Blueberry Orange Rice Flour Pancakes are Delightful. Beautiful fruit plates. Comfort Foods Abound. The red flannel hash is wicked. Packed on weekends and holidays. Frequented by celebs staying across the street at the Clairemont Hotel. Fun, friendly staff.

This is a great brunch spot and definitely pretty 'Berkeley'. As other reviewers noted, it can be tough to get into. It's a small restaurant and I put very little faith in the host staff to respect the first come, first served rule. So many times, some older lady has come in a half hour after her name was called and was immediately jumped to the front of the line. That's just not cool.
The food is excellent though. They have a fresh baked selection of a scone and muffin du jour. I really, really love the Challah French Toast. Their omelettes are tasty too. The coffee is a little burnt, but this is again a pretty Berkeley thing.
People really like to take their kids here. There are also a lot of people who come down from the Claremont Resort.
My adivice: come on a weekday. Even then, many people are not working/on vacation.

They have truly magnificent breakfast food, I'm talking about the red flannel hash, you know. It is a terrible pain in the ass to get in, with waits up to an hour. They also have fantastic scones. There is a Peet's next door, if you want to kill time while you wait.
