Chef Yi-Fan??s passion and love for food reflects in every delectable bite he personally prepares. The food at Brenart is absolutely amazing... Everything on the menu is delicious and is changed seasonally using on the freshest of produce and ingredients. I suggest trying the ribeye.

The menu is inspired from different regions throughout Europe and Asia and the menu reveals artistic displays of unique and exquisite dishes that will capture your taste buds.

Tired of the same old chain offerings in Old Towne Pasadena. Go one block north of Colorado to 53 East Union and you will find this hidden treasure. Brenart, under new ownership of Chef Yi-Fan, provides foodies with creativity normally found only further west, and at a fraction of the price. Sunday brunch is served from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and tell me where else can you have steak frites or moules frites for just 10.00? The fresh market salad comes looking like a piece of art. Lunch offerings include a selection of soups, salads and sandwiches, all with creative flair. The fish sandwich currently features halibut with pesto, tomatoe and carmelized onion. How about a smith burger with truffle essence. Dinner currently features fried zucchini blossoms on the appetizer list, a selection of creatively executed soups and salads, and seafood and meat entrees. Seared salmon with fideo tomatoe sauce, baked whole trout with braised kale, ribeye with gratin of shitake mushroom, new zealand racke of lamb with fine herbs gnocchi are among some of the dinner offerings. The chef and staff are very friendly and service is great. The menu changes to feature the best of what is in season. The wine list is smaller, but offers a good selection that will please even the most discerning. Purchase a bottle to bring for your meal at Mission Wine in South Pasadena and Chef Yi will waive the corkage. This is truly a most welcome and refreshing addition to the Pasadena dining scene.

The food was not worth what is charged. The roasted chicken was dry and bland and small and $14. The mojitos were good, but worth $10? No. The tamal was good, but small. The food was fine, but considering what they charged for everything, not worth the money. The fire alarm went off and stayed on for half of our meal.

PROS: Nice decor.
CONS: Overpriced.

I've had lunch at Cafe Atlantic twice. I had the pork leg on my first trip and the strip steak sandwhich on my second trip. Both meals were very tasty (although the sandwhich was a little dry)and, I'm told from a cuban friend, relatively authentic.

The service during my first visit was fine, although not exactly lickety split. On my second visit it was downright horrible. It took 10 minutes for our drinks to arrive; our food was slow coming out; and when it did, they messed up one of the orders and completely forget to prepare another. The woman whos order was forgotten didn't get her food until a good 20 minutes late and no one from the Atlantic staff was particularly apologetic and so reparations (e.g. comp'ing the dish) were offered.

PROS: tasty, authentic cuban food
CONS: mediocre to poor service
