I have been going to Cindy for many years and I could not be more pleased with her qualifications.She's trained and worked under one of the nations leading hair designers, Vidal Sassoon.Cindy therefore knows color and cutting better than anyone that I have ever been to. What really sets her apart is her 25 years in solving many hair and skin problems. As a CEO of a major company I always need to look my best and Cindy's professional skills help me achieve that with her incrediable coloring and cutting capabilities. You are greeted with a smile (unusual these days) offered something to drink, do not wait long and leave with an incredible haircut and color at a reasonable price, even better on Tuesday $10 off or Wednesday $20 off, and hey, every penny counts these days. Better than Newport or Corona Del Mar at much higher price!

Before last Monday I hadn't had a haircut in almost 8 years. My hair was all the way down my back, very very thick and very very curly. I was super attached to it, but I knew it was time to get rid of all the dead weight and make it look less like some kind of frizzy, pyramid-shaped cape. I had Cher hair. Vintage, giant, out of control curly Cher hair. So I spoke to Shannon, the receptionist, prior to going in. I made it clear that I had very difficult hair to work with, and I said about ten times that I needed someone who really knew what to do with curly hair. I was insistent, and full of fear, and I'm pretty sure I sounded completely neurotic. She patiently listened to my rambling plea for someone who could take on the challenge of my wild hair & booked me with Bonnie. I said thank you, hung up the phone, and proceeded to drive myself crazy for the next week thinking about all the horrific things that could happen to my hair. I was petrified walking into the salon. But Shannon and Bonnie immediately welcomed me and made me feel at ease. It was exactly the kind of atmosphere I had hoped for, and as Bonnie talked with me about my hair it became clear to me that she knew exactly what I wanted. She understood my hair, which had been my biggest concern. And when I saw the pictures of her adorable kids I saw that they had curly hair too! I finally stopped freaking out and just trusted her. Bonnie took off at least 8 to 10 inches and cut lots of long layers. I avoided looking at the massive amounts of hair on the floor and instead focused on how AMAZING my hair looked! It was beautiful! My hair now frames my face perfectly, has just the right amount of volume, is still long enough to be versatile, and actually has a style to it. I LOVE IT! SO MUCH!!! All that freaking out was for nothing. Bonnie is a GENIUS with curly hair, and anyone with curly hair knows that it's really not easy to work with. I'm so happy! Best haircut I've EVER had. THANK YOU BONNIE!!

I've been going to Cindy for a while and have never been satisfied. Last time I was in she left me with orange roots. She said it looked fine and I knew it didn't. I asked her to fix it and she told that if I wasn't going to be satisfied with my hair to go somewhere else. She basically kicked me out with wet hair after I offered to pay. She was very rude and yelled at me. I'm very disappointed and would not recommend her.

I went to this salon to see CINDY and had the worst experience ever. She damaged my hair beyond belief, then flat ironed my wet hair. And took 5 hours to do a partial weave. Then after ruining my hair she gave me attitude like she owned the salon. I went to see ERIN after this awful incident and the service was much better. ERIN was friendly, patient and gave me an awesome color and cut, while taking good care of my hair. If you must go here I would highly recomend ERIN, she definitely knows what she is doing, and is a nice person, without a snotty attitude.

About 6 mos ago I discovered Cindy Lorraine and have been going to her ever since...I cannot imagine going to anyone else. She has incredible skill and has a fantastic eye for color. She's the first stylist who took the time to ask me exactly what my expectations were and didn't touch my hair until she felt satisfied that she answered all my questions. Cindy Lorraine also has an impeccable skill with thick, curly hair...nobody has come close to to styling or coloring my hair like Cindy. I've had so many bad haircuts because stylists didn't quite know how to cut thick,curly hair...so trust me when I say Cindy is the best! In addition, Cindy is always in the 'know' when it comes to the best products out there, especially the natural product lines; she introduced me to Kevin Murphy hair products and it's the best shampoo/conditioner I've ever used on my hair...it leaves my hair silky smooth. I look forward to getting my hair cut with Cindy because it's a wonderful experience every single time.

Do not go to this salon. i walked in with blonde hair and walked out with red hair. worst of all i left with wet hair because the stylist "did not have time to finish my hair", there was no manager around to see this disgusting display of customer disatisfacion. Worst of all my hair is damaged for a very long time. Worst experience at any salon in orange county.

I am new to California and came across Maxwells Salon (thank you citysearch). With much hesitation (being scared of seeing a new hair stylist after 6 years with my previous stylist) I made an appointment and was booked with Bonnie. Not only was she on time, and waiting with a smile, her demeanor and positive attitude allowed me to relax and feel confidfent in her artistic, work. Per her recommendation, I was ready fpr a change and she gave me hi-lites and low-lites. Needless to say my hair looks stunning and I owe the world to Bonnie!! Thank you for a job well done and for exceeding my expectations! You're a gem!

Found this salon through citysearch. I honestly don't know how they got such good ratings; The quality has probably dropped in the last months. The worst experience I have ever had with hair. I came in and the salon was very old and not clean as hair was everywhere. The receptionist was nice and the clientele was quite senior. I had my haircut and highlights done by Erin. She did it in less than 40 minutes which is unusual. She bleached out my virgin hair and insisted on caramel which turned out a bland rusty colored mess and gave me a mop with some flair on the bottom for a haircut. The dye job looked as if a guy was trying to cover up his whites with a drugstore color that wasn't working for him. On top of that, the way she shampoos; it is as if someone was pounding my head and splashing water at the same time; it was so rough that one of my earring almost fell off. I basically paid my charity of $110 (I got a $20 discount for the wednesday deal: original total being $130) and hoping that can finance more education on how to do hair and highlights. I then headed over Toni and guy to get a mass makeover: I had to do some highlight touchups and a toner to provide some contrast and bring up the length because the hair layers was not connected and some length had to be sacrificed. Total came out $195. I gladly paid a sizeable tip (much more than 25%) for salvaging what was once a miserable state of hair. I am moving on and I hope people will learn from me and stay far far away. And if you are getting extensions, she's doing it for the money and not because she loves hair (her words verbatim).

I am a busy person and can't spend my entire afternoon at a salon to get my hair weaved. Asked the receptionist to set me up with a stylist who is good but also gets me in and out quickly and not kept waiting while they do other clients. She made my appointment with Erin and I am totally happy. She is very nice and knows her stuff.

I went to see Erin and she does not not what she is doing as far as color. I asked for blond highlights on my brown hair. The bottom of my hair had no blond in it and the top was all blond. It looks terrible. Be careful going to this salon unless you see someone other than Erin!!

I went to Maxwells Salon to get my haircut and color done and was very impressed by the service. Everyone was very inviting and my stylist was very nice and talkative. My hair looked great afterwards and I was unsure on what I wanted, but it turned out great. I love my hair now and am for sure going back!

Do not go to Maxwells of London! After thoroughly explaining to my stylist my problems with hairloss and my hairline and after telling her exactly how to trim my very thin bangs and baldin hair I walked out of there with a whole new hairstyle! Very thick bangs that start at the middle of my head 3-4 inches back (and off center to the right )of my head with nothing at my temples! I look like a MULE!!! Ihate it. My hair is falling out from a Hashimoto's disease and the bangs look even worse a month later. I didn't know how bad I truly looked until I had some pictures taken at my dentist two weeks ago. Thick bangs on a balding women are hideous especially when the widows peaks are not covered. I never realized until now what I would look like as an ugly old man.Save yourself the heartache and stay away.

After going to a stylist who had been damaging my hair and had absolutely no idea how to work with color, i decided to give this place a try. I was suffering from that horrible yellow /blonde brassy color that is often seen around orange county. On top of that my cut was un-even and stringy, and i had two brassy fake looking colors in my hair. I made an appointment to see CINDY and she worked wonders. She gave me the most BEAUTIFUL NATURAL golden highlights, and cut my hair into a stylish shorter style that better suited me. CINDY really knows what she is doing, she was patient, really listened to what I wanted and explained what she was doing along the way, which I really appreciate because I was nervous about going to a new stylist. I am eager to go back to her. GO SEE CINDY, SHE IS AWESOME!

I have been to see Erin from Maxwell's Salon several times and was very happy with my hair color and cut style. However, when I make an appointment 3 - 4 weeks out from the date I expect the appointment time to be stable. The last two times I have made appointments the salon called me at the last minute to change the appointment time which really is not acceptable. The first time my appointment was for Saturday in the AM and I received a call on the Thursday immediately prior to reschedule to a Tuesday. The reason I make the appointment so far in advance is because a Saturday is all that I can make. That time they allowed me to come in and see another hair stylist. That hair stylist took 3 hours and then charged me $30 more for the exact same service as Erin provides. All of this was forgiveable. I scheduled another appointment for 10.30 on a Saturday morning the next time. At 10.30 the Saturday of the appointment (my appointment time) the salon called me on my cell to reschedule for the next Saturday because Erin was really busy. If I made the appointment 3 weeks in advance, shouldn't they have refused the extra clients they gave appointments to after me? I made it all the way to the salon before seeing the missed call and I was still turned away.

All in all, the service was great when I could get it. With my schedule, I just can't take the chance and will be taking my business elsewhere in the future.

After reading all these reviews about this hair salon, I was a little reluctant to go but my friend had referred me to Sooki at Maxwell's to get my hair straightened and layered so I decided to give it a try. My girlfriends hair turned out absolutely incredible and since I have long wavy, frizzy hair I wanted fine silky straight asian hair. Let me tell you ladies, I got mine done before my Thanksgiving and Christmas family party and oh my god! It's unbelievable. I'm so satisfied with my hair. I even got it layered and it looks so pretty! Everywhere I go, people compliment on how pretty it looks, my husband likes it too! The lady who did my hair was so honest and professional. I highly recommend her. See for yourself.

From the moment I made my appointment at the Salon, I was pleased with their customer service.I am a super busy person that tends to make last minuet appointments do to my hectic work schedule. This was the only Salon that went above and beyond to get me in for an early appointment .I met with Erin, who was extremely sweet and nice! She gave me great hair styling tips and took the time to teach me about maintaining my haircut. I just got my hair done last week, and I keep getting many complements.

I just moved to the area and made an appointment for highlights and color. Erin was the stylist I was given and she is a wonderfully skilled colorist. I loved my color and still do. The facility was clean and the entire staff was friendly and helpful.

Well, i don't just go to any hair stylist, but Erin I loved. She listened to what I wanted and gave me some suggestions that I actually liked. Like the color of my hair since I was so tired of highlights. as she cut and washed and styled my hair, she gave me so many useful tips as how to keep my hair healthy and how to style my hair so easily on my own. she has great personality and knows what she's doing. She also cuts great bangs! (I don't know if thats how you spell it)! Thank you Erin, and I will be back! by the way, the next day, I went on vacation and was glowing all through vacation coz I loved my haircut so much!!

Carlos is my hero! I first went to Carlos about a year ago after many years of tragic results from colors you can only buy at Hot Topic and various bottled blondes found at your local drugstore. My most recent catastrophe was the year-long experiment as a redhead. The results were in, I wanted my blonde hair back! In one afternoon, Carlos carefully and patiently turned my reddish, orange-ish, gross-ish hair into the most beautiful soft pale blonde. Although my penchant for color has not subsided, I have given the reigns over to Carlos. He has transformed my hair; it is longer and healthier than ever!!!

This salon is extremely over rated. As a 20-something, I thought the salon was much more for the older crowd who may not care too much about what their hair looks like. I had Erin after being told I would have another stylist who was recommended because of my extremely fine hair. Erin lectured me the entire cut about how I should style my hair then, she cut it totally lopsided. She didn't even check to make sure the lengths on both sides where even (they weren'y!) and she cut drastically shorter layers into one side of my head compared to the other so it looked totally silly. She didn't give me the worst hair cut I have had but I think this salon is getting a lot of high ratings when they should be much more professional.

As a man with fine hair that has an impossible time finding a stylist that will give me the right cut, I was throughly impressed with Erin. From the moment I sat in the chair, she asled me exactly the right questions to help me decide what I wanted. Even after the hair cut she gave me tips for how to style my hair for a more modern look. As a man, I feel shy some times when it comes to breaking a conversation with a young attractive stylist, but Erin made me feel like her big brother as we talked about sports and entertainment. The overall atmosphere of Maxwells Salon is a treat. It is not noisy and I always get a high level of hospitality. I have even gone in to see Erin between haircuts just to get my hairstyled for big business meetings and family gatherings and she has been very accomodating. I just cant say enough positive things about getting a professional mens cut at Maxwell's Salon with Erin.

Honestly, I don't believe all the good reviews on this site are all real. That is my opinion after visiting Erin at Maxwell's Salon. She was a nice person, but she really did a bad job...she probably is not familiar with different hair textures and just does the same type of cut she knows how to do. Good for some...not for others. I will never come back. I will tell my friends of my experience and that's why I'm sharing with you. Really, don't they train their people??

I was desperately in need of a weave and cut and my regular stylist could not fit me in for weeks. I couldn't wait and found Maxwell's on City Search. With all the positive comments, I decided to give Maxwell's a try. The receptionist was great and she set up an appointment for me with Erin. Erin listened to my needs and did a terrific job with my color and did an awesome cut. A very nice and relaxing experience - I will definitely be back again.

Cindy Lorraine has been cutting my hair for years and I wouldn't let anyone else touch it!! She has incredible skill and great attention to every little detail. I used to have waist-length hair and then chopped it all off (donated to Locks of Love!). Cindy was the only person I could imagine trusting with cutting my hair that dramatically! She did a wonderful job and since then has given me one cute short cut after another. Always listening to what I want! She can take my random thoughts and make them come together right before my eyes!:)

I just moved to England and am in the process of trying to find someone new to cut my hair - not by choice!! If I had the money to fly back to California to have Cindy do it, I would!!:)

I read the reviews from this website and decided to give Maxwell?s a try. Made an appt for a cut and color. Staff was friendly when they greeted me, place looked clean and well kept. I specifically explained what I wanted and even went to great lengths to show her how I comb my hair and that I wanted it to lay the same way. Holy-cow is all I can say as I saw my hair fall to the floor. I thought for a moment I was in a super-cuts or hair school with a student in her first week. If there was any technique to the cut I did not see it. Now hair does not always look right until you dry it so I decided to give the benefit of doubt until she was completely finished.

She applied the color and I asked her several times to please make sure that she checked for any that might have gotten on my skin. She said of course she would, so why did I find discoloration on my skin when I got home?? When it was time to wash the color out, I guess she never learned how not to get my blouse wet when washing hair. Then instead of drying my hair she decided to use a bunch of something to hold my hair together. What the heck is going on here I thought?! I mean when you get a cut it should look great when you finish drying it and then you put stuff in to only help it maintain its shape; not to mask a bad job.

In the end the color she did was OK, the cut was way Below ok. I really can?t see how this place got such a high rating. My recommendation is if you just looking for an ok job and nothing great this is the place for you. Maybe it is the Orange County curse, since I have had to try quite a few places that say they are great; but turn out to be barely ok.

So if you are looking for ok do NOT go out of your way here. I am sure you can find a place that is just ok closer to your home.

I went to Maxwell's on recommendation of this web site and I was glad I did.
Erin worked on my hair with ease, flair, and professionalism. She definitely knows what she is doing with weaves/highlights and style. The receptionist is friendly too. Prices reasonable, and they don't push products on you. Will be back again for sure.

I really liked the last two haircuts I received at Maxwell's. Enought to take the time to write this recommendation. Great services for a lot less than I have paid at other Salon's. I went to Melissa both times. She was excellant!

Last month I had the BEST haircut of my life with Wendy and when I called back today to schedule another appointment with her, Maxwell's told me she LEFT THE SALON. Do any of you know how to find her?? I have a very particular short haircut, Wendy cut it perfectly, and I am extremely reluctant to let anyone else try to replicate it.
I literally almost cried when I found out she's gone. (and I am SO not that type of girl).

When I go into Maxwell's Salon of London, I feel relaxed and excited all at once. This amazing salon's employees, owner, and atmosphere shine with excellence and expertise. It doesn't surprise me that they have won the Best Salon in Orange County Award. When I go, the haircut and coloring makes me feel like a celebrity, but when they get to the deep scalp massage, i drift into a deep sleep. I would highly recommend this salon to anyone looking for a great pampering.

found maxwells on the net , carlos was highly recommended from the reviews.. gave him a shot at fixing my color(it was a greyish blonde, not by choice) he was amazing and knew exactly what to do to fix the drab color i had from a previous salon. carlos was so friendly , easy going and made me feel comfortable right away. love the products he recommended , will be seeing him again soon!! When I first called I had no idea what I wanted so I asked for someone creative. I got Wendy! Boy was I glad I got her. She was absolutely wonderful and I have never felt more welcome in a salon before plus she knows what she is doing. I told her I wanted to be a brunette and she picked up a coloring swatch placed it on my head and said Ok. When I was finished with the cut and color I have never felt better. My husband loves it and thinks I look great! Yeah Me! I have gone to many places in southern CA from Oceanside all the way to Irvine and when you are not from CA it's hard to know where to go. I looked on here and made a guess. I made a great guess. I recommend her for any hair occasion she is a wonderful person and a wonderful hair stylist she made my hair look wonderful, and made me feel confident in the way I look! Thanks Wendy! Your awesome.

I've had an amazing experience with Maxwell's Salon of London in Irvine. All around, the service is fantastic, but I applaud a specific stylist, Wendy. Wendy is incredibly talented, and definitely listens to your needs and goals with your hair. She can make anything happen! She takes time on your hair, and takes the time to explain everything to you. Everything about her ROCKS! It has taken me years to find a stylist that I can thoroughly trust with both color & cuts, and I am so lucky to have found her. Wendy is the BEST!!!

I moved to OC about a year ago from SF and have yet to find a decent salon here. I made an appointment with Maxwell Salaon based on the high ratings from citysearch. I thought I asked the right questions, including how many years of experience the stylist has, and was told 20 + years. I felt comfortable at first but was totally disappointed at the result. The stylist did not know what she was doing. She does not know how to cut hair or how to high light. Yes, she has 20+ years experience, as a housewife and mother, and as a part time stylist, coming in once or twice a week. In short, that she has 20 some years experience was a totally inflated lie. She was not having a career as a stylist... it was pocket money for her. Still I paid the full price even though she did not deserve a dime. Needless to say, no tip. Note - I had to give it a one-star rating but this place should have gotten a zero!

I have never been happier with my appearance. My hair has never looked better! Bonnie is not only a talented stylists, but an amazing and experienced colorist, who's knowledge and professionalism are reassuring to a first time client...thank you for making me feel good about myself.
