To begin, I started my interaction with ??Patrice? the cashier and told her I would need two large Spicy Thai soups and a Chicken Caesar Wrap. She replied back, ??We don??t have wraps?, and looked at me as if I was stupid for not knowing this fact. As I am not an expert on the standard operating procedures for the La Bou Corporation and was curious to know why they did not have wraps, I asked, ??Why do you not have wraps? Is this a franchise?? politely. She replied - cutting me off while I was talking - again with the scorn and look as if I am the stupidest person in the world, ??We don??t have wraps. I don??t know why. What do you want??
?My experience with every chain restaurants is that there are certain standards applied to make sure the food is a consistent experience for the customer. Why is this restaurant not like that?
?And why would someone who is claiming to be superior over her knowledge of baguettes not know the answer? She must get asked at least once a day.
I looked at her after she rudely interrupted me and said, ??Excuse me, it was only a question?, and anyone could have seen by the tone of my voice and body language that my mood was rapidly declining. I finished my order and started the process to pay, handing her a gift card. She looked at me (I know this is getting to be a broken record, but with the look as if I am stupid for not knowing these things), ??We don??t take those.? I replied, ??Wow, this is turning into the worst La Bou experience I have ever had...? Any person with a modicum of customer service sense would have passed me off to a manager or at least recognized what I had said, maybe offering an apology??? She instead got even snottier, slamming my credit card receipt with attitude. Oh, and to add insult to injury, my food came to be not in the ??To Go? packaging I had requested.

Ive been a customer of this la bou since it opened over 15 years ago. Im not sure what the previous person was talking about, but the portions are always massive, and the quality is excellent.. The staff is always very nice and amiable to all their clients as well... and given that some of the staff still work there 15 years after this La Bou has opened its doors speaks volumes for the management. Who knows what was wrong with the previous poster... maybe she did arrive on an off day... or perhaps she herself was having off day... im going to believe the latter

This LaBou is the WORST! Every employee is consistently rude. No one speaks English or ever smiles. The house salad is a joke. I paid seven dollars for a salad with lettuce, tomatoes, avocado and cheese with a coke. This thing barely weighed 4 oz. Most of the container was filled with the container that held the dressing. There was barely enough lettuce to occupy the bottom of the container. I have been there many times just out of desperation for a fresh salad. I have always hoped I was there on an off day or that somehow they would get a clue about a decent portion, but today was absolutely the worst. The sad thing is that they will always be busy and get customers because West Sac lacks in decent dining. Go to the La Bou on K Street Mall. They don?t cheat their customers and they are happy to see you.

Very nice people, nice aura, clean restaurant, La Bou has it all. Its slightly pricey, but very classy and good food. The service is superb, and the food is well put together. If you are willing to spend a couple extra bucks, come here!

PROS: Food, Coffee, Baguettes!
CONS: Pricey for some, not the 99 cents meal restaurant!
