This is my favorite place for my favorite dish, chicken in mole. I learn how to cook chicken in mole from my mother but El Burro beats my chicken in mole hands down. I love their chicken in mole and order it all the time. El Burro gives

There is a reason this restaurant is called the ass. The food tastes like it and the people who take your order and deliver act like it. The service was as slow as you can imagine in your worse nightmare. The server, uninterested in taking our order or getting it correct. Order was delivered and it was wrong, not a little wrong, but likenothing was right. Two item combo with green sauce appeared as a three item in red and not the correct items. The food tasted like spiced lard. never again. The only people who eat here are convicts who after spending years in prison have no idea what real food is supposed to taste like. do yourself a favor and kill yourself if you ever want to eat here.

They have the best Colorado in the Bay Area. I've heard the Verde is good too, but I always get the Colorado. House salad dressing is like pico de gallo and is very good as well. This place will fill you up with great Mexican food.

Oh my goodness, I love this restaurant, I will get these cravings for their choriso enchiladas, they are to die for. Another favorite is the Colorado Burrito. You can't go wrong at this place, very clean and reasonably priced. Try it you will love it too.

I have tried to have dinner at this restaurant 3 different times. The 1st time, I got to the restaurant at 8:30 & the door was already closed. There were no hrs posted on the door so, I didn't think much of it. The 2nd time, I was meeting a friend in Newark. I called to ask what time they closed & I was told 9pm. My friends & I got there at 8:45pm & it was again closed. I called from outside & was told "we closed at 8:30pm today". I was meeting a few friends again in Newark & they convinced me to give El Burro another try. One of our friends was inside the restaurant when we got there at 8:40pm. He came out to the door to tell us they were closed. I was upset because I couldn't believe that this was happening. I asked the lady that was upfront "what time do you close?" she said "we are closed now". I asked her "what time do you NORMALLY close?" She answered "we are closed now". She was very rude. I asked her again the closing time and she said "9". I tried to tell her that it was 8:43pm & she said, "we are closed". I told her, "but, it's not 9pm". She said, "it doesn't matter, we are closed". In all my 17 years in customer service, I had never been talked to or treated this way. I asked for a manager & she responded "I'm the manager". I couldn't believe that a restaurant like this would have a manager with such poor service skills. I asked her for her name & she refused to give it to me. Again, I couldn't believe the this manager was answering in this manner. I guess I can't expect much from a manager who is not very professional. That goes to work wearing a pancho and flip flops. We went outside to leave. There were 2 couples that went in while we were in the parking lot and also came out upset that it was closed and not 9pm. Needless to say, I will never step foot into this restaurant. Specially with a manager that has no sense of good customer service and is allowed to make her own closing hour withought acknowledging that customer are not always local. .

I used to live in California and I loved eating at El Burro. When I come down to visit and I'm in the area I make it a point to stop here. The atmosphere is incredible. The best of any Mexican restaurant I have been to. Great chips and salsa. I usually get the Burrito Verde. It tastes really good, comes in a generous portion, and has a good amount of spice to it. The last time my mom was visiting family in this area she bought several Burrito Verdes, froze them, and took them back up to Oregon to share.. Check this place out.

Walking into this restaurant I had very high hopes, it is the best Mexican restaurant decor I have ever seen. My hopes were immediately shattered as soon as I sat down. The food was horrific. My chicken burrito was basically just chicken pot pie mix in a tortilla. Just because you wrap something in a tortilla does not make it Mexican food. The watered down drinks did nothing to change my mind about this place. Avoid this restaurant at all cost.

I can't comment on the burritos as I have never had them here. I have, however, had the quesadillas, flautas, enchiladas, carne asada, and the like. You wouldn't normally get a burrito or taco at a place like this if you are looking for authnetic Mexican food. For that you go to a taco stand or resturant like El Grullense in Redwood City. My fiance is full blooded Mexican and he loves this place. The beans are homemade and the salad with house dressing is VERY good! We never get mixed drinks, only Coronas and the plates are VERY large and FULL of food. And you definitely get your money's worth here! They need to hire a few more waiters/waitresses but this little old man that is always there is very nice!
