There are so many good clinics in the Redding area - the only people who go here just must not know any better. Sunset is expensive, do not help with any insurance papers or billing, the desk staff is rude, and the old geezer (Jeffrey Dalmer) is a real work of art. I can see where the staff gets their 'tude.

After treating my 6yrs daughter about 4 days earlier for severe stomach pains, I return back but had forgotten her insurance card in the rush to get her back down to them- we had the policy numbers and phone number, and they refused to treat her...

We are talking about a 6yrs old girl in pain...

Disgusting- The receptionist a Elder Red haired woman , was rude, arrogant . Her comment - thats our policy... disgusting

I am totally amazed the refused to help a 6yrs old girl in pain

In April 2011 I had a bad fall off my mountain bike. I had no idea where to go, but I definitely did not want to wait for 3 hours, or more, in the Emergency Room. I had heard great things about Sunset Urgent Care and fellow riders told me to go to Sunset, and sure enough they did not dissappoint. From the smiling receptionist to the provider who cared for me, the service was top notch. The X-ray technician was careful and gentle with my "owies," and luckily I did not break anything. With so many great trails at Whiskey Town, it's nice to know that Sunset is nearbye. However, I would drive across town to go to Sunset Urgent Care - I wouldn't go anywhere else!

Injured my ankle/calf and went to Sunset since my doctor was closing down for the day. I hobbled in and was seen after about 20 minutes. The physician (MD or PA?) ordered x-rays of the ankle and calf, and they were very careful to put me in a wheelchair. When the x-rays were pronounced negative I was handed a paper with instructions for ice and ibuprofin and a diagnosis of calf bruise. I was cautioned to go to the ER if the swelling got so bad that I could no longer feel my toes, then sent out the back door because they were closed. I didn't have the oppoirtunity to ask the doctor any questions or further explain the pain. It took me several minutes to get around to the front, leaning on sign posts and parked cars for stability.
Four weeks later I'm scheduled for surgery thanks to my completely ruptured achilles tendon. If Sunset had given me a proper diagnosis I would be several weeks into recovery. If they were unable to diagnose they should have referred me to someone who could. I've never before been upset at a provider, but I truly feel that Sunset dropped the ball on examining and diagnosing my injury.

I went in with the most horrid sinus infection. It was on a Sunday morning. I was third in line. I waited about 15 minutes, was shown into an exam room. The doc was attentive, listened to me, did his exam, told me how to take the script for an antibiotic that he was writing. When I asked for a yeast infection preventative, he prescribed that for me as well. I took the prescriptions to have them filled. I thought it would be faster than needing to burden the busy nursing staff. I am definitely recommending this Sunset Urgent Care site.

My first visit at Sunset Urgentcare was pretty good: friendly staff, not a super long wait, and decent enough doctor care. I even went back, though it was out of my way. However, this last time I went in for UTI symptoms, tested positive, and was given an antibiotic. I received a call four days later, after I finished the antibiotics, and was told my UTI bacteria was resistant to the antibiotic I just got done taking. I was prescribed a second. The next day a yeast infection started. Yay for me! When I called Sunset at 8am sharp Rene took a message for me to give to the MD. After an hour and half I finally called back only to have Rene say, "oh yeah, it says on your discharge paper work if your not getting better or worse you need to come back in." To which I responded, "I am not referring to the UTI, that is better. I am having a yeast infection from all the antibiotics." She still told me to come in. I refused and told her that the MD needs to call me back. Thus far no call back...
It is very well known A LOT of women develope yeast infections from antibiotic treatment. Unbelievable that I have to be in pain and suffer because Dr. Martin Dawson wants my co-pay and ins. money.

I have had a fever of 102 for 3 days. Went to Sunset Urgent Care, I was sitting in the lobby for 45 min waiting to be seen. When I finally got into a room the nurse took one look at my throat and said "oh god!" Didn't even tell me what was wrong, my daughter went to the nurses station and asked if I had strep, she said it looks like it so she is going to treat me for it. After that the MA came in and told me to take tylenol or Motrin for pain, I explained to her that I have been doing that for 3 days. She looked at me and said " well keep taking it" Didn't offer to get the doctor, or to give me anything else. Since when do we treat people because we think they have something? especially when there is a swab that can be done. After I was leaving I asked if she could call in my perscription, she told me that you cant call that one in. When I got to the pharmacy, I asked if that could have been called in... He said yes! I will never go back there again, whoever owns the place should read these...

I went to the Sunset Urgent Care Center because I didn't want to wait in the ER, however, I had to wait over 3 hours just to get into a room, then another hour in the room. When I met the health provider, she didn't even introduce herself to me, nor address me by name. I know that practices get busy, but there is no excuse for such bad bedside manner. Will never return there again!
