If i could give this restaurant have NEGATIVE stars, I would. My oldest sister and I (who are Asian) went with a Caucasian couple and their baby. We waited for about 15 minutes before we could get to that empty table that was empty since we got there. Then, we were finally sat down. We had to grab the baby seat on our own because I guessed they thought the baby would float in the air or something. THE ABSOLUTE WORST PART: WE WERE NEVER SERVED...NOT EVEN WATER!! AND AFTER 20 MINUTES, WE LEFT DUE TO NO WAITER OR WAITRESS BEING EXISTENT. PS there were about 6 waiters/waitresses chilling in the corner staring around.

Legendary Palace is a great place to bring a group of friends. I've only been here 3 times, but the dim sum is always good each time. Always try to sit on the 2nd floor-- there are more carts so you get more variety, and they come around more often.

I often go to Legendary Palace with a large group of friends and have a long dim sum feast. The food is good and the crowded, bustling atmosphere makes me feel so excited and happy. It is definitely a very noisy place and the wait gets quite long on weekends, but I enjoy it nonetheless!

It's always way too noisy and crowded, and usually not with Chinese regulars, which definitely says something. The decorations are beautiful, but it's like they're trying to fit too many tables into the room; it's way too cramped to enjoy yourself. The dim sum is decent and moderately priced, but there are definitely other places you can go for a better experience.

Worst DIm Sum we have ever eaten. Steamed selections wraps were so thick, had to eat carefully so as not so choke. Fillings with little flavor...had to soak in soy and hot pepper for taste. Fried selection greasy. Service terrible. Had to find somebody for tea, then steal cups from another table. None of the waitresses could speak English and were not helpful in even showing the dish. This was Saturday and the place was crowded but plenty of service people about. Only place in many years where the service was as bad as the food and we left no tip.

I think this place is good for dim sum and is not too expensice but definitely not cheap, I would consider this to be moderate price ( middle class).
They have good shrimp dumplings and chow fun. It is usually not too busy. If it is prime time, you may have to wait maybe half hour or fourty five minutes at most. If you were to go to this place for dinner it is a rip off. They overcharge and do not provide good quality of food. So remember if you want to go to a decent place with acceptable food come here.

The food at this restaurant is extremely high quality, while the decoration is beautiful as they have just remodeled it. The waiters and the managers are very nice people, and they always try to befriend you. I dont suspect its for more tips, but I think its because they like to make your meal there more enjoyable.

There are high class seafood available, but also the typical good chinese food. Here, expect something way better than your local Panda Express. Dont order lemon chicken or kung pao chicken here, its a waste of your time at a restaurant like this. Try the honey walnut shrimp, or the salt and pepper ribs, and you'll be very satisfied. Their dessert is great too, try the mango pudding.

If you go here for either lunch or dinner, expect to find the highest quality chinese food in Oakland Chinatown. The other restaurants are simply too slow in service, lower food taste, or rediculous pricing.

No joke kids, that's on the menu. As is "Glutinous Rice Puff," "Jerryfish and Preserved Radish with Beef Steak," and "Sea Cucumber with Fish Maw." Fish Maw is definitely for the adventurous, and priced at $26, the high rollers. "Regular" dishes like kung pao or lemon chicken were pretty average and depending on your disposition, the many tanks of live sea creatures can be offputting. But you're kind of in a palace and the person at the table next to you could be eating fish maw, so it makes for a good story to tell your friends.

I have been to this restaurant twice - both times on a very busy weekend for lunch. They don't take reservations. The wait for a table averages about 20 - 30 minutes (or more) depending on the size of your party. I really enjoy the food, but service can be spotty. There are only a few servers who speak English. I even had a diffcult time asking for a Coke. I believe one of the reasons the wait can be so long is because they don't refresh the carts as the food gets cold. For people who insist on hot food, they have to wait for the carts to be refreshed with the hot plates right from the kitchen which slows down the turnover at the tables.

Pros: good food, reasonable prices

Cons: long wait for table, spotty service
