I've been going to Todai for years. It is quite expensive but am glad to see they recently lowered their lunch price on weekends. The restaurant has been packed! The food is what you expect at a buffet. Not the best, but pretty decent. You have to remember, they have to keep replenishing it and some of the food sits there too under the heat lamps so it may not be that fresh if it is not a popular item. The shrimp tempura is fresh as it never stands sitting for more than a few minutes before they are snagged up. Mauricio is our favorite waiter. He is so attentive. Never have to ask for more water. He just brings it.

The food definitely could be better at a real sushi restaurant, but this is a buffet. I don't see why people are complaining so much. Lately, the food has been tasting better too. The food is not the freshest, but it's not bad either. For a buffet, the quality is quite good. You get sushi, sashimi, crab legs, oysters. tempua, udon, yummy cakes, crepes and much, much more! My only complaint is the smell. It doesn't smell bad inside, but you leave with a strong restaurant smell.

I love sushi and Japanese food so I am very picky about the quality. First of all the buffet isn't cheap and secondly the quality is very poor. If I were to pay that much for Japanese food, I'd rather have a smaller portion but have great quality. Japanese food shouldn't be served buffet style.

The restuarnt is located inside the Westfield Mall. My partner and I came here because we didn't want to walk into the food court. Boy, did we regret that! The food was not fresh at all. Plus the price was just too expensive to get such bad quality food. Never go back again.

Todai is a decent Japanese buffet restaurant. It's nothing too fancy or extravagent but the food is tasty. Dinner can get kind of pricey, but lunch is cheaper. You can also usually find a coupon, maybe in the mailer.

You should probably go to Todai if you like sushi to get your money's worth.

The sushi is good and you have a very good variety of food to choose from. However, if you do not plan on eating much, you may not like the entrance fee which is quite pricy.

Todai is located in the Westfield Shopping Center in Arcadia, CA. It's a little pricey, but it's well worth it. They have a large variety of different foods including noodles, meats, sushi and desserts. The people who work here are very cultural and kind. Their dinning area is very large and clean. Their buffet has a great presentation. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. They are a little high priced, but it's well worth it because it's a buffet and all you can eat. It's a casual restaurant that is perfect for families with children.

Todai is a dream for lovers of Japanese food. The buffet has a great selection from sushi to soups to desserts and much more. It is a must for hungry mall shoppers who have shopped all day and want to grab a bite to eat. Everything is self service except for the drinks and although the drinks aren't part of the buffet price, you certainly get what you pay for.

You're tired and haven't any choice, but you want sushi and too tired to drive after roaming the mall for hours. Too expensive for a buffet and certainly not worth eating sushi here (again, thin slices of nothing...what a freakin' joke)!!! Take my advice and drive some place else, have a sake and real sushi, believe me...you'll be relaxed and rewarded for your tiredness!

It's a great place to go with a group where people aren't exactly sure what they want, because there's so much variety of food. I recommend the Arcadia mall location, haven't had to wait there (seated right away and can start eating immediately) and it's new and clean; better than the Sherman Oaks and Glendale ones. I think the quality of food is decent (great sushi cut rolls and desserts), and of course you can eat as much as you want. Note that the price is highest for weekend dinners, about $24 per person... it's cheaper on weeknights and at lunchtime (much less crowded also).

The only thing worth visiting Todai for is their desserts. Minature versions of tiramisu and green tea cakes are their best. They have such flavor. Other than that, the food and service was terrible. It was a stampede to get in line - lots of push n' shoving customers. The waiters and waitresses did nothing exceptational to make it a pleasant evening. Sushi rolls and seaweed salad gave a sour lukewarm taste while the bean sprout salad looked rehashed from their afternoon buffet. Everything else didn't fare much better. Todai's French crepes MIGHT'VE worked if the chef knew what he was doing. Like I said, Todai is a buffet so you shouldn't expect too much. The desserts are the only thing worth visiting for, but if only there was a way to savor them without the hustle and bustle surroundings.
