I have always enjoyed the many things I have tried on the menu. They actually have a really good burger and fries for lunch. Service is good and they seem to get you in pretty quickly.

we have been there with friends a couple of times, the food is good. If you get the group table is actually really nice, the courtain makes the room very private and blocks the noise. I loved the clams and the french fries.

My husband & I have been to the Left Bank in Santa Rows once. I thought I would have a chance to enjoy delicious French food. I ordered pasta. I was disappointed. The pasta was plain and dry.

The tables were so closed to each other, and the place was noisy. So for me it's a good place for get-together but definitely not for a romantic talk or a mellow get-away.

I honestly tried to like the Left Bank. I went back over four times (shame on me), each time the service was awful, and the food wasn?t special. My father owned restaurants in San Francisco so I understand that this is a tough business but

Service was adequate, food was pretty poor and small portions for the price. If you like chain restraunts then you may like it. It is the Chilis for the big spender.

While the ambiance was nice, the service and food quality was disappointing. I have had better food and service for much less. I wouldn't go back there again.

I had heard really great things about The Left Bank but was disappointed. I didn't think the menu was very interesting (basic French bistro food) and the service was OK. For what it was, it seemed a little pricey to me.

The Left Bank showed great promise when my husband and I attended their fabulous opening party with friends. The food they served at the party was amazing, and the decor and ambience were top-notch. They sure knew how to throw a great party! We were very impressed and vowed to eat there again. Well, after 3 or 4 times dining there, I vow NOT to eat there again. All the times I've been a paying customer at the Left Bank, the food and service were disappointingly lackluster for the prices they charge. Salads for lunch were ho-hum and dinner offerings were just...not good. I've had great French food before and this was not it. I truly wanted to like this place because the management is so nice and friendly and the sidewalk location in Santana Row just can't be beat, but I just can't give it another chance.

More like good, peasant French food than the over-refined fancy-schmancy stuff most everywhere else. Other reviewers have raved about the Fondue, the appeal is that isn't trying to be super smooth (and thus bland, like most fondue): is it
