I am going to try another salon. First, I was scheduled for one pampering type facial and I received another one which was quite rigorous. My skin seems to be peeling and somewhat Irritated still and it has been two days since I received the facial. I am wondering if this is normal???The worst part was I was misquoted re: price when I scheduled the appointment and the facial ended up costing me considerably more than I anticipated. So I would encourage people to find out exactly what the cost is when they book the service, write it down and bring that information with you. When I questioned the clerk/receptionist about the price after she rang it up, knowing there was a big discrepancy, and she got testy with me and kept repeating the price in a terse voice, in front of others. She was rude. I think she could have handled this situation much more diplomatically. I agree they need better customer service as they are running clients off at the reception area. When I called to discuss the price discrepancy later, no offer of a discount was made.

Once you get past the front desk girls you will love the treatment you receive. They have the best Therapist in the business. Ask for Erinn Fraser for your massage or Anna Maria Scaduto for your facial they are both excellent. I've been going to the Spa for over 10 years and I have never once thought I would go any where else UNTIL this past Sunday 4-26-09 when the front desk girl treated me like I didn't belong and she was very rude. I glad I didn't let her bad attitude change my opinion of the wonderful service I receive once I got past the front desk! I think you should give this Spa a try ~ it's very worth it, once you get past the front desk!

I've gone here a couple of times before, but hadn't been for about a year because the decor and atmosphere were so tacky and out of date. Then, I got a gift certificate for my birthday, and my shoulder was hurting so I figured, what the heck? WOW!! The place looks so much better! The locker rooms are still pretty basic, but the relaxation room is so much nicer (and in a different location I think?)!! They must be doing something right, to be able to renovate in the midst of this recession.
But, about the massage. I was not expecting to find someone as amazing as Erin at a day spa. When I told her about my shoulder, she did a postural assessment, had me show her what range of motion made it hurt, and instantly knew which muscles to work on and FIXED IT!!! I've been going to physical therapy for 3 weeks and taking pain meds, and in one massage it's almost 80% better. I'll definitely be going back for the treatment plan she set up for me and doing the exercises at home that she told me (how many spa therapists do that?). I asked about her education because she seems far superior to other therapists in the area, and she said she was trained in Michigan. Whatever her training is, she should be working at a doctor's office, not a day spa. But, I'm glad she was!! It says something that Beauty Kliniek is able to attract a therapist like Erin.
I don't know why some reviewers say the staff is snobby (although that was in 2007) - they were extremely friendly, fun and attentive.
4 stars because the place doesn't have the modern feel of other spas charging $110 for 50 minutes (Erin's specialties - yes, plural -cost more).

Beauty Kliniek Spa is centrally located in the University City area. large spa with gift certificates available for their many services. I would recommend - very nice staff.

If you have the time and money to spend some time at this place, you will leave feeling very relaxed. I go here regularly to get my eye brows waxed and I love the lady I go to... she's great and does a perfect job every time. I've had several facials here and even a few massages. It's a great get-away! The offer everything that you can imagine from massages, facials, to makeup and hair. It's really pricey though! I've had some good massages and some that were definitely not worth what I paid. The people there are always friendly and it's a quiet calming place.

This day spas and wellness center offers variety of services for men and women. It also have different packages for you to choose from in case you don't know what you want or you want to try them all.
The price are pretty good. I highly recommend this place.

This place offers a lot of different services for both men and women. They have a huge selection of different packages to choose from. Also, they offer specials for brides to be- in helping them look and feel their best for the big day. Pretty good prices. I would recommend this place.

Best Spa In Town Hands Down

From the moment I arrived at Beauty Kliniek, I was impressed. The young ladies at the desk were courteous, professional, warm and welcoming. The massage I received was truly remarkable. My neck and shoulders were extremely tight as I work at a desk most of the day and deal with a lot of stress. 50 minutes later, almost all of my pain was gone! I have received massages for almost 10 years and never has this happened in only one treatment. Next I had a facial. The esthetician prescribed the facial that was best for my skin and for the results I was seeking. She was incredibly knowledgeable and informative. The facial produced results much greater than what I was expecting! After experiencing my services at Beauty Kliniek, I truly cannot imagine going anywhere else.

Best Haircolor

I was recommended to Terence at Beauty Kliniek by a friend. My color had been ruined so many time before and my hair was in bad shape when i went to Terence. From my friends rave reviews of Terence's skills with color and cuts, I felt confident from the moment I sat in his chair. After a quick consultation, he gave the best color I have ever had. My hair has never looked so good!!!!!! He was quick and efficient and my color was flawless!! I have paid hundreds of dollars per service before and never got color that looked as good as what i got at Beauty Kliniek from Terence. My cut and color was $180.00 and that is a bargain for what I got!!!!
He also recommended me to an amazing facialist named Kate, and I also got one of the best facials I have ever had!!!!!!

SPA Deep Tissue Message=Bruises, pain, and lots of Motrin

the facility looks great and the service attitude from the staff was ok...sort of friendly...
the deep tissue message was kinda rough in the throughout but since i asked for a firm message, I was ok with it...then during the treatment, i get the elbow on my back...cracking my hands and putting her whole weight on them (when i told the messuse not to touch them), I never had folks put their weight on my hands..that is not cool, specially when I told her to not touch them.....during the shower...when i bent down to get the shower gel, i felt excruciating pain on my entire neck and head..I told the staff and she'd told me that should be normal..I went home and had to pop 800mg of Motrin for the entire day and next..today..the third day, I am still with pain...I have more pain coming out of the spa than when I went in..IS THAT NORMAL?!??? I thought I should feel better after a message...
I will not go back to that place and will not recommend anyone with any pain to go into the spa either..
and also..i didn't get the whole entire time that I paid for...so go if you like but just be aware..and maybe just ask for a soft message and nothing serious...

Best day spa I've ever been to!

I just recently moved to La Jolla, and I am so glad I found this day spa! After moving I was exhausted, and one of the first things I did was go for a massage - I had the aromatherapy massage and let me tell you, I was in heaven. Plus, the spa is absolutely beautiful, and has a relaxing environment with nice, calm music. I know most spas have these things, but the balance was perfect at Beauty Kliniek. My massage therapist was amazing, obviously loves what she does and was very good at it! I Highly recommend this spa to anyone in the San Diego area!!!

Amazing Wellness Center

Wow! Talk about one-stop shopping. Not only does this place offer unbelievable body treatments, but they also have an entire team of health professionals. I've gone regularly for massages, but when my neck and jaw pain became chronically worse, I was introduced to the Wellness Center. I realized that my pain was not only physical, but also mental and emotional. I met with the naturopathic doctor, homeopathic doctor, psychotherapist, acupuncturist, aromatherapist and manual lymph drainage professionals. I wasn't treated as a symptom, but rather as a whole person. At times I felt the team of practitioners were more committed to my health than I was; that's how competent and compassionate they all were. Beauty Kliniek is the epitomy of holistic and alternative health and has now become my primary healthcare facility.
Pros: Every treatment for mind, body and soul under one roof.

Best spa in San Diego

I've been to Beauty Kliniek several times while in San Diego--for facials, massages, pedicure, manicure, hair styling, makeup. But cosmetology is only the tip of the iceberg here. It is a labyrinth of intriguing niches each with state-of-the-art offerings for body, mind, and spirit. The clinicians are--across the board--topnotch; they made each session totally relaxing, enjoyable, and therapeutic. This I can compare to some I've been to in the NYC area, where staff can be indifferent and lack the degree of expertise and caring I found here, in massages for example. This is a world-class facility, understandably so because its founder and CEO LInda-Anne Kahn, who is multi-certified in everything from aromatherapy to lymphedema therapy, hand picks and trains each employee to her own rigorous standards. The newly expanded wellness center is a wonderful complementary medicine branch, boasting a list of up-to-the-minute certifed staff not the least of whom is their vibrant and compassionate psychotherapist Nicole Kahn, trained on two coasts. She is my first destination on my next trip out. If you like spas--or even if you don't--you'll love this one.

Fabulous Spa Services

They have the BEST massage therapists I have ever been to. I have also gotten manicures, pedicures, hair and make-up. Their facitilty is comforting and relaxing, and their prices are fair for the services I have received. Everyone who works there is professional, curteous and friendly. The facility is immaculate and very hygienic (very important- especially with manicures and pedicures). If you have a free hour, you should take advantage of this great place.

Amazing Spa

I have been to spa's all over the world and this was one of the best spa's I have been to. The expertise, professionalism and caring nature of the staff was unsurpassed. I have now had about 10 massages at the spa (some have been gifts) and all of the massage therapists I had were incredible. I have also had facials, manicures and hair services which also more than met my needs. My husband has had a problem with his neck and he has been utilizing the wellness center --he has seen the acupuncturist, naturopathic doctor and even has a session with the psychotherapist on staff who really helped him.
I would highly recommend this spa to anyone.

Best Day Spa anywhere.

My first impression of this incredible place was the absolute dedication to their customers. I have been to many places and this one really knows what the customer needs. They were curtious,patient, caring and very attentative to my needs. They are so friendly, they really know how to make you feel welcome. As far as the service goes, they rock! I recieved a massage and steam bath. The therapist had incredible attention to detail. I left the massage feeling really good and of course I scheduled for another appointment. Their facility is state of the art with a very professional and experienced staff. I had to write my review of this place because it is amazing. My rating on this place is 5 stars!
Pros: Friendly,curtious,profession service and incredible atmosphere.
Cons: Not located in the city where I live.
