Worst hospital and try to avoid it as much as you can. Went to their ER with a cut finger. Sit there for 3 hours and received no treatment. Then my finger just stopped bleeding. Decided I don't need to tolerate the messy ER any more, told

This place, is a sham! i went there having chest pains and because my blood pressure was very high 160/95. When I got there I explained to the receptionist I was short of breath and the rest of the complaints. VERY NASTY she told ME have a seat. Fill out these papers, I said can you check my blood pressure first please she said no! You should have called 911 if you were in that kind of trouble. I left after filling out the paperwork, since I had been there for 20 mins. This hospital charged my insurance 250, when they NEVER saw me. I left and went to Lakewood hospital. But since they lied and said they evaluated me, I was stuck paying my portion of the bill. WOW! Stay away from this place VERY unprofessional, the nurse also Raised his voice at me when I stuck my head in to ask him to check on me to see if I was ok since I was feeling so badly.... So much for patient care...

Pros: close

Cons: everything else, small, terrible nurses

I've been to this hospital twice, both on emergency ambulance transport. I didn't even know it existed until the paramedics asked me who my insurance carrier was, and I told them it was Kaiser Permanente. The conversation went something like this:

"Ma'am, what's your hospital?"
"Kaiser Bellflower."
*pause*
"Well, we'll just see where dispatch sends us."
*pause for dispatch*
"Ma'am, we'll take you to La Palma Intercommunity. It's the closest."
"Will that be all right with my insurance?"
"Yes, Ma'am. And honestly, we don't like to take people to the Bellflower hospital."

On the first visit, I was 6 months pregnant (late 2008) and had accidentally eaten some bad food. The emergency room staff was relatively quick, pleasent, and sympathetic. I am, of course, comparing my experience to the experiences I've had at Kaiser Permanente, which is rather like comparing a cheap chocolate-substance bar to Godiva. But hey, you go with what you know.

The second time I got ambulanced to La Palma was in the middle of delivery. We were whisked through emergency, where they they asked my husband some basic questions to get me admitted and left the details for later. They contacted Kaiser for my medical records and handled everything nicely.

The doctor who caught the baby listened to me when I told him what I didn't want him to do, and unlike Kaiser, nobody got in my face telling me to count to ten and push. They accepted my doula with no problem.

The hospital was not busy, but much nicer than Kaiser Bellflower, where I delivered my first child. The facility was cleaner, more modern, and upgraded. The nurses were very responsive and friendly, they let my husband stay in the room with me since there was no patient to use the second bed. The nursing staff did NOT wake me every 15 minutes to either tell me they were going to take the baby (and unlike Kaiser, not return for 3 hours), and they treated us well.

I wish I'd had my 1st baby there.

I normally don't write reviews, but I felt obligated to put my experience out here so that I can warn others so they don't have the same experience as I did.

I went in emergency with an injured and locked knee, because it was the closest hospital to my home. When I went in they give me paper work to sign, and due to my condition at that time I didn't paid attention to what I was signing, because I trusted them.

Hosiptal staff in emergency wsa not busy at all but still it took 30 minutes to see a doctor, and other staff who attended me was not very friendly.

Anyhow, after few months I received a bill which included a charge for a knee immobilizer that the hospital staff tried to give me while I was there but I didn't accept it because my knee was locked and it was of no use for me.

But these cheater used the form I signed which shows that I took that item, I was only left with two options either to pay them or get myself into legal fight, which of course I don't have time for or the resources. After going back and forth for 6 months, I gave up and end up paying for something I refused to receive.

They are not trustworthy people, and I won't advice going to this place, unless you don't have an option.

I would only come here because it is close or if I was in an emergency. Their facilities are cramped and unclean- the staff is inefficient and treats its patients badly. My mother was a patient here once, and she definitely did not enjoy the staff service.

I was taken there after an accident. This hospital is just too expensive. Staff were like they don't care. When I was taken to x-ray room Nurse didn't even help me to do my full body x-ray she expected me to move around as if I was able to move. I was invovled in huge crash so moving was beyond me. They later sent me bills which was ridiciously HIGH! too expensive.

My sister was in car accident and was taken to this hospital. Staff there were very slow to take care of the patient. We had to constantly keep pushing the Doctors because she was bleeding from her forehead and they didn't do anything until my elder sister literally yelled at them. Nurses there were very rude and impolite. We went there because ambulance took my sister there else we would never go there...especially that I know what kind of care you get. Once she was discharged, we got huge medical bills for things which were not even done properly. They were not concerned however, we had to pay the bills, regardless. I wouldn't recommend this hospital if you're takinga accident related case. TOO SLOW

PROS: None
CONS: Too slow, rude staff, doesn't care about patient, expensive

I think my doctor was John Kim or John Cho. It was cheap because of the insurance and they are a regular place. They offer magazines in the waiting room, but there's nothing really special about them.
