I've been coming to Ryowa for about 6 years now and it's still just as good as the first time! I usually order the Ryowa ramen. It has a really tasty sesame and miso soup base that's full of flavor! The portions are pretty big, too, so I always leave with a full stomach!

My dad recommended Ryowa to me last week and I tried it out right away! It is conveniently located by the UC-Berkeley campus on University Ave. Though this place seems like the perfect student restaurant serving Ramen and open until 11PM, it is relatively expensive for ramen on a student budget, about $10/person. Despite the high cost for ramen, the soup base was very flavorful, the noodles perfectly cooked and it was topped with vegetables, pork and an egg. The gyoza was also very good. Street parking, fast service, comfortable atmosphere and good portion size.

Like the other user has said, this place is about the same as the one in Mountain View. The decor inside is average, but the food is pretty good. I like the noodles and their selections are simple enough for a good dinner, and you definitely get a good enough bang for your buck. Give it a shot, you'll be happy.

This location is just like the one in Mountain View, however, i feel that their fried chiken is much better. They seem to give larger portions also. But anyways, this restaurant is pretty good. Read my review for the other Ryowa. Oh, they also serve Japanese tea and really good kimchee for free.

This restaurant puts out quite simply the tastiest ramen this side of the Bay. The pork-based broth is sumptuous; go for the "ryowa special" for a very unique tasting soup with qualities which fulfill the palette. While the noodles can be a bit tough, a simple request for softer noodles is well heeded by the staff. Side dishes such as cha-an (fried rice) are not bad either.
