I've been to other horse riding stables in San Diego and LA. This stable is in another league! The customer service was great starting with Loretta who actually gave me one of her own jackets to wear (it was one of the few really cold days in SD) on the trail ride. The wanglers on the ride were so helpful and informative you just knew they really loved their job and the horses. It looks like a great place to have your horse.

If you are looking for a dusty, hot "nose to tail" walk this is for you. Loretta was not a very friendly hostess at all and although we arrived when Sweetwater (poorly) advertised opening (8:30 a.m.) we had to call them at 8:45 a.m. from the "Welcome Center" then watched and waited when the hostess arrived and sat in the office listening to her phone messages before she could help us to finally find out there is not a ride until 10:30 daily - which we were informed is the case every day. This ride was fit for a true beginner or a very young child only. Fortunately though if you do find yourself here just to be back in the saddle or just because you are a horse person and need to be around the horses the two young ladies on hand to help guide the ride and act as "wranglers" do have very energetic personalities and do their best to make the best of a very boring situation.

I am an older woman who has just recently started taking ridding lessons...

Both the instructors and staff are very caring and patient in dealing with both young and older riders.. New skills are learned with every lesson..Safety for both rider and horse gives one the confidence you need. Both the horses and staff are very well cared for. I would highly recommend this barn for both young and older riders..You are in good hands with the staff and horses of sweetwater Farms.

I have two daughters that ride at Sweetwater Farms. It all began when they went on a trail ride at Sweetwater Farms a few years ago. They wanted to take lessons since the guide and horses were so nice. The friendly instructors are very patient and work very well students no matter what their age or skill level. To top it off, their prices are very reasonable for the excellent instruction provided. I would definitely recommend this barn for trail rides or anyone wanting to learn to ride horses.

My daughter and her cousin have been campers in Sweetwater Horse Camp for the past 2 summers and are returning this year. They both have such a great time while developing new confidence and skills. The camp staff is really good at making all the campers feel comfortable and an important part of the camp.

I took my Girl Scout troop to Sweetwater to spend cookie money and earn a badge. We did the one hour ride and a farm tour. The girls ( we had ten) had a blast. They learned so much and are still talking about it two weeks later. I thought the staff was very nice and very knowledgable. We are really thinking about do their weekend camp.

We brought five teen girls for a birthday celebration. Wrong decision. We arrived on time but wanted a few minutes to eat lunches ( I had just bought McDonalds and thought the girls could eat there at the picnic tables) while the paperwork was being concluded. "Loretta" told us we had to return the lunches to our car because wind would blow it everywhere and we had to ride right away. She was very rude. The trails went nowhere but in a small circle with no scenery. Terrible place. Worst $175 I spent.
