This is a private training gym, and it works differently than the other gyms in town. No membership fees, but you have to train with a trainer (yours or theirs). The gym has everything you would expect, but isn't ever crowded and isn't a meat market, since you can't really go there casually.
They also have a lot of spinning classes, that are open to the public.
Highly recommended.
Paul is the GREATEST spin teacher! I had tried out Train on a groupon and didn't love the experience I had until I tried Paul's early Saturday morning "dude spin" class.
There's no BS, no psuedospiritual crap - just a cool guy, focusing on form and raising your heart rate, oh, and the totally kickass music! Paul plays the best rock music to keep you going.
I bought more sessions at Train just so I could continue taking his class. I can't wait to go back next week.
Pros: Serious gym for people, no nonsense spin classes
Cons: Parking can be rough, but street parking is OK
I would give the studio 4 stars...if it weren't for the parking. They charge $4 to park in their lot, which combined with the price of the class makes it more expensive. However, that being said, the classes here are awesome. They will kick your butt and tone it up. The teachers are always great and push you. The classes I have gone to have never been overcrowded and the bikes are in great shape.
Pros: class size, teachers
Cons: parking
I've been taking Yoga for 3 years now, and had been taking them at another place in LA previously. All I can say is, "wow", the difference is amazing. I learned so many new things in the few months of training here and than with 3 years of training at the other studio. They really do care about their clients and are really great people to boot.
