We have been going back to the Foothill House Bed & Breakfast for several years now. Darla is very friendly and is quick to offer you suggestions on dining and area wineries. The rooms are large and clean and the breakfasts are wonderful.

After a long, rainy week, walking into the Evergreen Suite with the wood fire, canopy bed and the sherry and cookies was heavenly. In the morning, we opened the drapes and discovered a massive deck with gorgeous flowers and a little waterfall which was beautiful. Pictures don't do justice to this room. It's huge and it has every amenity, including wireless internet and an antique writing desk. There are all kinds of reading materials in the small library over the day bed, and lots of books and magazines about the area attractions available.

As mentioned, the cocktail hour is fun and informative and the breakfasts are scrumptious. The flavors and presentation are what you would expect from a Zagat rated restaurant. Darla provided ice water in a portable tote for our days of tasting, and gave us many tips for places to visit and things to see. She has a well-deserved reputation in the area! She also helped us with the shipping of our wine on the last day. Unfortunately, we missed our last breakfast, but she brought us coffee, fruit, juice and danish pastries at dawn. We got a small bag of those famous cookies for the road as well!

I didn't get a chance to peek in the other rooms, but I'm sure they were all perfect. People coming and going from here were all smiling. Napa Valley is very busy and parts of it are just swamped with tour buses, limos and tipsy bachelorette parties. However, Calistoga still has a lot of charm and is home to many small wineries which produce great wines. There is some traffic noise here, but it's not nearly as bad as places along Highway 128. I can't understand why people would spend top dollar in St. Helena when you have this gem up the road.

We've visited this area four times in four years, and we've stayed at B&Bs all over the world. This was one of our favorite places ever and I think anyone would love staying here. I know we did!

I almost hate to write a good review...I want to keep this place all to myself! My husband and I have traveled far and wide and, without a doubt, this is in the TOP 5 of places we have stayed. Darla is a wonderful innkeeper and a gracious hostess. We stayed in the Quail's Roost cottage behind the B&B and it was wonderful! The breakfasts were absolutely incredible - and Darla was kind enough to share all her recipes! She even packed a cooler with water bottles for us when we ventured out to nearby wineries. The wine and cheese gathering every evening was also excellent. If you didn't see a wine you liked, Darla was back in a flash with your preference. If you are touring wine country, forget the rest...stay at the best B&B in Calistoga. We will definitely be back to the Foothill House! Jayne & Steve

The Foothill house is like being at your home away from home. Darla, the Innkeeper is extremely kind and attentive but not intrusive. The Quails Roost is very comfortable and quiet with a private patio and waterfall view from bathroom...singing birds will wake you with the sunrise and a yummy breakfast is delivered to your cottage every morning. We will definitely be back.

You will leave Foothill house feeling rejunvenated. The owner/Innkeeper, Darla, is absolutely charming and makes you feel right at home, though she is not the least bit intrusive. We found little treats and surprises throughout our stay, from the robes and slippers in the wardrobe, to the cookies and sherry left for bedtime. We were even given a cooler of waters to take with us during our day's adventures! We can't wait to get back to get back to the amazing breakfast, beautiful room, and of course, Darla!
