While in Sacramento on Business I had a chance to visit Marissa at Morgan Taylors for a haircut. I was very impressed with her work, friendly service and the salon itself. I was promptly helped and seated with Marissa right away, after a brief discussion of my hair and what I was looking for she went to work. I was very pleased with the results and plan to schedule a haircut and highlight treatment next time I am in town.

I love Marissa, she does a great job on my Hair. She is one of the best Stylists in Sac as far as I am concerned! I normally get a haircut, color and a highlight service she is always able to keep it fresh while fitting the style I request. I love my hair and thanks to Marissa it always looks good!

Melissa is one of several stylists with names that begin with M at Morgan Taylor. She does a great job. People I don't know have come up and asked me who did my hair each time she's given me a cut. Located in Town and Country the salon has easy parking.

It took me a while after moving down from Oregon to find someone who actually listens to what I want. Marissa colors and cuts my hair in a way that is exactly what I vision. Her relaxed manner and friendliness only compliments her service. I almost hesitated to sing her praises because one has to book weeks in advance due to her popularity.

My hair looks fabulous. Jennifer's so great with color. I'm always changing my color and my hair is still healthy. It used to get so fried. She is honest and won't let me do anything stupid.

I have been going to Melissa for almost a year now. I tried to get in with her right after she came back from maternity leave.
She was worth waiting for. She made me step out of my box with my color and immediately made me feel comfortable.
I will be sticking with Melissa for quite some time !

I have never been a patron of Morgan Taylor, but I know the owner very well. She was one of the lucky ones that discovered her calling at a young age. Dena has always had a knack for hair...she was cutting her father's and brother's hair when she was probably about 12 years old. She always made smart career path choices. While attending cosmetology school she worked at a beauty supply store and kept up with the latest products for perms, color and styling; after graduation from cosmetology school she landed a job in a salon almost immediately and established regular clients very quickly; she then moved on to rent her own stall at another facility and after a few years she strategically relocated and took most of her clients with her. After working at three salons very successfully she became a salon owner and the rest is history. She has always taken her job seriously and continues to keep up with all the latest trends. I would recommend her to anyone!!!

I have been a client with Morgan Taylor's Salon, specifically Dena for as long as it has been in business. This salon is professional, the girls are always courteous and very friendly. The atmosphere makes you feel like the queen that you will look like when they are done with you. The "reminder" calls from the lovely Sophia (the awesome receptionist) are always appreciated!I travel from Marysville, California to Morgan Taylor's and it is always worth it!! Dena is awesome....the girl knows her stuff!!And i am proud to be a client and would recommend this salon to anyone!

I have been to a number of "good" salons in Sacto. over the years and ended up becoming unhappy with the stylists work. I tried again at Arden Hills and was again not thrilled after the second visit so I started searching again. I found Morgan Taylor by chance and from the first call to my first visit, I was pleasantly surprised by the consideration to detail and my desire, to be their first concern. I was scheduled with Dalyn and just love her and her work. Great colorist and stylist. The women here are professional, courteous, friendly and helpful in answering any questions or concerns you may have. I highly recommend this Salon.

I visited this salon due to the reviews and word of mouth. I have been there twice now, seeing two different stylist. I was happy with one of the stylist, but will never return due to the other. This stylist canceled my appointment (that I had for 2 months) a few hours before. I received the message ON THE WAY to my appointment, after leaving work early. Because I had this appointment for so long, I had actually scheduled a trip out of town and two doctor appointments around it.
The salon called twice before, telling me that there was a cancellation earlier in the day. Both times i told them that I would not be able to come in earlier. Both times they stated that it was ok and I could keep my original appointment. It seems that she knew she wouldn't want to stick around for the appointment, and could have let me know sooner rather than a couple of hours prior to my appointment.
She left me the message saying that she had a baby at home to go to. If it had been an emergency, that would be very understandable, but she has no clue as to what I had to schedule around, doctor appointments (2 of them!), hospital visits, etc. The way it was handled, and her decision to not wait around and just go home was very inconsiderate, rude and unprofessional.
As for the quality of her cuts, I've nothing bad to say. Unfortunately, the cut is not worth the aggravation of going back.

My hair has never looked this good! I am new in town and am so glad I found her. I move a lot with my job and when ever I move to a new city I usually have to visit several salons before I find someone I like. She really listened to my problems and was able to advise me. I can even repeat the style she gave me and I am usually hair challenged. I love Bumble and Bumble thickening spray. The salon can be a little intimidating but Jennifer made me feel so comfortable. The receptionist was also really helpful. I would highly recommend this salon.

I've been going to Morgan Taylor for over a year now and I do love getting my haircut there. The prices are reasonable and I love my stylist! It is an upscale salon and it is a bit hard to feel comfortable there. I make the best of it, but it sometimes feels as if I don't belong. The services are excellent though and like I said, reasonable.

If your in the Sacramento area I highly recommend this salon. The classy & elegant atmsophere makes for a comfortable, yet fun salon experience! I was recommended by a friend and was very pleased with the results. My stylist (Marissa) was great she was able to give me the look I have been wanting for so long! I have been getting tons of compliments on my hair, which never happened before. They also offer nail, massage & waxing services, which I cannot wait to try. The salon is located next to William Glen in the Town & Country Shopping Center on the corner of Fulton & Marconi.

I did like the massages that I got at this salon and spa. However, when I had my eyebrows waxed, the price I had seen was increased by several dollars. I'm not sure if the listed price was wrong, or if this woman thought I wouldn't tip because I'm under 40. She did an excellent job of waxing my eyebrows. But there was a snobby attitude that she had that I really didn't like. I ended up spending $5 more than I expected. That was not pleasant. They also offer hair salon services which I have not used. Most of the patrons are over 40 or over 50 so I felt out of place at age 32. I did notice they have a wide color selection of OPI nail polishes which I love. However, they are sold cheaper at many other salons. This salon is a bit hard to find. Its in a little strip mall. I don't recommend it. But felt compelled to review it. So let me tell you about the only service I liked here - the massage. The therapist is very in tune to how your body is, where you need the most work, and where you are "tight". She makes the experience worthwhile in spite of the salon's snobby atmosphere. Another down side is the stink of perm treatments. They really need more air movement in this place. The room for the massage is tiny. I didn't notice it much during the massage, but I feel for the therapist. Don't ask me HOW she managed to move around. She made the best of it though. One bonus of this salon is that it is right next door to the cutest toy shoppe ever. If you go here, you must go see the toys at the little toy store. They sell slinkies, fun stuff, bubbles, cute stuffed animals, and the store is jammed with cute toys. Its a small store, but has tons of products. So, back to the snobby salon. They apparently also offer manicures and pedicures. Also they offer hair treatments, perms, coloring, etc. Unfortunately, this is why the place stinks like ammonia and other odors. They also were selling overpriced toe rings. I got the same toe ring for half the price! so, beware.

Great Haircut and Color Service by Marissa!

Plus the salon is conveniently located off of Business 80 and is really easy to get in and out of which makes making my appointments a bit easier with my busy work schedule!

I went to Morgan Taylors for the first time a couple weeks ago and had a great experience with Marissa. She did a wonderful job on my cut and color I really left feeling great, plus I have had a ton of compliments from friends and co-workers! After reading a couple of the other reviewers I am wondering if they visited the salon at all...but definitely wanted to put my two cents in as well. I found Marissa and the staff to be very friendly and fun, I highly recommend her and the salon! Looking forward to my next appointment?.

I ABSOLUTLY love coming to Morgan Taylor's Salon.... My favorite Stylist is Marissa... If you are looking for a Cut, Color, Up do, or a combination of the three, she is the person for you! My experience with Marissa has always been delightful! I can't rave enough about her skills. My hair is always GORGEOUS because of her creativity! I love it!!!! And not to mention she is the nicest lady that has ever done my hair. I am a faithful and loyal customer. I have NEVER had my hair done as well as Marissa does it!!! She is AWSOME!!!!!!!!!! Good cut, poor attitude

I was interested to read the reviews. I did have a poor experience with Marissa, although it was several years ago. I had gone to Marissa three times, as she did a great job on my friend's hair. Although I did find her a bit over-impressed with status, I didn't really care.
This is how my third visit went: As I was walking up, she came driving up and parked right next to where I was walking. I smiled hello to her, and she ignored me, Okay, maybe she didn't remember me. She then went in, placed a bag of groceries on the client chair, and began talking to another stylist. I stood at the counter until she acknowledged me, when she motioned me to go sit in the chair, where I had to move her groceries.
When she came over five minutes later, her attitude was okay. During the shampoo, I asked her not to put moisturizer on my hair, as my hair is quite oily and I didn't want to wash it again before going out. During the cut, she rudely informed me that next time she was using moisturizer, she didn't care what I wanted, because it made cutting easier. I thought, well, there won't be a next time. And there wasn't.

It was bad. She was unprofessional and rude. I heard she did grat consults and she didnt. I ried to ecplain to her what I wanted and she apparently wasnt listening because it was so far from what I described. It was way overpriced for the ridiculous haircut she gave me!!

I absolutely love Marissa's cuts and colors. The first time i went to her i could tell she knew what she was doing and walking out of the salon i felt confident with my color.. and the compliments given by friends and family helped as well! I went to Marissa at Morgan Taylor's based on her City Search reviews and rating.
But I have to say I wish I hadn't.
I've thought for weeks about not leaving a review at all because as a stylist, her livelihood might be centered on word of mouth...but I'm still living with the mess she left on my head, so here's the review.
I went in, sat down, she asked me what we were doing ?it being my first time... I told her to trim my bangs (I like heavy bangs), layer the back, dye my hair and give me highlights. I also showed her my cowlick and explained how my hair parts best, and asked her to work with that. I didn?t want a change, just shape things up and give me highlights.
Overall, I'm a pretty low maintenance kind of girl when it comes to my hair. So, lots of prep time every morning isn't something I want to contend with. I like my hair to look naturally nice, not stiff or sculpted.
Anyway, at the end of it, she gave me the exact hair cut that in conversation, I?d actually mentioned I didn?t want. The same cookie cutter hair style most stylish middle aged women wear today (This is not an insult. It looks very nice on them.) She totally changed my part, gave me such subtly colored highlights I can?t even tell that they?re there. She seemed to somehow thin my hair in the back ?it definitely did NOT need to be thinned.
She cut it into that style and now, no matter what I do with it, it does nothing but hang there in strange little layers that are very unappealing.
I?VE had to trim my bangs because she cut them to swoop across my face and off to the side down around my ear.
She?s totally made a mess of my hair and what?s worse, she charged me an arm and a leg for it too.
My color is drab and I?ve got no idea how to work with this mess on my head. I should have just stuck with my original lady. So much for reviews.

Great Hair Style

I have been seeing Marissa a little over a year. Marissa is the best with hair colors and cuts. The only thing is it hard to get a apponitment with Marissa it is generally a 2 month wait. It used to be only a few weeks. I think Marissa does a great job but has overextended herself and isn't taking care of her clients that have been with her awhile. I personally don't know if I will continue to see her it has been a hassle to get appointments and I can't wait months in between appointment. Other than that Marissa is the best at what she does and you can tell that is her passion. I think her website has been more successful than imagined and not enough of Marissa to go around. It is unfortunate for the clients who have been with her awhile.
In response to what you said, if you work hard to take care of customer's why is it taking you 13 days to respond back? This is the second time I have had to wait over 6 weeks for appointment. The first time was i around July and I waited over 2 months for appointment. My point is take care of customers that have been loyal to you. If you can't take of your clients then stop taking new ones. If your clients have to see another hairstylist abviously your not taking care of them.

I came from out of state to Sacramento on business, and was in desperate need of a haircut. Marissa was professional, friendly, reasonably priced, and listened very well to my concerns when I came in for a haircut. She did an excellent job, and I would consider her among the best hairstylists I have used-- even after years of expensive haircuts in NYC and Chicago.
I am always a little skeptical about citysearch reviews, but be assured that this young lady is very deserving of her high rating on this site.

Marissa has been coloring, highlighting, and cutting my hair for almost a year now. She never gives me the same, boring color/cut. Each time is new and fresh, even though I request similar color and length. I don't know how she does it, but I love the results every time. She comes HIGHLY recommended. You won't be dissapointed. I am a real client, not a friend or compensated customer. This girl will have her own salon someday!

the last salon I went too. I am so happy I tried Marissa she was absolutely
fabulous and she did a fantastic job on my hair. She put the perfect amount
of color & highlights in my hair as well as did a great job on my cut. I

After reviewing the reviews on Marissa, I decided to give her a try (nervously as I have gone to the same person for years). I called and the receptionist who is wonderful, friendly and very caring got me in the next morning! When I arrived, she remembered talking with me and I overheard many conversations with patrons while I waited. The owner knows the customers personally and even went out of her way to buy cookies that morning. When I met with Marissa, she knew exactly what was right for me and what kind of style would work best with my hair and face shape. Long story short...she did an AWESOME job. I love my style and color and I have already booked my second appointment. I cannot recommend Marissa or Morgan Taylor's enough! You will not be sorry!

I live in Folsom and was going to a larger Salon and was recommended to Melissa at Morgan Taylor's. I love what she did with my color and haircut. I normally have a hard time communicating what I want done. She was really interested in doing what I wanted and making me feel comfortable. She has at least three new clients from me ! Marissa was great! I absolutely love my Hair, she really did a great job on my haircut and color. I also really like the salon atmosphere. I am definitely going back, I am so happy I have found my permanent Hair Salon & Stylist!

The Best Salon & Spa experience in town! After trying several salons around town I absolutely love Morgan Taylors. Its classy and relaxing atmosphere makes for an enjoyable & comfortable experience. The whole staff was great. I can recommend Marissa she did a great job on my cut and color. I am getting tons of compliments on my hair, and I am loving it! I am going to book my next appointment soon!
