1 Stars: Worst experience EVER at the Service Dept (by Russ E.)

Dont even bother coming into here unless you set your expectations VERY low (like lower than Jiffy Lube).
They take short cuts (which means they charge you for work they dont perform). If they damage your car, they will NOT take responsibility, even if their own employees say the damage wasnt there when you brought it in, I have firsthand knowledge of this.
They absolutely will not refund your money, they will just ask you to bring your car back in so their hack-mechanics can screw it up or just not work on it.

1 Stars: Horrible Customer Service (by Hema N.)

Had a very bad experience. Was sold a car with 4 new tires (supposedly) on the paper. When I got a flat tire, the tire experts told me the tire has now expired and I'd have to change the flat tire. They wouldn't plug it for safety and legal reasons. I walked into Toyota to understand why they would give me 2003 manufactured tires when I bought the car in 2006 and claimed in my receipt they would put in "new" tires. After 2 hours of waiting and scrutiny, they said they are not responsible for the tires. And now they don't have a record of ever installing the tires nor would they take responsibility of installing a 2003 year tires on a car bought in 2006. Very insensitive to Customer safety and trust. You would think an organization would care atleast for its reputation. Well, no! They are NOT RESPONSIBLE!

1 Stars: SUNNYVALE TOYOTA - BUYER BEWARE (by John F.)

I bought a used 93 Toyota for my daughter last week from Sunnyvale Toyota. I thought it was worthwhile paying a premium compared to a private party purchase since a dealer would be more likely to stand behind their product. I was sadly mistaken. Although they advertise "Every Vehicle comes with a 7-day/700-mile Exchange Policy", when the engine overheated and was declared "ruined" after 744 miles, Sunnyvale Toyota said there was nothing they could do. So, a $4200 purchase was a *total loss* in less than a week.

So much for their 119-point inspection.

4 Stars: Happy with service and selection (by Carla B.)

We purchased our Corolla here a couple of years ago and got a good deal from a salesman who was easy and honest to work with, not pushy. We've taken the car back for normal regular service and have been happy with the professionalism, efficiency and friendliness of the service department. We would recommend this dealership to anyone.

1 Stars: Irresponsible service department (by stellvia)

I took my Toyota Prius there for scheduled maintenance and when I got it back the windshield had been cracked! Of course, I pointed it out to them right away, and even when looking at the vehicle inspection sheet they filled out it's clear the windshield was marked as being fine at first, but then that is crossed out and the windshield is marked as being cracked. Well, obviously that was because they were the ones who cracked it. However, they refused to fix my windshield because they claim the break started from a ding that was already in the windshield. I was unaware of there being any ding, but I know they don't cost that much to repair. Once it cracks and spreads though, you have to replace the whole windshield. But the Sunnyvale Toyota Service Center refuses to take resposibility for cracking my windshield. I am very disappointed. I expected better from a place associated with Toyota.

1 Stars: most dishonest service department (by Citysearch User)

Dishonest about the estimate . Didn't offer free car rental even though I qualified. ( I found out later from their website about the offer). I would not recommend anyone to go there. (or be careful if you have to).

2 Stars: Mixed feeling (by abc x.)

I have mixed feeling about Toyota Sunnyvale's service department.

For the good part, they are quick in greeting you. As soon as you drive in, somebody will come by and greet you. The actual paperwork to get things started won't take long either. This is better than many other dealers, where I have waited half hour or more on both check in and check out.

People are friendly as well. They smile to you, make jokes, make you feel that they are your friends.

Now the not that good part. I had trouble to start my 99 Camry. I went there 3 times!

First time, they said it might be the battery. So they installed a new battery for me. I went home OK. In just couple of days though, I had trouble start the car again. So I went back to the dealer again. This time they said starter was bad. So they changed the starter (by now I've spent $600+). I came home, and it failed to start again. I had to come to the dealer a third time. This time they said the battery they installed the first time was a "defective product". They changed the battery again, and promised this time it will work (I yet need to get the car back).

I really don't like the fact that they let the car out 2 times without noticing that the battery they gave me was bad. I ended up making 6 trips to the dealer - that's a big time sucker. The gave me the explanation that sometimes when you test it at the dealer, the battery may just work, but later it may fail. It is not impossible. But hey, for two times, it went bad very quickly after the car left the dealer. I had thought that a professional service center should have caught such obvious problems... or maybe I'm wrong?

3 Stars: Good selection (by elaine w.)

Good selection of Toyota vehicles, however we didn't like the customer service. The salesperson and manager mocked us after we tried to get a bigger discount and the salesperson seemed really cocky. They do have good policies - we actually returned the car after having it for a day (they give you a three day refund policy) but only because we found the exact same car for 1000 less at another dealership.

5 Stars: Great service department, very professional! (by Brenda K.)

This dealership really cares about the customer, and has done a great job servicing our vehicles. They only replace something when necessary, and charge less than other dealerships in the area for service. They find problems quickly, and communicate well with their customers.

Their sales people are professional, polite, and competent. I wish I had bought my vehicles here!!!!

PROS: Professional, communicates well
CONS: None
