As i approached my 57Th birthday I decided I better get into shape. A BIKE I thought. After going to another store I finally walked into this great establishment and was helped by the owner. You want to be helped by the best and in no time Mike had me on a Trek Hybrid whirling around in the back parking lot. It's a great bike and the whole experience was a very pleasant one. Thanks mike and Chain Reaction

After visiting Mike's Bikes (Palo Alto) and Summit Bicycles (Burlingame), I was pleasantly surprised to find a low-key, friendly, and relaxed store. As beginner cyclist I was fairly intimidated by the process of purchasing a bike, especially since I was only willing to purchase a quality low-end bike ($700 range) and don't understand bike gibberish.

When I went to Mike's Bikes and Summit and felt intimidated and pressured to make a purchase. They also did not carry any low-end bikes -- their bikes started at $1000+.

On a friend's recommendation, I visited Chain Reaction and was not disappointed. Being female and petite, they were meticulous about finding me a bike that fit me. They made appropriate adjustments and shortened the stem a bit. The really cool thing is that they have a 4-mile course for folks to try bikes out on. Some of the road is smooth, while some of it's rough. There were ups and downs too. Realistic road biking.

They offer a free tune up after 200 miles.Love this place -- would purchase from them again.

I like to bike, but I'm no athlete. I stopped into this store to pick up a new bicycle lock and left with some other goodies, including a bicycle light and a tire patch kit. The place was cozy, well organized, and the people working there were friendly and low-key. I would return.

PROS: Had what I needed, good sales, well organized, low-key & friendly
CONS: Might be a little intimidating to novices.
