The Cat Doctor

I've had nothing but good experiences with the Cat Doctor. I've been able to make appointments without unreasonable delays and to get in the same day when there's a serious problem.

I've seen Dr. Julie more than Dr. McFarland, and i like Dr. Julie very much. The gentleness with my cats is great and the thoroughness of the physicals is really appreciated. Taking the cats to the Vet is always traumatic for them, but the staff at the Cat Doctor minimizes the trauma as much as they can.

The Dr. who see's my cat always call to follow up if testing was done or if there was any procedures that veyr serious to make sure that the cats are okay and recovering well. I've also gotten good practical advice on trating things like hairballs (feeding the cats unspiced pureed pumpkin) that has worked out feel.

The fees are reasonable compared to other vets I have seen and there hasn't been any major attempt to get me to pay for unnecessary services or produts.

PROS: Good vet, easy to get in for an appt. friendly staff
CONS:

Dr. McFarland just sees cats, so she really knows her feline patients very well. When one of my dear cats began to suffer from kidney failure, she and her staff helped ease his discomfort and improve his quality of life. When after several years of treatment, my cat finally was too frail to travel to her office, she even made a house-call. And when at last my cat passed away, she was extremely kind and treated my cat like the family member that he had been to me. She even directed me to a pet-crematorium that would treat the remains with dignity. Dr. McFarland has an excellent heart.
