My man and I walked into this bar 5 years ago when at the time all of our bar hoping had been in Hollywood. I used to promoted local bands at The Roxy, The Hard Rock and other places so we were pretty used to the hustle of barlife. When we walked into the "Hole in The Wall bar" it reminded us both of when our parents used to attend bars with us young children and sit us in the booths with crayons and paper. Not that that can be done now, but you get the atmosphere....Day and night crowd at the "GLOW" are just that DAY - AND - NIGHT...The crowd from days do stumble into the night time and you have your remarkable seniors outlasting the youngins after midnight such as Barney and Cheif. If you come in, say hi to them.
The real entertainment at this place is Mike. Mike and Debbie. Where Mike is a smart-a**ed, no-holds-back cheesy at times joke kinda guy, Debbie is everyone's friend. Although, she too can be a smart a** at times. But they have to be, The crowd is not normal. It's the new hangout for college kids and musicians but it's the same hang-out for the family Mom and Dad. You got the convertible Bently guy and you got the tow truck driver sitting next to each other having a good time. On Monday nights - in the football season you can get the best burger ever when Andy is cooking em up in the kitchen. Mike sometimes brings something in tasty to surprise us and at Christmas he gives out an amazing home-made garlic salt, made by Mike himself.
There is a dart league on certain nights and great dart machines and video games and a jukebox provided by Dale of Unique vending.
You would think that I own the place or have stock in it the way I am talking but i don't have any part of the bar's income. I am just happy that i found a place to chill out and laugh and be myself - even without make-up most the times and sometimes in a fancy outfit coming from some dance or party.....The Tender Glow is it, you'll see me there!

Pros: Comfy, Mike and Deb, Monday night burgers, $$

Cons: When I can't find a bar stool

Did "whyjudywhy" mention that there was also a fairly good pizza joint next door that would bring food?

I went to Tender Glow based on the one review. I was not disappointed. Inexpensive drinks, Mike is indeed friendly and efficient. A great neighborhood bar that I wish were in my neighborhood!

The swinging door was a nice touch. The door and the booths are padded with red vinyl which give a nice throwback feel to the place.

Clean. While not "bright" you can clearly see the whole bar/patrons from the door (i.e., not romantic).

Darts (electronic) are also available.

I consider myself a dive bar connoisseur. Yes, that is an oxymoron and yes, I meant it as such. What isn't there to like about the TG? The best bartender (Mike), the best red pleather interior (with saloon style entry), the best strip mall locale, the best "regulars", the best jukebox. Really, just take my word for it and go. Leave your pink Ugg boots at home, though.
