Disappointing Experience  1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

This is near our gym and we thought it looked like a nice hospital, but had such a bad experience that we would never consider going back.

Cons:
- Made us wait 25 minutes for our appointment and we even came in early to fill out any paperwork. They did not tell us how long we would have to wait.
- Switched vets on us when we arrived and the front desk claimed that they left us a voice mail letting us know of the change to another vet we would have not requested ourselves. (We have caller ID and no such message or record of a phone call was left as they claimed.)
- The vet techs spent more time with us than the vet did who also did not do a full examination as expected. (The subsequent vet we went to at another practice was far more thorough.)
- The vet gave medications to us without telling us what other alternatives were available.
- We asked what the estimates would be in advance and again on the day of and when we came out paying 5x what we were originally told. The vet did not explain any of the extra charges so we had to deal with the reception staff instead when they gave us the unexpected bill.

Pros:
- The vet techs were very nice and helpful. That was the only good thing.

Overall: Not recommended.

The Best.  5 Star Rating - World class

Bishop Ranch has been nothing but great for my dog. Not only have I been able to get an appointment one hour after I call for an appointment, but all the doctors have collaborated on what would be the best way to treat my dog. When I first moved to the area, many people recommended this place and I can see why. If your pet does get sick, you will be very happy to have the best doctors working on your side!

Thank you...EVERYONE  5 Star Rating - World class

From the warm welcome at the front desk to the caring boarding staff, techs and especially the Vets who took care of my silly, nervous Golden; treated her with love and kindness; took care of her problems a big sloppy kiss from Susii and many thank yous from me....

Customer  4 Star Rating - Very good

I am very happy with Bishop Ranch Veterinary Center. The staff is very friendly and I feel really good about bringing our cat Peaches and leaving her in their care. Whether it be for treatment or boarding.

You can tell the doctors and the rest of the staff have a real love for the animals and are good at what they do.

We will definately always trust Bishop Ranch Veterinary Center with the care of our cat now and any new animals we will add to the family in the future.

Sincerely,
Gina Daoust

At triple the normal cost  1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

The BRVC prices are way out of line. If you want to be stupid and just pay and pay and pay, this Vet is your choice.

I took my dog in last month after she was acting a little weird, like she had some pain. The diagnosis (based on an x-ray alone) was an undefined spleen problem, which 3 different Vets have subsequently said is impossible to diagnose through x-rays.

Today when I took my dog for a Rabies booster shot to renew her Dog License they refused to vaccinate her unless I approved more spleen tests, stating they couldn't vaccinate the dog with first performing these tests. It took two 17 year old kennel cleaners to explain the logic behind this, no DVM was present... and I'm still waiting for a coherent explanation.... Total BS.

This is a 10 YO dog that's happy and healthy, and besides the one day issue last month appears to be in perfect health...

I can't help but believe that BRVC is just digging for gold (out of my wallet).

No problem though, PETCO has really inexpensive vaccination clinics most Saturdays and Sundays, and BRVC will be seeing me (and my 2 dogs and 2 cats) a lot less after this episode...

It is all in the Dr!  4 Star Rating - Very good

I've seen some negative remarks here and read them in wonderment. When I first got my dog I "tried" out a number of vets in the area. Some because of emergencies and some just to see. I can tell you unequivocally that Bishop Ranch is the Best! Just like any other medical care it is both in the quality of the facility and staff as well as the trust and belief you have in your Dr. I willingly pay the marginally higher fees knowing that my dog is getting the best of care. I wouldn't do less for one of my human family members nor will I for my dog (he thinks he is human anyway).

I won't take my dogs anywhere else...  5 Star Rating - World class

My first experience with Bishop Ranch was when my German Shepherd was hit by a car. My regular vet (the vet I had been taking my pets to since I was a child) was closed due to the late hour. When we pulled up, they were waiting outside for me and took my dog immediately into the back. Over the next two days, the doctor called me regularly for updates, exactly at the time she promised. She left detailed voice mails if I did not pick up. I am extremely impressed with the care my dog received, the professionalism of the entire staff, and the communication. I never returned to my regular vet.

Don't Go Here  1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

The doctors spent no more than 5 minutes with my pet and charged an outrageous fee for what was supposed to be a 30 minute appointment. It didn't seem like they cared at all. I was very disappointed and I would not recommend anyone to go here.

Convenient But Disappointing  2 Star Rating - Wouldn't recommend

The technicians are great at handling the pets but the doctor we had hardly touched or examined our pet. After numerous visits, x-rays and drugs, the doctor was not able to say what is wrong or that the radiologist doesn't think anything is wrong. Then why is our pet sick? We gave up. The wait is pretty long. You can expect to spend at least 3-4 hours there. The time spent with the doctor is about 5 minutes or so. Facility is clean and the front desk staff are wonderful. Hours are convenient but wish there was more experienced doctors.

Great Medical Care -- Bar None  5 Star Rating - World class

I had my dog at various vet clinics and non detected that my dog had addisons disease. Not only did the vets at Bishop detect this disease, but they saved my dog's life.

This hospital might be larger than most in the area (or, corporate as others have stated), but the quality of medical care far surpasses any other veterinary hospital I have been to and I have owned dogs all my life.I wouldn't go anywhere else and certainly will not return to my previous vet.

If you're looking for top-quality vet care...don't go anywhere else. And, boy, are their hours convenient.

A Bad Experience...  2 Star Rating - Wouldn't recommend

I agree with another poster and believe that this veterinary hospital is very corporate. I was disappointed with the care, or lack of care, that we experienced.

The BEST place to take your pet  5 Star Rating - World class

Not only does Bishop Ranch Veterinary Center have the highest-quality medical care, they have the best doctors I have ever come across. I've been taking my pets to them for years and I have never had a bad experience. They have late hours for emergencies and are open 7 days -- so when my dog hurt her eye on a Sunday, they got me right in. They are able to do so much at their facility and have technology that most vet hospitals only dream of having. I wouldn't take my pets or let my family take their pets anywhere else.

Not for cats  2 Star Rating - Wouldn't recommend

I've only been twice since moving here and both times the waiting room has been loud and noisy. The first time a sick dog came in and shat on the floor and the staff walked by it repeatedly until someone made a comment. The second time they couldn't find my cats' history even though they had xeroxed the records from my previous vet only two weeks earlier. Prices for both exams and prescriptions are significantly higher than other vets in the area. Very corporate.

A great place to get care for your animals  4 Star Rating - Very good

I have taken my dogs here for years and so do other members of my family. They have provided excellent care for my dogs and all of their Dr's are knowlegable and friendly.
