We live in an adjacent neighborhood and had driven by this place a million times without giving it much thought, assuming it was just a retro burger joint. It wasn't until my hair stylist recommended it for dinner that we even realized they were open past lunch (like European restaurants, they close in between lunch and dinner). We decided to try it for our rare dinner-out-without-the-kids, and were not disappointed. The food was fabulous. I particularly liked the schnitzel (and being German, I am very fussy about my schnitzel) and the corn salad was AMAZING. In fact, everything we tried was delicious (and the atmosphere inside the restaurant cozy enough to make up for the bleakness of Washington Boulevard outside). I can't wait to go back.

I have to say, this place was surprising! Located below the Travelodge Motel, it is not in an ideal location (unless you are staying at the motel). However, it is in my neighborhood, so I tried it out. The food was actually very good and presentation was excellent. I've only gone for breakfast, and highly recommend the french toast.

I love Metro Cafe. The food is seriously amazing. Can't wait to try their breakfast which I heard is delish. I came for dinner and tried the Goulash, which is a kind of beef stew with really tender meat. It come with mashed potatoes. They also have options for vegetarians too. Owner is Serbian and he's the nicest guy. If you like Serbian food, American food (I also heard they have yummy burgers and killer sweet potato fries), or heck just really great food try Metro Cafe. The food really speaks for itself...

This restaurant is such a refreshing change. The food is excellent; the service is great, professional and makes you feel welcome. The food is as close to home cooked as you can get. The little touch of Balkan cuisine makes dinning hear unforgetable expiriance.
This place really knows how to cook a great meal.

The price is reasonable. I
I highly recommend.

regardless fi you have a taste for Balkan food or you just want to have a great tasing all-american dish... this is the place.
