I have been a frequent customer of Seth's Games & Anime for about five years now.

Getting to the point this place provides excellent service, a good selection (along with special orders), and an excellent atmosphere in which to game.

I disagree with Amy R.'s comments above. I am one of the aforementioned locals she spoke of, and while I recognize the shortcomings of the tournament the ownership is not completely to blame. Personally, I tried to be welcoming to everyone I had not met before but I cannot vouch for other patrons. There are people like that in every tournament setting, and the management should not be blamed for the poor manners of their customers.

The size of the tournament was much greater than the management had anticipated and they did the best they could with what little supplies they had. They even gave players, suchas me, who did not receive a new promo the option to choose which old promo we wanted, sending me home with 2 promos. That sounds pretty fair to me. The shop is not designed to hold a 70 player tournament so naturally it wasn't the greatest set-up but they did the best with what they could.

I have shopped and competed there for many years and the Management has always been nothing but kind to me. Everyone who works there is very accommodating and will go out of their way to assist everyone in the shop. If anyone is to judge the shop based on these reviews, I strongly urge you to come and see for yourself. It is the only place that I know of where weekly Legacy events are held. I for one found a great group of new friends through competing in legacy events at this shop, and we always love to play with new people.

I came to seth's with a group of friends for a magic pre-release tournament. It was our second pre-release tournament that weekend and we were stoked to be there. Unfortunately the experience left MUCH to be desired. This tournament was soooo poorly run. First of all, they admitted WAY too many people (70). There wasn't enough space to play and many people had to stand while they played. In addition, they didn't have enough promo cards and because the first 8 who signed up (meaning the first people to show up and wait in line for the store to open) were from out of town they handed them out rather randomly so the locals would have a chance to score them. They started an hour late, 1pm instead of 12pm (waiting for some locals to show up). On top of that, they closed at 7pm, limiting our play time to 4 rounds. 4 rounds for 70 players!!! RIDICULOUS! Also, because of the large crowd and their unwillingness to play the correct number of rounds, there was no tournament top 8. Instead, players won packs for each round win. This was the only good thing about the tournament, I would have preferred a top 8, but at least this way more people had a chance to win packs.
The store itself was cluttered, unorganized, way too hot and crowded and quickly began to reek of food and B.O. as the day went on. And one of the bathrooms in the back had a broken door that almost fell on me and a man sleeping in it... Not very professional at all.
The majority of the locals, the regulars at Seth's were rude, selfish and unwelcoming to any outsiders. Not to mention hostile.
Seth's games seems to have no regard for tournament rules and procedures and no concern for customer satisfaction. There was nothing about the experience that made us feel welcome or appreciated as customers who just spent $200 in the store. No one in my group of 8 will return to seth's for any reason ever again.

Business Response:

Amy I am sorry you and your friends had a bad time, That was definately not our intent. The format of the event, rounds played, and prizes given were mandated by Wizards. They also realized that 70 players in one event was a bit too much and have since then made changes so that stores have more events each pre release and usually draw 30-40 players per event rather than 70+ At your event Wizards had made a mistake and not sent us the alloted promo cards for each participant, that was unfortunate, Since than we have not had that problem. I do hope that you give us a try again in the future, and if problems arise let me know and I will do my best to help Thanks --Seth

This is by far the best place I know in the area for anyone interested in playing Magic, Warhammer/40k, D&D, ect. (especially Magic). As far as Magic they have better prices than a lot of other comic shops i've been to and a good selection of singles as well. If your looking to play Magic chances are there's someone else in there looking for the same.
tl;dr: Great place for MTG, overall good comic shop, as cheap as your going to find anywhere not on the internet.

They have some really great animation games. I would recommend this to anyone who loves animation, toys, games, and they have video rentals. The place is not that big so it's like a little cramped. But the quality of stuff they can provide will probably make you happy if you are a fan. Step inside and check out everything and prices are low.
