Blick Art Materials

The Art Store is a large art supplies and service store. They have everything you need for that project....drafting, mounting, and designing. I've purchased a lot of supplies here because it's a one stop shop for the art painting project I was working on. They have great prices for brushes and painting supplies. When I was done, they were able to mount my painting for me at a reasonable and timely price. Great place to shop!

The Art Store is definately one of the better art stores in San Francisco. Besides having a really nice selection of art supplies to choose from, it is located in a very busy area that is accessible by buses.

The Art Store's name describes it pretty well. It has a ton of different types of art supplies, from crafty things to more practical items, all well-stocked in a very clean, organized store. What its name doesn't point out is that the employees there know what they're talking about, and it seems as if the hiring team really care how they hire. The employees are friendly, for the most part, and will usually try their best to help you, even if you're just trying to find a few simple, cheap items.

This store is great if you want to blow some money on artsy stuff. They have a good selection of your typical art supplies, but don't have too much in the way of rare needs. They have a great "generic" house brand that pretty much covers the basics and won't break your bank. Additionally, the people who work there are helpful and always up to talk about artsy stuff.

Well if your in san francisco, go to Flax. There is nothing at the Art Store that you can't get anywhere else and in more variety. They seemed at one point to be popping up everywhere though god only knows why they are so successful. They don't even have parking. The sales people don't look very happy either. I think they are only here to capitalize on the Art schools in the area and really have no use for professionals.

PROS: alot of them.
CONS: nothing special.

This store is okay but nothing special. Their selection is small but adaquate. They seem to have a high turnover on staff and it doesn't seem like they have people who specialize in particular crafts. If in San Francisco Flax Art and Design is just down Market street and much better.

i am a artist my self and i really like this one art store. it has all the supplies i need and other really neat things that cant be found any where else. the have pretty good portfolios as well and isnt that exspensive. they also have wonderful wraping papers and picture frames. the have alot of sales and they also have a student discount, if youre in college.
