Nestled in the heart of Haight Ashbury, this hotel has managed to keep a torch lit for the days of peace, love, and long hair. Definitely fun and funky.

When my husband and I stayed here I was so excited--that is until we got checked into our room. We stayed in the Red Forest Room. We chose that room because it actually has a private bathroom in it. (Keep in mind when you stay here, most of the rooms do not have their own private bathroom. You have to share it with the other guests.) The room is old, smells musty and is very dark. The bed was so uncomfortable and the comforter and sheets seemed dirty. The sheets had that grayish color to them. The bathroom is tiny and has hardly any water pressure.

We didn't let this place ruin our trip totally, however I will never stay here again. Nor do I recommend it to anyone else.

PROS:
CONS: Dirty, smells musty, no water pressure in the shower

This is a great little bed and breakfast tucked into the middle of San Francisco's famous Haight district. Each of the rooms is individually themed and decorated, so you can stay in the Flower Power Room, the Peacock Room or the Summer of Love Room. Be sure to visit the Inn's website to see pictures of all the rooms. Rates are reasonable. Down below is the Peace Cafe where delicious and healthy vegetarian fare is served, as well as the Peace Arts gift shop, featuring unique and beautiful artwork focusing on the ideas of peace and love. Gift items such as t-shirts, mugs and posters are imprinted with the art.

PROS: Unique, reasonable rates
CONS: None
