I've eaten at Satkar several times but only for lunch and only from the buffet. The buffet had half vegetarian main dishes and the other half contained chicken. The vegetarian dishes were delicious.

In addition to the main dishes there were appetizers, salads, condiments and dessert.

I highly recommend this restaurant.

PROS: Delicious food.

Like many restaurants in downtown Los Altos, Satkar is unfortunately under-patronized. Granted, it's a nice treat to be seated immediately and receive individualized service, but it would be nice to see more appreciation for the good food and friendly owners.

Prices are a bit higher than usual, but the quality of the food is very good. And I really appreciated the service -- for example, they brought out some child-friendly snacks immediately after we were seated to entertain my 3-year-old.

Satkar also has a booth at the weekly Farmers' Market, so people with more cooking skills than me can use some of their sauces at home. Overall, a very good place to eat, and I hope that they're around for a long time.
