My friend Y bought a used car a few weeks ago. I referred her to Friendly Auto to have transmission oil checked. I used the place several times in the past and it seemed an OK place. Y said that she heard some bad comments about Friendly Auto from other friends. But she went to Friendly Auto anyway because I said it was pretty good and it??s close to her apartment.

When she got there, the owner said that transmission oil was very dirty and needed to be replaced. He also mentioned that water pump was leaking and asked Y if she wanted to have it fixed. Y told him to do both. Then Paul gave her estimated price of $214. Everything went very well so far.

My friend went back to the shop 2 hours later and paid with her ATM card. Still so far so good.

A few weeks later when my friend received her bank statement, she was surprised to find that Friendly Auto charged her $264 instead of $214. She showed me the receipt from Friendly Auto. Obviously $214 was put in the subtotal area. But it was crossed out and $254 was put above it ($254 + $10 tax = $264). The owner didn??t even mention this change to Y and she thought she paid the estimated price of $214.

She went to the shop again and talked to the owner. Now the owner said the extra $40 was for replacing transmission oil. What???? She went there for transmission oil and the estimated price didn??t even include that part? I don??t believe it. Even if it is true (maybe the owner made a mistake when giving estimate), why didn??t the owner call Y to inform her about the price difference when he changed $214 to $254 in the receipt? Again why didn??t the owner mention this change to Y when she paid with her ATM card? The owner said he was sorry he didn??t tell Y about the price change (isn??t that something he should have done?). Changing price without telling the customer, isn??t that a fraud? Anyway, the owner refused to refund her the price difference but offered to do a free oil change for her. My friend refused the offer because she doesn??t want to do any business with Friendly Auto in the future even it??s free.

I would recommend that pay attention to the estimated price. Otherwise be ready for the 20% ??bonus?.

This place was great to me. They were friendly and didn't want to rip me off just because I am a woman. They didn't act as though I was a complete fool like others have. The price was fair and the job was done quickly. Their prices were lower than other places I had checked. I was quoted a price and that is what I paid when the job was done. My vehicle runs better than it has in a while. i will definitely return if I ever need them again and I will recommend their services to my friends.

PROS: fast service

If there's is something wrong with our family's car, this is the first place we bring it to.

it is higly affortable. (I have not pay more than $500 for car service, since we start doing business with them)

tire rotation was less than $20.
recently I had to replace my brake fliud and pad, and it only cost $130 (that's with tax), and it only take them three hours to fix.

Great service

PROS: super fast service
CONS: busy schedule on the weekend
