhere else(unless i move out of state). Awilda's Salon has definteley taught me the value and pleasure of great hair stylists.

I came here with my sister after we both had a bad experience having our hair highlighted at John Frieda. I had been going to John Frieda for about 6 years but the last time I went I was unhappy with the colour they put in my hair, which turned really brassy and looked tacky. It also ruined the condition of my hair! I needed a new salon in Beverly Hills and after reading all the good reviews of Awilda I decided to give it a try. The salon is really calm and unpretentious. The staff were all very nice, friendly and took a great deal of time figuring out the best way to colour our hair. The end result was a beautiful dark red in my sister's hair, and they managed to fix my hair so that it looked natural dark blonde rather than brassy and stripey. They also gave me a great shampoo and conditioner which is helping to maintain my colour and restore the condition of my hair. We were both really please with the result and the whole experience. And the price was so much more reasonable than what we had been paying at John Frieda. We're both going back in a few weeks for cuts, and I will definitely be going here to get my colour done in the future. Highly recommended!

Awilda Salon is the best salon in LA! I wish I could keep them a secret, but thats unfair. They have no attitudes like some people in LA, and for an East Coaster like myself it was the perfect place. Heather and I bonded right away and I feel like I have known her for years. She gives natural looking highlights, none of that platinum stuff, because thats not what I was looking for. She was worth every penny I paid for her! I will definitely be back to see her in the near future.

I found this salon while searching citysearch and am so happy I gave it a try. The next day I received about 20 comments on my hair from very random people. Awilda gave me red hair that looks like I was born with it. Amazing! I will be back again and again- do not hesitate to try Awilda Salon! Everyone there is pleasant and experienced and a lot of fun! i just moved to LA from san diego and i was planning on commuting to the stylist
i've been going to for years. then instead, i decided to do some research and found Awilda
Salon and thought i'd give it a try. i was really nervous. the salon is amazing. everyone is so
nice....it doesn't even feel like an LA salon. Heather is just so adorable and easy going. She gave
me highlights and a haircut that's a million times better than my old stylist. i can't believe i was going to
commute. i would recommend Heather in a heartbeat! i'm so happy with my hair and the experience as

I recently had my hair color done at Awilda Salon and I have to say it is the best color and cut I have EVER had. I started out a dirty blonde with a terrible cut and walked out a hot redhead with blonde highlights. The cut is really fantastic and I can't believe it is me every time I look in the mirror!
In addition to a fantastic hair style and color, the treatment I had by the staff was second to none. The atmosphere is welcoming and calm and Awilda (who colored and styled my hair) was amazing. We looked at pictures of colors and styles and after our consultation I felt so confident in her hands that I went for something really beautiful. I would highly recommend Awilda - I am keeping her number on speed dial!

Christina was my stylist / colorist on 10/16/2007. Outstanding. I would higher her in a heartbeat; just after my first experience. I, a former 'working' stylist / colorist at great St. Louis salon.
I'm 50 years male married. 20 & 30 year olds were also present
I loved Christina's personality. She has a calm, confident, friendly demeanor. She is very attentive.
She's a lovely lady in her mid-20s; with true veteran skills. She's no rookie. She has had great professional training, and it shows. She 'gets it'; 'knows how to cut and understand the science of hair color. She says she does great foil highlighing, and I don't doubt it for a minute.
She consulted with me. Going in I told her I worked in the industry; and not to be intimidated by my own ideas; and to use her own creativity. She has vision; what it takes to be great (besides listening to her client, creating what she knows (whether you know or not) will look the best, based on your hair, facial features, skin tone, etc. I had longer - un-kept hair (my choice). She 'made me over' great! Consultation, great natural color followed. I noticed the color was mild to skin, and no amonia smell. Partial grey gone.

She gave me one the very best cuts I've ever had; and my wife is very good too. I'm out in LA on business from Tennessee...; and did not have time to get a cut before I left.

Relaxing, as was her hair condtioning massage, after the color. (not too long, not too short). The music, I believe was a satellite 'Coffee Music'. Not a glitzy 'Hollywood' environment.
It's a perfect setting. Very reasonable prices, considering her exceptional talent!

Kept our talk mostly on hair; which is someting us stylist prefer (hint). I urge to take advantage of your time, and keep it about the hair. I will fly another 3,000 miles soon, to see her again! I'm going to bring my wife the next time, and let Christina make her over too!

I am an expert hair goer....as in I have been to most of the "best" salons in the Los Angeles area, and I have to tell you that Awilda's is a true find. After multiple hair disasters, I have finally found a place where I know I will always come out looking like a movie star. I am so impressed with, not only how spectacular I always look when I leave Awilda (she is the stylist I always use), but also with how the stylists treat their clients. It is just such a relaxing and peaceful place to get my hair done, a true escape from the world. I have now been going for over two years, and if I ever move out of the LA area, I'll have to fly back just to get my hair done! I have also, from Awilda, really learned ways to control my curls. I used to have the ultimate frizzy hair do, and now it always looks silky and shiny...beautiful. You've got to try this place!

I really enjoy my experiences at Awilda Salon. During my last visit I had some green tea, a muffin, more reading material then I knew what to with and exceptional color! Christina (my colorist) is such a sweet layed back person and she always makes my visits worth the trip from San Francisco. That's right I said it , I commute between SF and LA for business and well no one touches my head but Christina. If you plan on visiting Christina I recommend you book a bit in advance as she is getting a bit harder to see, but WELL worth it!

After shopping around for a new stylist to do highlights, I somehow stumbled into Heather's chair. AND I GOT LUCKY! She gave me the most natural highlights I've ever had. She is somebody with TASTE...and is VERY PARTICULAR. Her diagonal technique ensured that I would not end up with a striped head of hair (which I loathe). I will definitely go back. In the past week, I've sent a handful of friends and family to her. All are pleased with the results. I will continue to recommend her.

If you have it you know what im talking about. I want body and layers that won't make me look like a mushroom. I have been through several of the same haircuts over the years, but finally someone got it right. I was recommended to Christina from a friend and read the outstanding review and decided to try. From the consultation to the end of the service I really got the whole hair experience. Christine recommended I put highlights in to enhance the cut and WOW what a huge difference this makes. She also schooled me on some products and easy stying tips. Who would have thought mousse could make such a difference? Christine and mousse are like P.B. and J for my hair :)

i've been looking for a stylist forever, someone who can handle my curly hair, someone who does great color, someone who's willing to listen but will also offer suggestions, etc. A friend of mine recommended heather at awilda and lemme just say -- fantastic. SUCH a relief. not only is heather personable and down to earth, she does AMAZING color and cut my curly locks perfectly! subtle layers that really compliment the way i like to wear my hair which is LONG. so happy to have finally found a terrific stylist. i would recommend heather to anyone and everyone. two thumbs way up. three cheers. bravo!

Heather, my stylist at Awilda Salon, gave me the best haircut I've ever had! I just moved here and I have gone to my same stylist back home forever. I was worried about trying someone new, but Heather was spectacular! And even though the salon is in Beverly Hills, it has a very relaxed, homey quality to it. I was in Los Angeles, moving my daughter, and badly needed a cut and color. I read the reviews for the Awilda Salon on Citysearch and decided to try it. Lucky for me Christina had a cancellation and fit me in. The salon had a relaxing atmosphere and everyone was very pleasant...no attitude. Not only did Christina do an excellent job on my hair but she also took the time to write down local restaurants and newcomer tips for my daughter. We have since tried several of her recommendations and they were all perfect. She even gave me her e-mail address so my daughter could write her if she had any questions. Christina is a gem! The bad news is I finally found a great hairdresser and I don't live in the LA area. The good news is my daughter now knows where to get her hair cut.

I had never been here before but saw all the great reviews on city search and decided to give it a try. This salon has such a great, laid-back atmosphere. Everyone is really nice and professional. I had blonde highlights and a haircut with Katie, who did an awesome job. My color looked amazing, natural (which I requested, though they can do more dramatic blondes too) and really healthy afterwords. Katie also took the time to discuss other options with me to make sure I got what I wanted. I would highly recommed this salon to anyone who is tired of noisy salons where you just feel cattle prodded and end up paying a fortune for something you don't like. Money spent at Awilda is worth it.

My first time at Awilda Salon was a pleasure. Heather, my stylist, took my hair from unruly to stylish and manageable. I have difficult curly hair that, in the wrong hands, can end up a real mess. Heather treated my locks with the utmost skill. Conversation with her was easy going and relaxed, which mirrored the atmosphere of the salon. I really enjoyed my first time at Awilda Salon. I recently moved back to L.A. from NYC and badly needed a hair cut. My stylist, Heather (gorgeous), was quick to offer a me a beverage upon my arrival and was very personable throughout. To me, having one's hair cut by someone for the first time is not unlike a first date. No one is really sure how it's going to turn out at the end and after the two people part ways, that's that. That definitley wasn't the case with Heather. I really enjoyed our chat while she cut my hair. She really took her time with the job at hand and the results were awesome. I would recommend her to any guy out there willing to spend a little more than supercuts to get a a great looking cut from a beautiful lady. It's worth it!

Read the great reviews so I thought I would try Awilda since my other salon was to far away. The girl that answered the phone recommended Katie after describing my hair texture and color. I must admit I was a little nervous since I have had some horrible hair experiences. Katie took away my fears and did a great job on the cut and color. I have gotten so many compliments on my hair. The best thing is everyone in the salon is so nice. Unusual for a Beverly Hills salon.

The prices are slightly higher, but its worth it because she is the most amazing colorist ever!!!!! I`m new to the area and I found awilda salon on city search. I was very nervous because I had been going to my old stylist for 5 years and my high lights where very grown out . I wasn't sure if I was going to find someone to match my color . But Awilda took the time to talk with me and look at different pictures of colors. I was thrilled with the way my high lights came out it was everything that I was looking for plus more. I loved the staff they took good care of me. thank you , and I will be back! And the blowdry was the best . It lasted for days!!

I have been to many, many salons and this was the closest I have ever come to walking out of a salon 100% satisfied. Aside from the high price (It's LA, what can you expect?) my stylist (I wish I remembered her name) did a really, really great job cutting and coloring my hair. She was an hilariously bubbly Louisiana girl who made the entire process a joy, and she did exactly what I asked. I even got free samples of the products they used on me to take home! Every salon I've ever visited in the past, I've walked out of almost in tears. For once, I was thrilled! I will definitely be back seeing as my hair was just destroyed by a stylist in Chicago. You win some and you lose some. Awilda Salon is a winner in my book!

This place is awesome. I read the reviews here, and went in with very high expectations. I told them exactly how I wanted my hair to turn out, and the person working on my hair did exactly what I pictured and made it better than I expected. Katie (?), who I will keep going to in the future, definitely knows what she's doing. She's pretty young, but she's been doing it for years, and it shows. She's nice, and most importantly, real, just like all the other workers there.

The only problem I can think of is that it's pretty pricey compared to, let's say, Supercuts. But there's a big difference. It's like taking a filthy cab with a crazy driver and taking a ride from a nice and experienced driver on a BMW who knows where she's going...

Highly recommended!

I left Awilda with the most gorgeous hair cut, color and blowdry. My husband's jaw dropped when I walked thru the door. His exact words were 'you look very celebrity'. I am a pretty simple gal and for him to say that was such a compliment. It was such a great experience to go to Awilda. The staff is soooo nice. It was like hanging out with a bunch of girlfriends. Awilda is so sweet and sincere. If only everyone in LA was like that!

I COLORED MY OWN HAIR AND IT TUNRED ORANGE! IM NEW TO CALIFORNIA AND DID NOT KNOW WHERE TO GO SO I DESPERATELY SEARCHED THE INTERNET FOR A TRUST WORTHY SALON. THANK GOD FOR CITY SEARCH. I WAS VERY HAPPY WITH THE REVIEWS THAT I READ FROM AWILDA'S SALON AND MADE AN APPOINTMENT TO HAVE MY COLOR CORRECTED. I MUST ADMIT THAT I WAS A LITTLE NERVOUS AT FIRST BUT EVERYONE THERE WAS SO NICE AND PROFESSIONAL THAT I FELT VERY COMFORTABLE BEFORE ANYONE EVER TOUCHED MY HAIR. BUT THANKS TO DENISE, THREE HOURS LATER I HAD BEAUTIFUL ASHE BLONDE HAIR WITHOUT A TRACE OF BRASSY OR ORANGE COLOR. IT LOOKS SO NATURAL AND VERY CLOSE TO THE ROOTS. I called the Aswilda salon after hearing so many great things about it, and took a chance. I went in, and it was very quiet, not much commotion going on at all. It's a little intimidating at first, but after a little bit you get comfortable. I made an appointment with Sabrina for a cut and color correction. Anyone that has ever gone from black to pale blonde knows how tough this is, so she was in for quiet a challenge. I had started the process myself and got down to pale blonde roots, but the ends were still pretty reddish. She first cut the dead ends off, then and recreated the picture I brought in almost perfectly.

I sat there half the day with bleach on my head, until Awilda herself was happy with it. This really impressed me because they weren't scared of the bleaching process. A lot of salons you might go to are skiddish about bleaching to that extent and try to talk you a different color. They really listen to you and give you exactly what you ask for. They were very confident and the products they use are amazing, because after all the processes I went through there was none of that damage one associates with bleach! There were some really tough spots that just didn't want to come out, but they were determined to get it just right, very detailed.

I do have to say I paid an arm and a leg, but looking back on it, was worth every penny. You really have to be careful where you go for color correction especially, because it can be easily damaged and it can lead to a real nightmare. It's been about 3 1/2 months since I went, and I am happy to say that the cut was so amazing that it grew into an even better, AMAZING look. She did such a great job I might not even have to go in for another 3 months! Get it done right the first time, and you will save yourself from a lot of stress, and even money in the long run.

Very down to Earth and unique dolls. A rare suprise for Bev Hills so visit Sabrina or Aswilda, even if you don't know how to pronounce the name!

That was the worst experience I have had at a salon. The color was horrible! Everything was orange!! Not what I expected out of a Beverly Hills Salon. The service was not anything out of the ordinary, they make you feel like your putting them out by being there. Hope you find this useful and hope you don't make the same choice I made! I will never go back there!!

After my recent introduction to Awilda salon, I am now a convert and solemnly vow to follow Awilda to Alaska, if need be, for any future hair cut and color treatments. If I could post a before and after photo, you would stop searching this site and book your appointment immediately! I wasn't certain what I wanted to change - I just knew what I had wasn't working...at all. Awilda patiently looked through some photos with me and we discussed options until a clear plan was hatched. I felt completely comfortable in her hands and the gentle lighting and music put me even more at ease. As I happily sipped my herbal tea, an incredible transformation occured! Virtually every day since that visit to Awilda salon, I have had people commenting on how great I look and asking for her info. I highly recommend Awilda and her excellent service!

I've always wanted to be a redhead. I have pale skin, freckles and two brothers with red hair -so of course my hair is brown. I just moved to L.A. and I found Awilda online. I told her that I wanted to look like a natural red head, not orangey. We looked through a bunch of pictures until I found exactly what I wanted. And now my hair is perfect. I love it, I've gotten so many compliments. And the whole experience was so relaxing. The salon has fountains and plants everywhere. I felt like I was in a little zen garden. Everyone was super friendly. They even recommended a place to have lunch when I was done. And now everyone thinks this is my natural color!

An asthetic and relaxing environment with friendly staff. Awilda does great color and understands what you want when you ask for a haircut. Individualized attention - no overbooking and waiting around. For an enjoyable afternoon at the Salon, I recommend it!

Pros: Doesn't book several customers at the same time. Great color & cut.

My hair color was a mess. I made an appointment to see Sabrina at Awilda Salon after going to a few other places that i wasnt very pleased with. She took my brassy blonde hair and wove low lights and high lights and i was absolutely thrilled with my color. I found the salon to be very relaxing and the staff was very friendly. I highly recomend this salon.

I was recomended to Awilda's Salon by a co-worker. I have never had my hair colored before and decided to have high lights done. I made an appointment with Awilda and brought a few pictures with me. She took her time and gave me beautiful warm blonde high lights. It looked very natural. Great atmosphere too, no hustle and bustle.
