A great spa. The mudbaths and massages are awesome and the 4 mineral pools are wonderfully relaxing. You can even pay $25 a day to swim in the mineral pools if you don't want to stay in the hotel. I love the hotel personally, but they do have a minimum night stay on weekends.

The couples mudbaths are to die for. If you have never tried one, you have to do it. It is so relaxing and quite the romantic experience. It is a natural hot springs spa, so the water has the "natural" hot springs smell. Fabulous experience.

For day use at their 4 pools (hot tub, kiddie pool, lap pool and warm mineral pool) arrive early and reserve your place at the pool when the office opens at 8am. All pool users have to be present at that time so, everyone in the party must be there to get a pass. The fee is $25 per person and the mineral water is worth it. Children under 2 are free.

Calistoga Spa is one place that my sister-in-law and I go to once a year to rejuvenate. It's not a fancy, she-she spa, but it does the trick. The rooms are actually kind of shoddy, but very clean. They have a kitchenette, so we buy a few things to much on. The first day we check in and head straight for the pools. A natural hot spring, comfortable temp pool, then the cooler lap pool and the hot tub. we spend hours talking and floating, cooling off and warming up. Then a few blocks away is town and we shop and eat dinner. The next day we wake up leisurely and head to the spa. I have tried the mud bath but don't really care for it. Too many nooks and crannies in the body that the mud gets into. We sit in the mineral bath and then the steam room and next the massage. I have been there many times and I will say that the entire staff is wonderful. Can't wait for this Sept. to do it again.
