WOW!!! I can't believe all the negative reviews. I had absolutely no problems here. Parking can be congested at night, but there is always parking somewhere. I was never unable to find parking and during the day it's wide open! My apartment was fine and I loved the location. Central location for CSUF, shopping, Brea Mall, Downtown Fullerton, etc etc etc. I'd go back if I didn't buy a house :)

The assembling of a class action law suit is in the process. If there are any victims who's deposit was retained for frivolous repairs or expenses, please notify Arnelmustbepunished, at gmail.com. Make sure to leave your name, daytime phone number, the name of the community in which you resided, and if possible, whether or not you requested a pre-moveout inspection, prior to vacating the premises. The will only stop their behavior when it costs them so much in penalties that it is no longer profitable. Take the initiative, you've already lost your deposit, but stand to gain it back, possibly more, plus the sweet taste of justice. It is all up to you.

This place is terrible. The actual living accommodations are over priced. But what is truely terrible is the management. They forget appointments, cheat you out of your money and are NEVER actually working or around to help you. After leaving The Homesteads, they tried to charge my roommate and I an extra months rent ( past our signed contract 6- month lease) and would not give us back our deposit even though on our move-out day they said we could get it back. When we tried to call them to talk about it, they would not answer and when they finally did they hung up on us. They already had one law suite against them for fraudulent behavior and cheating people out of their money. Do NOT move here...it's not worth it. Also, their maintenance people are very inappropriate when they come to fix a work order. Very unprofessional! I would give this place NO stars if I could!

DO NOT MOVE IN HERE
I have live here for almost 2 years now, the first 1year was ok. As long as you park your car in the right spot it wont get towed. My upstairs apartment had a roof leak..took management 3 times to "fix it" only to have it leak again. OK they moved us to a downstairs apartment. I renewed my contract to only regret it even more. I have 2 cars and a garage for storage, in 5 months both cars have been broken into AND my garage was broken into. This was taken to management, who has done nothing, and, from what I have heard, will not do anything due to "insurance". The community looks nice, but management stinks, security stinks, maintinance stinkss well the whole gall dern place smells bad! I would expect this in Los Angeles/South Central/Watts/Easl LA etc but not here...especially for how much I pay, I expected more.

Pros: Moving out

Cons: Everything

.

I rent a garage at the Homestead Apartments to store my belongings because I live out of state.
They took bolt cutters and broke my two personal padlocks off the garage door to supposedly conduct an annual inspection of the interior of the garage, citing authority by California Civil Code 1954. I read that code, and under existing law, a landlord may enter the dwelling unit in the following situations:
1. In case of emergency.

2. To make necessary or agreed repairs, decorations, alterations, or improvements, supply necessary or agreed services, or exhibit the dwelling unit to prospective or actual purchasers, mortgages, tenants, workmen, or contractors. Effective January 1, 2003, the landlord may also enter the premises to conduct a move-out inspection as discussed in section C below.

3. When the tenant has abandoned or surrendered the premises.

4. Pursuant to court order.

None of these issues existed. They violated my privacy, and even refuse to reimburse for the cost of new padlocks.

PROS: Convenient location for me.
CONS: Way too congested. Too many people living here. Parking inadequate.

Everything Maria said in the previous review is accurate. You don't want to move here. Poor customer service, maintence can never be found, management changes weekly...there is no parking available and if you are lucky enough to find a place to park, good luck finding your car parked there in the morning. Arnel management tows cars for NO REASON!

PROS: none
CONS: everything

This has been the most awful experience I have ever had renting an apartment. We had nothing but pain with this apartment; from tons of blackwidows everywhere to charging more for washing/drying whenever they felt like it without notice. They lack customer service skills and their management team is moved around within weeks, so you will never know who you can bring complaints and act upon them.

PROS: It is a place to live
CONS: Everything else
