I was in the process of starting a brand new business. I never owned a business before. I searched the Internet and liked what I saw at Cindy J. Harris CPA; and friends of mine had given her excellent review. So, I tried to listen carefully as she advised me. However, one item that I had a real hard time understanding, as did the President of the Franchise I was buying from, was why something really bad could happen when I open my doors.

I was completely confused but she mentioned that an Escrow to purchase a business does not extend the same title search as an Escrow to buy real estate. She mentioned that she was not comfortable with the Escrow proceedings and she felt for many different reasons that I was going to end up with the debt of the old Company.

You see, I was in the process of buying the inventory and operating equipment of this Franchise which gave me an exclusive to work in a particular area. Cindy said well how will you operate if you open your doors and the inventory and assets you bought are seized by the lending companies? I didn??t even know this was possible. The President of the Franchise assured me that this would not happen, with Cindy on the phone. However, Cindy held firm with her instincts and knowledge said that this purchase was going to be a huge disappoint and bankrupt me the minute I open my doors. The President then said, Cindy if I guarantee that if anything happens my Attorney??s will handle this at no charge to my new Franchisee and your Client will you back off and let the sale go through. Cindy thought for a few minutes and said, you put that in writing and you have a deal. The President then said, I do not need to put this in writing, you have my guarantee as my word as President. Cindy accepted the terms and the sale continued.

I did have my entire savings and most of my retirement sunk into this Company, but I was sure the President knew what he was talking about saying that no sale from one Franchise Owner to another ever occurred as Cindy mentioned.

So, I was delighted when I opened my doors, until the first knock on the door was from the Lenders of the prior Franchise Owner. The Lenders were emphatic that they could take all of the equipment immediately, as they had the equipment for collateral on the loans the prior Franchise Owner took out and did not pay in full after the sale of the business.

I called Cindy shaking from head to toe, and of course crying, and asked what do we do now. She said hold on while I conference call in the President. When the President answered and heard that what Cindy had predicted came true, he did what he promised and had his Attorney Firm take over the issue, at no cost to me.

I am delighted to say that I am still in the business and have enjoyed well over a decade and a half of operating with the same equipment I purchased on the day I opened the business. Thank you, Cindy. This was my life savings and retirement, I would have lost everything. But, with your experience, dedication, tenacity and holding true to ??Someone You Can Talk To?, you saved my assets and my livelihood. So, when you told me to buy glass insurance, business interruption insurance and ?... I did not argue. That is a story for another day. She has never let me down and I know how seriously she takes all of our business ventures.

Think about it, call Cindy's Office and ask her if you can talk to her.

Excellent services from "Someone You Can Talk To"...Cindy J. Harris CPA.

I have referred the Office of CJ Harris CPA, and appreciate the range of services she was able to give my friends.

After she helped me through the stress of setting up a new activity and the follow through needed over the years for so many different aspects, this has meant a great deal to me.

For those that I have referred to her Office, I almost always receive positive feedback and people are right, the Bulldog never gives up until she achieves the result.

You can't always find someone you can talk to, who will work so hard to provide you the best service possible, and lets you feel like an equal knowledgeable team member after the same goal!

At first I was confused when she explained to me that she would not make decisions for me. Isn't that what a professional is suppose to do, a Doctor tells you what medicine to take and a Computer Technician tells you what is necessary to fix a computer?

She worked through planning and examples discussed the various results but emphasized the necessity for me to make the decision.

Now I am beginning to understand that I should only be the person to decide what is right for me.

I have learned a lot and look forward to learning a lot more from her.

I equally am surprised when she does not know all the answers to questions I ask. But, she explains to me that if she does not know the answer, she will find out the answer.

So, this reminds me of someone taking their own advice, she does not let anyone make the decisions for her, she goes out to learn what is necessary to teach me the information necessary to make my decision!

This doesn't mean that she doesn't tell me what forms to file for what issues, but when it comes to making a decision on what funds to take out that are reported on that form, that responsibility is mine.

I look forward to years of issues to discuss with her; she really is someone I can talk to...

Thanks, Cindy.
