Franciscan Crab Restaurant

I'v always liked this restaurant although I know many locals feel it's too tourist-y. You can't beat the view, the service is above average, and the crab is always good. Dishes aren't especially inventive, but they are executed well enough. My only complaint is the interior decor - it could use an update.

This is an old school "high end" tourist spot right on the water . The menu is pretty standard fare and the wine list is okay but the scene totally makes up for it. People from all over are in the "stadium" where every seat has a great view since the restaurant is tiered to keep great site lines for every table. A fun night out and not an outrageous splurge.

PROS: Great views and fun people watching
CONS: Mediocre food.

This restaurant is housed in a great old San Francisco building. The building faces the water and offers wonderful views. Parking is very easy, which cannot be said for most places in downtown. The food is great. All in all Franciscan is a nice experience.
