Joni's Coffee Roaster Cafe

I haven't had a good burger in awhile, and Joni's was definitely the place to get it. Who would have thought a coffeehouse would have such great food!

It isn't just coffee and burgers though, there are also a few healthy choices in the menu. Great place! I'd recommend it to anyone!

The RODFATHER burger is amazing (and it's on a pretzel roll...to die for). Their chicken salad sandwich is light and ridiculously delicious with little pieces of skinless apple in it. Lots of healthy options too if you're into that type of thing, haha.

Writing this is making me hungry, I might need to go there for lunch today! :)

I had the Rodfather for the first time the other day and I am HOOKED! The Rodfather was extremely tasty without the aftertaste. The portion was massive but didn't leave that sick tired feeling afterwards. Management totally friendly. I can't wait to have my next fix! My new hangout, and can't wait to watch NFL on Sundays there on their big screens!

Wow, I was blown away by the RodFather Burger and the Blue Cheese Burger. If you're a burger Connoisseur you have to try them both!

Food is delish! Service is fast & friendly. The short order counter style works well with the lay out & the dinning area is roomy and bright. I want to go back and try everything on the menu. Try the coffee - best in L.A.!

Incredible Whipped Horseradish Burger with Pepper Jack & yellow cheddar cheeses, Fresh Sliced Red onion, Tomato, Shredded lettuce - on Homemade Warm Pretzel Bun! - This is a must have!!

The freshest coffee in town and only place that I know of that has 100% Kona coffee. Food is well above average, and the coffee finishes the picture. Great informal environment.

If your friend's only clues to good food are white table clothes, hovering service, and high prices, meet him somewhere else. But if she actually can tell good food by the smell and taste, Joni's is the place. You order at the counter, carry your own beverage, silverware, and condiments to the wooden table, and soon someone will bring your savory food to you, finding you by calling out your name. For the quality and location, prices are moderate. BTW, no need to specify which Joni's to meet at?there is only this one, in the strip mall at Washington and Via Marina, Marina del Rey. One of my breakfast favorites is multigrain pancakes with blueberries (I like them well done and they come that way when I ask). That combo is not on the menu, but they don't care. I bring my own maple syrup and heat it in the microwave they make available to customers?you can use their non-maple syrup for free or buy small containers at the cash register. I like their Greek salad for lunch, but have also had soups and sandwiches, all good (and plenty).

Break your chains; eat at Joni's.

The coffee is amazing. You know how I know? Because I generally hate coffee but something they do makes it smell and taste great. I don't know if it's the grinds, the machines, the baristas, or maybe they have unicorns in the back sprinkling magic into every cup. You won't be disappointed.

First of all - great coffee. roasted in house and brewed by the cup...need I say more? Yes! - Second of all - really great breakfast - Third - Awesome spot to hang while reading the paper or doing a crossword puzzle while enjoying coffee and bruch on the weekend...GO!

Joni's has the best Chicken Salad with Apples. It comes with a choice of salad so it makes for a great satisfying meal. I get the spinach salad and the sandwich on wheat bread. Healthy AND Yummy! Don't miss out on the breakfast at Joni's as well... they have great healthy choices like homemade oatmeal with fresh fruit.
ps-parking is super easy because it's located in a shopping area with lots of spaces.
I drop off my dry cleaning, pop into the pharmacy and then into joni's for a quick bite. Enjoy!!

This place can get packed on weekend and even weekday mornings. Coffee served at Joni's is some of best I've had in LA, making it worth the visit when you require a caffeine fix.

Have had breakfast here several times but prices are quite pricey for what you get, but I suppose that's what it takes to pay the rent.

Inside can get real noisy and the place fills oddly with senior citizens whenever I visit. There's seating outdoors and on a sunny beach morning it's a great place to relax and enjoy several cups of awesome joe.

Cozy, friendly, and best breaksfasts ever! Part of the charm of MDR is Joni's. Don't miss the breakfast burritos, quesadilla's, and if you're a lo-carb type, the SouthBeach pancakes couldn't be better. We even bring coffee beans back to to Northern CA! Thank you Sam and Pablo!

I recently went to Joni's for brunch on a weekend. Had both the eggs benedict and the lox version. The staff were nice, the place bustling with friendly locals, etc. The food itself was rather lackluster, though, with overpoached eggs, the merest splash of uninteresting hollandaise, and a slightly soggy muffin beneath. Good bacon, though, on my friend's breakfast plate, with which he was otherwise unimpressed. Great coffee. Overall, an okay lace to stop by for a bite, but not a great breakfast.

first of all if you love coffee, then this is the place to be!!!! the best coffee ever, beats anything i have ever had in my life!! and better yet the food is all home made!! i felt so at home and comfortable when I went. this is a must try!! Beyond Excellent!!

Located right on the Venice/Marina Border, Joni's is a haven for locals and travelers alike. And for good reason too- really good food and the BEST COFFEE EVER! It is roasted right there in the restaurant (you can ever watch!) and the each cup is brewed individually using Reverse Osmosis Water- giving you the freshest coffee possible. Literally, once you go Joni's you never can go back to other coffee houses! And they said the can even have the freshly roasting beans sent to your and your family. Come Christmas, I'm having them send some to my midwestern relatives!
And the food- first they are practically putting the neighboring bagel place out of business with there homemade cream cheese and top quality lox, but that's the way they do it at Joni's homemade everything for breakfast and lunch.
My favorite breakfast dish is the Breakfast Quesadilla with chipotle dipping sauce filled with eggs, chicken sausage, mushrooms, peppers, and cheese! For Lunch I have two favorites. I like the BLT- their bacon soooooo good, baked, not fried- I don't get this sandwich anywhere else. My other love is the chicken salad and apple sandwich is well...perfect.
Go for the coffee, stay for the food, and you'll always come back for the friendly, personal atmosphere. Joni, herself is almost always there on Saturday & Sunday, greeting the locals and making friends with the newbes-

Sometimes I forget about how cool a place this is. A local hangout for boaters and neighbors walking/biking by. Multigenerational, and the place has the old fashioned, time worn, same faces inside look as a real LA icon. This is a perfect place near the beach (about 1/2 mile from Venice Pier) for breakfast. Arrive early on the weekends; it starts to get crowded around 9:00 a.m.

Yesterday, I ordered the 1/2 waffle special breakfast: 2 eggs, 4 bacon, 1/2 waffle with your choice of fresh strawberries or bananas or both. Their coffee is brewed individually cup by cup for each customer. The few extra seconds of wait is worth it. Sports fans will always find a soccer game going, and the atmosphere inside is cool. Lots of chairs and tables under the trees outside for a great place to read the Sunday paper. Find a place to park your dog or bike, and relax a while. It's right on the bike path between Venice Beach and Marina del Rey in a little strip mail called Marina Beach Shopping Center.

Pros: Great food; great coffee; good local feeling; lots of regulars

Whenever I'm in town from Philly...at least once or twice a year, I always head to Joni's. The food is wonderful and so is Joni.
