NEVER go here!

by lars u.

We came in on a slow day (only 3 other tables in the entire resturant.) When we got there, we were told that there was no chicken in the resturant and that anything with chicken was not availible. We ordered for 4 and waited over 30 minutes before asking where out food was. Two of the four sandwiches came out and the other two never made it to the table. We asked to speak to the manager, and a red-head said that she was the owner. We told her we waited over 30 minutes and she called us liars and told us if we don't like her rules to leave... We got up from the table and walked out. I HAVE NEVER BEEN TREATED SO RUDE EVER IN A RESTURANT IN MY ENTIRE LIFE... The bites of food that I had were nothing special. NOBODY SHOULD EVER PARTONIZE THIS RESTURANT AS THE PEOPLE ARE RUDE AND COULD CARE LESS ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS!

'LOTZA MOZZA" IS "LOTZA B.S."

by Gary B.

The restaurant had participated in a display-ad promotion, which we decided to use, which read: LASAGNA, SPAGHETTI W/MEATBALLS, FETTUCCINI ALFREDO(SERVED W/ SOUP OR SALAD AND HOMEMADE BREADSTIX)$8.95 (Not exactly the greatest of all "deals")Available Monday-Thursday only-Must present couponNotation: Early Bird Specials 4pm-7pm Daily Lunch Specials: $5.95This strategy is an excellent means of introducing ones facility to those who might, otherwise, not indulge in it. The initial welcome, with its rather disappointing stainless steel tables and chairs and a "not-so-Italian ambiance, was easy to overlook. The fact that we were there to dine on a Monday evening, equipped with their coupon, they contradicted the dinner offer by saying it was no longer valid. Strangely enough, I still have that very coupon offer and there is nothing indicating any expiration date. Rather than argue about it, or expect their graciousness (or even hospitality) in extending us this perfectly legitimate offer, we went ahead (against better judgment) and placed another order (which, by the way is self-serve!). When it arrived (they actually had someone deliver it and then we never saw her again throughout the meal), I admit I was impressed with the size of the portion and the food, itself, was actually good! After returning home, I phoned the restaurant on the following afternoon to discuss this issue. The owner, who was, apparently, the keeper of the cash register (watching every penny that came in)refused to divulge his name and I found him to be unnecessarily defensive and argumentative, at which time I decided to end the conversation.Oddly enough, I formerly owned and operated an Italian restaurant in the Los Angeles area (as a sole proprietor) and his conduct was something in which I would never have lowered my standards to.The bottom-line is that a restaurant needs to be recognized for having more than just good food.It is about customer service and appreciation, as well as its owner and staff maintaining a pleasant and friendly personality - none of which (sadly) prevailed. I'm hoping this was, in the interest of their survival, an isolated incident; however, it would not be my choice or recommendation to again patronize this establishment. Palm Springs is largely a "closely-nit" community and, with the abundance of good restaurants, one does not need to indulge in this attitude and experience!!
