Pretty cool little bar with a dim, swanky-ish vibe. Often times someone is spinning cool vinyl here.

This is my favorite bar in LA because it isn't sceney, but its still a scene with its chill atmosphere, strong drinks and good music, its my go-to bar

Me and my friends always go here to pre-drink before hitting the bigger clubs, also not a bad place to end the night. I was also surprised recently when I found out they have food, even more shocked that it was good. I have no idea what

A dive bar with a trendy feel. How is that possible? When you enter, it seems like you're entering your typical dive bar, then you hear the great music, (DJ, not jukebox) and see the full service bar and realize The Dime is different. A nice, eclectic group of poeple, with occasional celebrity sightings. Great music on Wednesdays! The only problem is the extremely large crowds on some nights make it hard to move around. Worth checking out!

This place was once so magical. But now has become a haven for pretentiousness. It amazes me how a place the size of a USC dorm room would require a door man. AVOID AVOID AVOID. The place is always crowded to capacity because it is so

A pretentious bouncer that takes his frustration of bad auditions out on you. Your best bet is on a week night.

Just found this place after going to Winstons. Dark, NY vibe and it's a total LA mixed crowd, which is a great thing. Some skaters and some beautiful women. Staff was nice and the drinks are the right price. I'm going to be a regular.

The drink are moderately priced, but don't expect to sit if you don't have a reservation. There is always a line but it doesn't take long. The place is always crowded and all hollywood people. It is fun, but not with a large group.

As the editorial says, its fun neighborhood bar with neighborhood people (finally!).

Me and a friend of mine stopped by on Saturday night for a couple of drinks at around 11. The seating was pretty much gone by that point. Its nice and cozy inside with good drinks (although it has a *weak* beer list). Bartend is good, not L.A. snobby. Had I found some seating we would have stayed. The people are down to earth and not at all obnoxious. Definitely not fratty or prissy: you can walk in with jeans or nice clothes.

I will definitely be back.

A great escape from the scene at Lola's and the parking headache at Farmer's Market. It's right across the street from Canter's so if you mop up too much liquour at the bar, then just walk across the street for food before the end of the night. The only bad thing about Max's is the size--it's way tiny, so get there early to score a seat at the bar or one of the few booths.
