Been a customer with thorson for some years If someone were to ask how i rate there service,.................I would say what you mean ..what service.... thorson needs a to be reducated on customer service which they happen to fail on to me they could take some notes from glendale dealer ship now they are the example of over and beyond awsome customer service. I would refer anyone to glendale and its ways from were i live but i would make that drive just because they know how to treat a customer from the minute you pull up and leave. Now thorson should be shut down and be re-staffed If you take that chance doing business with them to get your car service.....Don't......unless you want a mickey mouse job and risk your life onthe road they did a por job installing my engine and bolts were loose on my wheels and waste my time bringing my car back not once or twice then had the nerve to justfiy there mistakes which could of cost my life releasing unsafe car and the service advisor vence taking up for auto tech who worked on my car then when i took this matter up with higher authority tom who is the president try to justify there mistakes by telling me oh well we all make mistakes understand that making more then two trips to the dealer to get a majior part like a engine fix among other things along with poor customer service how im suppost to deal with that at that point and my car still not fix.........so when you tell a customer oh well we make mistakes Oooooh you just dont know .................Any how like i said.......DONT><

I'd go with one service advisor ONLY. Juan Corona. He's nice, respectful, and conscientious. Unfortunately I have not been impressed by the service technicians. It takes 2 visits on average to get the one problem fixed, but at least Juan will keep working with you to get it fixed.

I went in for some Saturn warranty work. Joe the service writer must have been absent the day GM came by to clean house to sweep away hindrances to their recovery.\n\nHow do I know? Because Joe is still there.\n\nHe left a distinct first impression of Thorson, and it was not good.\n\nHe turned away a potential service customer by arguing about the 3/36 factory warranty.\n\nGM global assist showed that the 3/36 warranty had expired 5 days prior. But, I told him that the car was still under warranty because he had not considered the days the unit was out of service for previous repairs.\n\n(The warranty is extended by the number of whole days the unit was previously in for warranty repair).\n\nNot only did he lose what is practically a blank check from GM to take care of all Saturn warranty repairs, he turned away potential CP (customer pay) business.\n\nWith people like Joe being the first face a customer encounters, no wonder GM got into trouble. Gm is good; Thorson sux.\n\nJoe's probably been there 30 years; umm, that would make it about 1980, the beginning of the end for the old GM. The calendar is now 2011- learn updated customer services skills, please. Leave the abrasiveness to the body shop sanders.\n\nBy the way, it was all 15A work, and I knew the likelihood of a Buick dealer having Saturn-specific parts was low. So I asked him to open the R/O, get the special parts order done, and allow me to come back when the parts are in. HE WANTED TO KEEP MY CAR!\n\nI told him that was fine, but that would turn the repair into an overnight repair, and then he must provide a rental car under 3/36.\n\nThe warranty work was for: broken headphones (GM entertainment system), rear trunk lid gas springs weak, trunk striker gasket torn.\n\nHe could have easily seized the warranty work by having his 15A man quickly verify headphones broken (snapped), trunk lid drops, and gasket torn with a 5-minute visual inspection...no complicated diagnosis needed. The 15A man could order the parts later, I didn't care.\n\nI've been out of the biz for a while, but it seems I know more about GM warranty work than Grandpa Joe. Even if I don't know everything, I know enough to see $$$$ from GM for quite menial, no-risk, low-tech warranty work. He should have participated in helping me find even other items to be fixed for the final time under 3/36.

Beware, they will waste your time and money. Incompetent Service Advisors and technicians. Very unprofessional and worst of all, the service advisor that helped me is a liar.. I live in Pasadena and will never take my GMC their again, 4 trips and they could not solve the problem. I Took the vehicle to Cerritos GMC (30 miles drive from pasadena each way), they fixed it the same day.

We ignored all negative reviews and went anyway for a test drive at Thorson in Pasadena. So glad we did! The experience couldn't have been better nor more of a pleasant surprise. We were first very interested in a new car, then changed our minds and decided on a used car, at least $10K less. The salesman, Jeff Purcell, was just as accommodating, showing no disappointment nor frustration with the sudden switch. And we took up several hours of his time. The head of the used sales car department was called in and fulfilled our every request, including a print out of a history. The financial person handling all the considerable paperwork, since we traded in a car to purchase the used car, did so with courtesy and professionalism. He gave us a card to phone back with any questions. After 6p on a Sunday, a question turned up, so we phoned. He was with other clients so was unavailable, but returned our call within a half hour. Service doesn't get better than that.

The experience I had with Thorson Motor was terrible. The salesperson who handles commercial vehicles Michael Garringer was trying to give an Ok service but after closing the sale he started acting helpless to keep the promises. Long story short Thorson failed to deliver what they charged me for. It took me two month to get my money back. Waste of time. Terrible customer service. Never again I will go there.

We spoke to a sales rep on the phone who was very helpful which encouraged us to go to Thorson. We were met with Michael at the lot, who was unfriendly, unhelpful with a "don't bother me" attitude. Disappointed we bought a car from Bunning instead after wasting an 1.5 hours at Thorson.

When our G M pickup conked out on the 405 in Long Beach, the dealer had a tow truck pick it up and fixed the problem which was still under warranty. Another time we took our truck to a local dealer for a routine maintenance job and we were quoted nearly $2000.-- to fix it. Thorson sent a tow truck and took the pickup back to Pasadena where it was fixed for about $300.00. Thorson is the BEST!!!

We took our vehicle into the Thorson dealership for routine maintenance prior to a trip. This was a well-maintained \r\n\r\nvehicle with about 80,00 miles. Their original estimate was a reasonable few hundred dollars. During the day, the \r\n\r\ndealer called us multiple times - each time raising the cost of repairs. Eventually the cost escalated to almost \r\n\r\n$3000. No arguing or questioning - we just told them to go ahead and make the repairs. \r\n\r\nWhen we picked the vehicle up, we noticed the driver's door creaking when opening and closing, but as we had to \r\n\r\nleave for the trip in morning, didn't inform the dealer at that point. On the trip the door got worse - it literally sounded \r\n\r\nlike it was going to fall off. We also noticed the accelerator would make a clicking sound each time you pushed \r\n\r\ndown or let up on it and there was rattling coming from under the dash. \r\n\r\nNone of these problems were occurring prior to our taking our vehicle to Thorson, so when we returned from the trip, \r\n\r\nwe took it back to Thorson to have it checked. Thorson called us later in the day to inform us that they were not \r\n\r\nresponsible for any of these problems, because they didn't do work in any of these areas. It appeared to them that \r\n\r\nthis was just normal wear and tear. They said it was unfortunate that these problem occurred at the same time they \r\n\r\nworked on the vehicle, although for a few hundred dollars more, they would be very happy to correct our problems.\r\n\r\nMy advice regarding Thorson Motors: Caveat emptor - ""Let the buyer beware.""

They would not listen to the issues I had with my new Denali, gave it back to me saying the squealing brakes and slipping transmission were "normal". Maybe that is why GMC is going under!

Everytime I go to Thorson Motor Center I always have to take my car back because there is something else wrong with it or something was installed incorrectly or improperly. I only continue to take my car back because it is under warantee. I will never buy a Pontiac again! Every tiny thing I need to get repaired there takes all day to accomplish. You can never wait for your car to be done because every issue takes the entire day. What a waste of time!

Everyone always says, "stay away from the dealer, they are too expensive." I was put into a situation whewe I was "stuck" into useing a local dealer. Well, let me be brief, with the experience that I had at Thorson's, I WILL NEVER AGAIN use an "independant" dealer. The product knowlege that these people have is awe-inspiring. The mechanic that was working on my truck took the time to show me just what was wrong with my brakes, and then went on th repair, not only my origional complaint, but managed to fix a few other minor glitches that were caused by other repairs AT NO EXTRA charge to me. My G.M. Dealer WILL BE my only source for my automotive needs.

PROS: Excellent Product Knowlege
CONS: Open Saturday

At first we liked how they were trying to meet our needs, but when they did not have what we wanted they did not want to take "No" for an answer. They pestered us with phone calls and tried to make us feel badly for turning them down. They do not seem to know about good customer service.

PROS: a variety of cars at reasonable prices
CONS: rude, pushy

This is a good dealer (as far as dealers go). I have had good experiences so far. The service department seems fairly honest. I have had hardly any problems with the car I purchased through Thorson, and I continue to have it serviced at the dealer.
