Ray's Mexican Restaurant

Ray's is awesome! The people that run it are really nice and everything I've had has been good. The food is affordable and fresh and the restaurant always looks clean and well taken care of. I'm a big fan of the Chile Rellenos and potato tacos. Place your order to go and walk a half a block to the liquor store. Get a six pack of Negro Modelo and you're well on your way to a kick ass evening.

great food great prices: I have been to this restaurant probably 100 times. Everything on the menu (with the exception of the tilapia which has hardly any meat on it) is excellent. I hate to call it a taco shop because it is miles above a taco shop in quality, but it has taco shop prices. They make a mean vegetable tamale and they have several other vegetarian options such as potato rolled tacos and burritos. The owner is extremely friendly and usually takes your order. Your order comes out fast and hot. They deliver, too, and it's quick. It is the best "taco shop" in San Diego, better than a lot of restaurants, too. Excellent, just don't order the tilapia.
