Ratings_icons Friendly Service & Consistent Offerings

This place is always crowded with locals, especially during televised sporting events. The owner and staff are all very friendly and welcoming. While the food is typical for a sports bar kind of place, it's always tasty and consistently good. I love their Southwest Chicken Salad.

Ratings_icons Just OK

Bozo C.

Hotel ad said they were "where the locals go" and had the "best baby back ribs in town". I was starving and staying nearby, so I thought I'd give it a try. Monday night football - restaurant less than half full. I ordered the half-rack of baby back ribs with 2 sides. The meat had an off flavor and the sauce was very bland. The sides were OK. Beer selection was OK. Attentive, friendly service.

The hotel ad had said they would comp me a free appetizer (frozen reheated jalepeno poppers - $4.50), but they decided to comp me $2.12 instead and when I asked them about it, they said they comped me a beer (~ $4 - guess again).

I'll be here about once a week for the next 3 months - but I won't return until I check the other dozen or so places nearby first. One of them is bound to be better. . .

Ratings_icons Nice play to get a burger

Would recommend for a quick bit to eat. Everyone was nice and the service was pretty good even though they were crowded. The food was good and the price not that expensive.

Ratings_icons Nice option

Matt Denny's is the type of place you go where anything goes. No need to dress up or down, come as you are. The bar area that always seems active and full. The food while not gourmet is always predictable and good. There are always a number of families with kids each time we go, and a separate area for larger groups. The steak and ale pie is a good option for a rainy evening.

Ratings_icons Ok atmosphere, Ok food

I thought this place was just satisfactory. The restaruant just looks and feels like any other bar-type restaurant establishment. The food was just as average. I ordered the tri-tip sandwich. While it was extremely big, the taste was just bland to me. I had to add salt and other condiments for it to taste better. Overall, this place is just average to me.

Ratings_icons Great place for drinks!

It's fun. A true pub with all the food and beer to match. Bring some friends, watch the game and enjoy the kick back atmosphere. Not recommended for dates but any celebration will do.

Pros: Drinks, Staff

Cons: Parking

The tri-tip sandwich is very good, almost as good as they make in Santa Barbara area. And they have Guiness. High back booths so you won't be accosted by unruly children. Very friendly atmosphere and casual.

Ratings_icons Great Patio

ginac

Started by Crown City Brewery alum this is a great place to have a beer and a hearty meal. I am a big fan of the tri-tip sandwich, my Mom loves the Rueben. Their chili and clam chowder are also crowd favorites. They have a full bar and a wide selection of beers that can be enjoyed out on the patio on a warm summer night. Good service and a reasonable prices make this a good place for a relaxing evening.

Pros: variety of beers

Cons: dark inside
