Val Surf

Though this store is nowhere near the beach, I still go there to get my equipmets! They offer like boards, gears , and accessories (footwear, sunglasses...) at very cheap prices. They are way much cheaper than those stores around the beach. Parking is easy, and staff is helpful since I didn't know much about surfing.

I used to live at the beach and whenever I need a fix of surf culture, I head out to Val Surf. Located in North Hollywood, it's kind of a funny location for a surf shop, but I'm glad I found it.

This place has a great selection of boards and a knowledgeable staff that will help pro or novice find a good fit. If you are not a real surf Betty, but you just want to look the part they also stock lots of Zoo York and other beach-related gear to help you pose at the Pier.

You'll also find that since their overhead is lower in the valley, the prices here are significantly lower than other beachside surf shops.

Bottomline: Get your shorts and boards here, then head to Santa Monica for the surf.

I had to rent some snowboarding boots and found Val Surf to be not only cheap but also convinient because it was right in Old Town Pasadena. The staff helped me find what I needed and I was in and out really quick. Unfortunately, snowboarding gear is a bit overpriced though so if you're looking to buy gear I would go somewhere else.

PROS: Cheap rates for renting snowboard gear
CONS: Expensive to buy gear

This is a fun store with surfer, snowboarder, etc. clothing. Also carry children's clothing. Wide selection of shoes too, especially Uggs which are popular right now.

The Store to be at for surfing, skiing, or just sports wear. I find my much coveted Uggs there at their Pasadena store. Tall black REAL Uggs for under $130.00. THey have tall, short and a variety of colors. Never would have thought of looking for Uggs here but was recommended by someone. Return policy is great. Full refund on merchandise in a week. NIce selection of cool wear for teens. Whold department on surfboards. Cowabunga!!!
