They offer Mandarin style Chinese dishes. The place is very clean and service is usually very fast. Food doesn't seem like authentic Chinese food but it was still ok. Perfect place to pick up lunch if you work in the area.

They have good Chinese food and the lunch specials are pretty filling. You get soup and salad with the lunch special. The portions are plentiful. I would recommend this place to friends. Get there before noon or you will have to wait a while.

Always busy especially during lunch but prompt seating and excellent Chinese food... to previously reviewer who thought Tai Pan is Thai food... learn about the restaurant before making incorrect assumptions... All the dishes are very tasty

Pros: Great service and food

Cons: Parking but it is Downtown L.A. so what do you expect

For those of you confused about the name of the restaurant and the style of the food, "Tai Pan" is a Cantonese (Chinese) term used to refer to a big-shot business person. "Thai" as in "Thailand" and "Thai food" is spelled differently.

This restaurant, located in WF Plaza, is not all that great. First of all, this is primarily szechuan chinese, and not thai food. Food was greasy and not particularly healthy.

Located im the Wells Fargo Center in Downtown L.A. (4th and Hope). Good kung pao shrimp. Gets a little busy around lunch, but go at 11:45 and you will have no problems. Not cheap, but nice for client meeting or meeting place.

I came here and the service was not too bad. We order of food and the food was done fast. They did not keep us witing like other places do. The food was great and the spices were perfect.

I recommend going there again. I suggest arriving
