The shop was recommended by my insurance and I brought my car here to due to a hit and run (my car was just parked outside the house), the damage was on my bumper, left side back panel and rims and tires.

An adjustor (Santiago) called me the next day after dropping off my car telling me that my allignment is way off and if I didn't get it fixed, it will ruin my car. He tried to charge me more money on top of what insurance will pay accusing me that the alignment is off not due to the accident and that they would need to replace all the parts. He said he's helping me out by telling me because if he tells insurance they wont cover the charge. When I told my insurance this, the shop retracted their statement and said that not all the parts needed to be changed after all and they will just install this small device to balance the alignment and they didnt want to use OEM parts. Because I complained to my insurance, the main adjustor Neil, called me back trying to explain the misunderstanding. I was really irritated with this incident, but worked with the shop to get the necessary work done. When I picked up my car after the repair, there were grease marks on my headliner (all over the left side), a pierced hole on my driver side door panel, paint residues and mist all over my car interior, scratches on my truck lid due to an equipment they placed on top of my trunk, paint overspray on my side miror, my front bumper had a scratch because my car was parked outside and there were constructions going on, the weather stripping clips were broken, and they put this sticky material to try to hold the weather strips together so I won't notice the damage, the paint did not match and many other damages.

These damages were not present when I dropped off my car, when I brought my car back and showed an adjustor with my insurance representative present, we reviewed pictures taken before together and Santiago agreed it was not present before and that he was embarrassed of the workmanship they delivered. He agreed I could take my car somewhere else to be fixed because I didn't trust the shop anymore. When I brought my car to Smythe Collision, the main adjustor (Neil, which my adjustor in the first place but was MIA) at Akins denied all the above damages they did to my car and gave me a very hard time with getting my car fixed. It took more than a week for my car repair to be done at Akins, and another 2+ months at Smythe because Akins would not agree on the damages they made on my car, which added extra stress on me. Getting your car hit was already enough stress on someone but to have a shop that tries to play games with you and point fingers just added more stress. I would NEVER recommend this shop to anyone because this was a horrible NIGHTMARE I had to go through and would not wish on anyone else. I was out of my own car for almost 3 months.

Akins does not care custome?s car. Their repair may cause you more damages. And they are not honest. If you love your car, never use this body shop.
I was very unhappy about the repair on my Honda CRV as they made a lot of scratches on it. When I showed them, Mike even claimed the scratches might already exist and the person who did walk around inspection might not catch the scratches (so many, and some are deep and long. It is impossible that the person did not see it). I told him I had a copy of walk around inspection. Then, he called a technician who did the car came out, the technician admit he did it. They tried to wipe the scratches with some solvent. Some surface scratches are gone. Some are still there. Then they kept saying these are pre-existed. It is a totally lie. I wiped my car and took photos before sent to this body shop. I know every inch on my car. I requested a copy of walk around inspection. There were no scratches there.

They told me at 1:10pm that my car were targeted to be pick up at 5:30pm which is already dark and rush since rental car closed at 6pm. I told them I will not pick the car at dark and I only pick it up the car at day light so I can inspect my car. Then, at 1:53pm, I was told my car was ready to pick up. I suspect they knew the scratches they made, tried to let me pick up the car at dark so I could not see it.

It also suspected that they did not use plastic bag cover the car (although they charged in the work done and estimate) when painting. I see white paint dust everywhere in my car, front hood, side windows, window shield, etc. When my 94 Toyota was hited by somebody in 2000, it came out shine and looked brand new from a body shop in Vancouver, Washington, Not this case in Akins. Be aware this body shop.

Pros: Repair is on time as estimate

Cons: Poor repair and made a lots of scratches and poor service

I was pleased with the work and the customer service and throuroghness. My front bumper was replaced and matched my paint perfectly and i had no trouble with insurance billling. i would definitely use them again.

We went there to get our Honda Accord repaired that had been rearended badly. The staff was corteous and we were treated nicely. The estimates were good and timely. After the work was approved by our insurance company, it was done and completed in a professional manner. Some honda and som after-market parts were used, but we were told about everything in advance. No surprises. The trunk was damaged badly, but you cannot tell that by looking at it. The paint job was also done right. We were satisfied.

One other goos this that there is a car rental company just next to it, so if you want to rent a loaner, it is very convenient.
