I've been going to Marine for waxing treatments ever since I moved to the neighborhood several years ago. Adore her! She's a perfectionist and always tries to make the process as painless as possible. Bikini waxes aren't fun, but with her I don't dread them! I also started going to Kristine for highlights after hearing raves about her. She is A-MAZING! She's done the best color of my life and is worth every penny. Love the vibe of this place - mellow, friendly, very laidback, no attitude.

5 years ago I went to Bob with a really lame and boring hairstyle, I had no idea what I needed or wanted but Bob took one look and a few hours later I was a entirely different person! My hair was beyond anything I could have imagined and I have never in my life received as many compliments as I do on a daily basis! Needless to say I continue to let Bob do his magic and every time I am as impressed as I was the first! I feel so welcome there and every single person working there is friendly and wonderful! I highly recommend Transcend Salon to anyone!!! THANK YOU BOB!

Bob is an artiste, a magician. He is gregarious and larger than life. Sometimes he runs a little late or gets caught up in conversation or telling jokes, but it is all worth it!! He cuts with such precision and skill you can let his cuts grow and grow and they still maintain their look. I have never had a stylist who I completely trusted to do whatever they wanted to my hair. No matter what Bob does, it looks great. Bob is the man!!!

I have known Bob for over 20 years, and I think we've become good friends during that time. But it's not due to that friendship that I write this review, it's mainly due to the few bad ones I've read so far on the site. Yes, it can take longer in his salon than in others, no, he probably won't care that you've been sitting there annoyed, listening to him go on and on about something you don't care about. But if you really trust his judgement and experience and you let the rest be part of the price you have to pay for that level of expertise, you too will become hooked like many others. Over that many years it was natural we would disagree on many issues, and once I even took a one year break from him. During that time I had my hair colored (but not cut) by others, but I was never happy. I had to return to him and accept that Bob was a package deal, and that the positives more than outweigh the negatives. My husband and I moved to Las Vegas in 2005 and since then I've been driving the 4 hours each way every 6 weeks for color and every 2nd-3rd trip for cut. I always get wows from family and friends. I once tried a Vegas stylist (came highly praised) for color and it was awful, out of a bottle. My husband got 2 haircuts in Vegas and they were old fashioned and didn't compliment his face at all. So we log in the miles and gas and put up with Bob's opposing political views for a reason: he happens to be the BEST that I found at what he does. I also enjoy the friendly, family style atmosphere, I'm asked about the kids, I know about their kids, boyfriends and diets, and this sort of feeling of belonging doesn't come easy in most other places. Bob knows how to make you part of the group right away, he introduces his clients to each other so you never feel like an outsider, and when you leave you feel you have made a personal connection with everyone, employees and clients, so you say your farewells to each person you've met. I love Bob and so do my husband, 3 kids and all my friends who have met him!

When I came to Los Angeles years ago I used to drive back to San Diego (138 miles each way) or wait till I was back home (out of state) to get my hair cut. I stumbled upon Transcend Salon and can say that for even the most demanding client....this is the place. I've been going to Transcend ever since. :)

Bob and his people working at Transcend are great. Bob is a perfectionist and won't let you leave until the cut is perfect. My wife and I are really happy with him and love the folks in his shop. He'll change the way you look at yourself!

My mom has been coming to Bob since she was 20 years old and now that I am 21 I get my haircut by Bob too. if this doesn't tell you something let me enlighten you...Bob and the Transcend Crew are AMAZING! If you want to look beautiful, sophisticated, sexy, stylish and be the envy of all of your friends then you NEED to get to Transcend Salon ASAP, your life and hair depend on it!!! This man is a genius...he will cut your hair to better suit your face and trust me the hair cut will hold it's shape and style for several months....I come in once a year because even after 12 months my hair still looks damn good! this isn't supercuts; this is a REAL Salon with PROFESSIONALS who are more like artists then anything else.... screw all of the bad reviews, I promise to you, you will leave the salon feeling soo good about yourself!

I have been going to Bob for years! I cheated on him once and had to have him fix my bad haircut and he made me gorgeous. His staff all spoils me and have become my friends. He truly cherishes people and wants to make everyone feel special. DONT GO HERE IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN A COLD, QUICK HAIRCUT WITH NO SOCIAL INTERACTION. Bob, treats everyone like family and wants everyone to meet and interact because he truly makes it his business to become friends with his clients. He is so warm and loving. But most of all, he makes me feel beautiful. I was told 5 times last night how good my haircut was, by 5 STRANGERS! I love people here, and I love the cut! Bob, you're a true artist!

I don't even know where to start. My appointment was at 9:30, but someone was scheduled before me. I got there 10 minutes early and she just had her hair washed. Bob said hello and asked me to wait. I was cool with that. I sat. They offered me tea. I read a magazine. While I sat there Bob was chatting up the girl in the chair. Something like 15 minutes passed and I noticed he was talking the whole time. The conversation was totally all over the map. He discussed his psychology, his ex-wife, girlfriends, you name it - like I sad all over the map. I tried to ignore the conversation and wonder for a second if I would also be treated to the same. I went back to my reading.
Finally I noticed I had been waiting for 50 minutes and got really antsy. I thought, should I just go, but after reading all these reviews it sounded like he was some kind of genius with hair, so wanted to be open. This was my great mistake. Needless to say, Bob sensed my annoyance of waiting, so he pulled me into the conservation, and ignored the girl in the chair. She was probably happy. But the thing was was that he would cut some hair pull back stand in front of the client and talk. He did more cutting than talking.
At 10:30, they took me to the back to get shampooed. I was so hesitant, not because of getting a good haircut, but I had no real desire to be an audience to his monologue. I was put in the chair, and he started to work. All kinds of strange things transpired taking his attention away from my haircut, but his mouth never stopped. It was comical to watch his employees as they clearly couldn't stand him. Bob's appears all big, smart (he'll tell you all about everything under the sun he studies), but he is extremely emotional and talks out of his ass.
In the end, I sat there until 1:30. And big old Bob dumped his garbage truck of cramp on me, the client before me and everyone else that crossed the threshold. The cut was good, it may be great, but the experience was like a hostage situation. This might sound over dramatic, but I swear to you that if you were sitting in the chair you would feel the same way. I didn't write this - to spare his feelings, however people should be warned. it was fresh hell - when I told him to hurry - he got flustered and took even longer. If you're not into a four haircut - I don't recommend this guy.

Bob will take you through an insightful and enlightening consultation prior to you styling. Not only is his work beautiful but also technically brilliant---your style lasts longer, easy to manage and will look the same 3 weeks later. I remeber I used not sleep laying down after going to other "trendy" salons cuz it was so hard to reproduce. He teaches you management and care alongside a professional yet personal demeanor. Bob (the owner) is the most amazing hairdresser ever. In fact he's so good he plans how my hair will grow out as he cuts and colors so i don't need to come back more than once every 6 months... and best believe it still looks hot 6 months later. Bob is adorable, full of entertaining stories and sincerely cares about his clients like family. His entire staff is warm and competent and even you might sit there for a few hours balling between clients who are all getting different designs done, you will have no complaints as the staff will keep you entertained and feeling at home in no time... and not to mention that you will most likely walk out with the most happening hair do around. well work the wait! i have been going to bob for soon 5 years and would never let anyone else lay a finger on my hair ever again.
If you're up for something truly unique and special , bob is the one you want to go to. He'll make your hair look like a walking piece of art while making you a sandwich and a cup of tea. transcend is wonderful...

Bob has been cutting my hair for 7 years, no matter where I am living or working. His cuts last for up to six months, longer if you are okay with growing it long. His cutting style works with the growth of your hair so it always falls perfectly and the ends rarely split because of the quality of his scissors. Bob the man is brilliant and charming, with a hug or a funny story for everyone. His love for his clientele is real and we all bask in his attention. Bob is creative and innovative, with a careful eye for detail. Give him the freedom to create a new look for you, you will never be sorry you stepped out of your comfort zone.

She was very friendly, made me feel very confortable.
I went to her for a hair cut ,then couple of weeks after went to her for style and makeip for a weeding, I could not belive it was me in the mirror, I looked stuning .At the weeding every one wanted her phone number.
She is the greatest. I live in a very high class area and there are very well known hair designers wich I had tried in the passed , they do not compare what Kristine can do with her magic scissors and her amazing talent with her makeup brush. Love Love Love her.

Bob's been cutting and highlighting my hair since I moved to LA almost 10 years ago. He's a master at both and I always get compliments on my hair. I like that he pushes me just a bit outside my comfort zone to try more interesting cuts and highlights. I always leave the salon feeling like I look great (or at least my hair does!).

I cannot talk about Bob and just mention his talent with styling my hair. He's also an sweet, wonderful person, as is everyone else in his salon. I often stop by just to say hello and am always greeted with smiles, a huge hug and a kiss.

He's amazing and I wouldn't go anywhere else.

I've been going to Kristine now for about 8 months now....She is truly an amazing hairdresser.....From doing my color w/high-lights to cutting and styling she is the best!!!! Always makes me feel at ease........listens to what I want and will give me the best results ALWAYS!! As a guy, it is often difficult to find someone who knows how to properly cut and style my hair. After the first time Bob cut mine, I wondered where the hell this man had been when I was getting butchered at other places for years previous. One often hears the cliche about artists of one kind or another with a "magic touch", but this descriptor is so perfectly appropriate for what Bob does vis-a-vis hairstyling, it is a difficult phrase to avoid. Moreover, he's a terrific guy with a great sense of humor, and a tremendously contagious passion for everything he does. As I no longer live in Los Angeles, I am denied the pleasure of both his charm and artistry, but thanks to the Internet, I can commend him to you. If you want to look your best, Bob Geevar can help you get there.

Transcend is a way of life, a religion, a cult, and a theme park all rolled into one.

If you want a genius to cut and color your hair go to Transcend.

Think about going to Transcend like getting your haircut by Salvador Dali.

Salvador Dali would make his priority making each customer's hair a perfect work of art. Same with Bob. He would not care how long it takes, he would spend hours with you if necessary. Same with Bob.

I LOVE this salon! It is right in the middle of the adorable Los Feliz Village...close to many restaurants and shops. The owner Bob is a really great hairstylist and makes the whole experience very fun! Cool decor too. Definitely check it out!

BOB GEEVAR IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! I've been to them all in Beverly Hills, West Hollywood, Hollywood... the so-called big names, but nothing close to Bob. Several years ago I cut my hair for the first time with Bob. I decided to let my hair grow long... for two years I did not cut it. During the two years, people would say, "You just cut your hair, it looks great!" My reply was, "I got it cut almost 2 years ago." Bob has cut my hair many times since. It's been short hair for the last 4 years. Bob is also a great person with wonderful energy. THANK U BOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I WENT TO THE SALON BASED ON THE REVIEWS OF THIS SITE,.I WAS HESITANT AT FIRST BECAUSE OF THE NEW EXPERIENCE. BUT MASOOD WAS GREAT.POLITE, PROFESSIONAL AND GAVE ME ONE OF MY BEST HAIRCUTS. I LOOKED A 100% BETTER AFTER MY HAIRCUT AND BLOWDRY. The girl who manages the salon was very nice too.I am very happy with my hair cut and the result and planning to go back for color and highlights. The salon itself needs a little updating since it is stuck in the eighties style. other than that everything was great. get alittle early to find parking. Masoods work is five stars. I work as a professional Photographer and see hair people every day. Bob is like no one I have ever seen. A true master that actually cares.

To call what he does "cutting hair" is a drastic understatement. I have not seen anyone that can do what he does. Wow. Yes, that good.

I have long hair and have a hard time getting a good haircut sometimes. I had just moved to this area and looked on-line for hair salons. I saw the reviews for Masood and I made an appointment for him to cut my hair. I was not disappointed, he was fantastic! He did such a great job, he totally understood what I wanted and modified it so it would look EVEN better - he is a great stylist. I recommend this place, it has a nice friendly environment and Bob provides colorful stories and entertainment. The prices are also VERY reasonable. Overall it was very good and I was very happy with the result.

I have been trying different salons for 13 years here in LA, and Masood is the winner.. he really knows how to cut and style hair. He was on time, curteous, professional, and down to earth.
My hair is straight, fine, and cut in layers, and ends up looking just plain messy if not cut well.
I found him through these reviews, and decided that it couldnt get any worse, so why not try him.
I highly recommend anyone else to do the same. You wont be dissappointed. If the Salon was more up to date, or If I was offered a tea or water, then I wouldv'e given 5 stars, but mostly I dont really care about how the place looks, as long as my hair looks great !

One word to describe Masood: Awesome! I got a haircut from him recently and I look so much better. Before my haircut, I had long stringy hair with no shape and it didn't suit me at all. Masood told me he could do something about it and he did! He worked his magic very carefully and voila! I'm not usually a vain person, but I couldn't help admiring the haircut and how sophisticated I look! A total makeover.

I highly recommend Marine for waxing. She has done an amazing job with my legs, and I will never shave again! I don't break out at all, and she works her magic so it honestly doesn't hurt. She's incredible and really great to talk to. I wouldn't trust anyone else!
I go to Kristine for my hair, and she also does an incredible job. I have the thickest hair, and she manages to cut it in a way that makes it easy to manage, looks great, and grows out perfectly...

After getting an awful haircut from some salon in Beverly Hills I found Transcend and Kristine not only saved the day, but she gave me a cut that looked better and better as it grew in. The next time I went to see Kristine she told me the salon also offered waxing services. Marine does the best waxing I have ever experienced in my life. I've been to some top notch spas and salons in Miami, Chicago, and Boston and she is by far the best. She is professional, quick, and comforting. The overall ambience of the salon and staff is definitely a rare find.

She is just fantastic.....she is fast...she is super nice....the space is clean and always music on.

It took me forever to find someone in los angeles who knew how to do great eyebrows for a decent price . I mean there are millions of little salons you wouldn't think it would be so tough, and then i found Marine. She is amazing! She caringly nursed my eyebrows back to their beauty and health from the trauma they had gone through from pevious esthititians. I have been going to her religiously for over a year now. I feel very fortunate to have found her and relieved that i have to look no further. Thanks Marine!

I got my haircut with Masood and I totally recommend him if you like someone who is meticulous, talented, and takes pride in his work. I had messed up my hair quite a bit with having gotten it cut in chop shops, and I finally took a friend's advice and went to get my haircut with Transcend. I was all smiles afterward!

Like most women i have to go through my routine waxing experience which always is unpleasant. I tried Mariene and must admit she has a great touch and my skin does not break out anymore and she makes the whole awful experience better.By the way her facial is very relaxing and enjoyable.

Kristine has been my hair stylist for the past 7 years and she is absolutely fabulous. She both cuts and colors my hair and in addition to doing a stellar job, it's surprisingly affordable, given how expensive LA salons can be. Her haircuts last a long time and grow out really nicely. Kristine can do a funky 'do or a conservative one depending on your personal style. I get compliments on my highlights constantly. Kristine also does an amazing blow-out on my curly hair -- it's poker-straight, smooth & super-shiny by the time she's through with it. This is a salon with no pretense; it's warm & welcoming and the focus really is on beautiful hair. You'll be in excellent hands with Kristine and your hair will look fantastic. Allow for a little extra time to find parking so you won't be late for your appointment like I usually am :-)

All I can say is I won't be going back to Transcend Salon to have Bob cut my hair. I was on time for my appointment and he was over an hour late in getting to me!! He talked and talked to a customer while he had someone else in his chair that he was cutting!! He insulted me while he was cutting my hair and bragging all about himself. I would not recommend this spot!!

Every time I leave Masood's chair I feel like I've gotten a total makeover and all I can say is WOW! He knows exactly what to do with my hair! I have tried so many different stylists and I couldn't find one that got what i wanted until I came to Masood! I have always been very "attached" to my hair and I never let anyone do what they want but with him, I allow him to use his imagination and it works every time! I like the fact that he does what looks good and still takes my opinion into consideration! I recommend for everyone to check him out....at least once! You won't be sorry!!!

I recently moved to los feliz area from new york and walked in the salon and made an appointment with Masood for color correction and highlights. as usual the first time with a new stylist is scary but i must say he did a fab job. i loved it and been back twice already. Masood is a hidden talent in the los feliz area. the receptionist Giza was very professional and nice too. loved the ambiance too. try it.
