The comments by John b are puzzling. I've boarded at the Cat House Hotel for years and think its an excellent place. When I talked to the staff about John b's posting, they were shocked and indicated that they had never heard about such a problem from any customer. So why would the customer not complain nor write a post, but their neighbor posts such a negative review? Is this post for real? Is it a competitor trying to eliminate the competition? Ah, the beauty of the anonymous web!

I have been boarding my cat at the Cat House Hotel for 2 years every time I leave town. I know while I'm gone, my best friend is having a good time playing with friends, and getting loved by their loving, competant staff! They have very nice accomidations, and they let the cats out of their rooms all day to play outside by the bubbling fountain, or up in the trees fashioned all over the ceiling. My cat often doesn't want to come home when I pick him up.
In reference to the last review, which states that they put tape around the cats necks, as a repeat costumer, I know that is not true. They have paper collars which are used if your cat doesn't have it's own collar, but they are deffinatly not tape. When they are busy I can imagine they need a way to tell all the cats apart. It's a shame the collar irritated her cat, but I'm sure this is not the norm.
I always feel secure and confident when I leave my cat at The Cat House Hotel!

Pros: Great care with a sweet staff, lots of space to play

Cons: I miss my cat while I'm gone!

I left my cat here for a week while I went on vacation. When I returned he had had a piece of tape with his name put around his neck (quite tightly) which I had not been informed would happen. When I removed it I saw that he had developed a sore and a huge patch of fur was missing (a ring that went halfway around his neck). When I phoned to complain, the owner blamed me at first, claiming he'd come in like that. I pointed out he was an indoor cat and did not wear a collar, that this man had not been present at the check in, and that I was surprised not to get any kind of apology or customer service when I had just paid $120 and been given back an injured cat. He then tried to tell me that it was the cat's fault for trying to remove the tape. I asked why the cat had the tape in the first place when I had not been informed this would happen or asked if it was okay. He said they put it on all cats which is not true as I saw many cats without collars or tape in the establishment when I dropped him off and collected the cat.
In short, they injured my cat, placed a tight tape collar on him without my permission, denied any responsibility for their actions and then tried to blame me for their mistake. I would most DEFINITELY not recommend them. Since this unfortunate experience I have heard a few similar stories from other cat owners and wish I had checked references more thoroughly before.

Pros: pleasant facility, some staff very sweet

Cons: cat injured, owners irresponsible

The Cat House is a great little place located in the heart of downtown. They have a full service cat sitting service and from the moment you walk in to the business you know that your kitties will be in safe keeping. The staff is very accommodating and friendly. And the facilities are well kept.

The Cat House provides boarding for your cats while you're on vacation or away. The facility is set up so that the cats can be put into their own kennel, or if they are a social cat, they can roam free and play with the other cats in the extensive play area that makes up most of this facility. They are generally pretty busy, but they always seem to be able to make room for my cats, even at the last minute. The prices are great, the staff is loving and wonderful. I always feel comfortable leaving my babies there and knowing there are some wonderful women making sure they're fed and played with.
