My only complaint is that they don't deliver. They're more expensive than Pizza Hut, Dominos, etc. but I like their quality a lot more. It's tasty, not too heavy, not too crispy. I just wish they would deliver for those days I'm feeling

Been a fan since they opened - you cannot beat the lunch special ANYWHERE. Gourmet pizza, great selections and awesome selection of salads. Great staff and service, always something to look forward to!

Took my family there. 3 adults, a 3 year old and a baby. Great time on the patio. Got out for under $40. We had a large puttanesca and were worried about anchovies, but were reassured that is a secret off-menu request, the default is sans fish (good for my allergic wife). The pizza bread was outstandingly rustic/authetic, crunchy nutty and hand-made, no mass-produced grid-pattern on the bottom. Probably cooked on hot rocks. My boy had penne (their only pasta, but this is what was really unclear on the menu) and seemed to like it. We 3 all shared a medium arugula and pear and walnut salad, nice as you might get at an upscale place for like $8. For parents: bathroom was neat and reasonably clean. The kids were not surly and seemed to be working reasonably hard, appreciated a tip. We will go again when in the neighborhood.

Pros: Their pizza dough rocks

Cons: Menu hard to decipher even after study...

We went to Pizzicato on recommendation. The place was small dingy and dirty. The worst part was when we ordered our food and sat to eat it - the staff (and owner?) watched us and laughed as we ate as if they had done something to the food. There are way better places to get pizza in San Diego! This one is not worth the risk.

I believe the best pizza's in the world are made in New York. Something about the water and the ovens that make them so great. However, I have been pleasantly surprised by some of the pies in San Diego. There are only a very few restaurants that make great pizza in San Diego Pizzicato is one of them. They are not New York pizzas but they do come close. I have only found two other places in San Diego comparable, Knockout Pizzas in Carlsbad and Bonjournois in Solana Beach. My kids, who have become real pizza gourmands,. like Pizzicato the best of all of them.

We've been to Pizzicato a number of times and have always been pleased with the qaulity of the ffod they serve. They have a wide variety of gourmet pizza offerings, including a number of vegetarian ones. They have good salads that are pretty big and their kids meals are a good price for what you get.

You order at the register, but everything else is taken care of for you. The staff is friendly and helpful; they even let you come get the cookie dessert for the kids meal after they've eaten rather than serving it with the meal.

It has some outdoor seating, which has heating if you prefer that.
