Ventura Beach Rv Resort is horrid

by Patti G.

This was quite honestly one of the worst places I have ever stayed at. Homeless people walking into my campsite not to mention drunk campers. Manager did not care one bit. sherri was rude not to mention making some racial comments about some of the guests. never returning.

Ventura Beach Rv Resort is great!

by Lisa K.

We were there for the weekend during the Ventura County Fair. Even though the park was full to capacity and we arrived late at night we had no problems with check in or getting settled - security was available to help us get a car moved who was blocking our space even though it was 10:00PM. Very clean, very well maintained - lots for kids to do and just a short walk from a beautiful and seldom used beach! We're going back!

Ventura Beach Rv Resort is some what family friendly

by Debra J.

i think the resort is wonderful and very clean and green. The maintainence staff was excellent. the younger employees were extremely helpful and energetic and kept the mood lively. The elder employees were a bit more rude and uptight. But the manager, she was very nice as well. One of the employees i think her name was Sherry, she was mean and rude to some of the paying customers. And their Sunday Breakfast was to die for. And their Chefs were stunning in their little outfits. So my over all stay was good

A great time

by Jeff S.

Went to the park over the fourth of July weekend. Very busy but close to downtown and to the beach. Movie night, karaoke and a live band made this a great stay. You must stop in on Sunday and have the breakfast. lots of food small price. Outside vendor a taco carte absolutely delicious. I would recommend highly. Only flaw was the staff a little rude at times. Cheri was just plain mean and rude. Ask for the manager if you have any problems she is very nice. Maintenance was wonderful not to mention good looking

Noisy campground

by Georgia W.

This is a nice looking, clean campground in a bad location. Its located at the base of the freeway and is very, very, noisy.
The view on the west side of the camp is the freeway traffic. We camped there in a 38 ft fifth wheel and our fee was $66.00 a night, plus an additional $8.00 a night for our 2 dogs, plus tax. This the most expensive place I have ever camped. We asked about having guests over for an evening and the fee for that was $5.00 a car plus $3.00 for each person-- kind of outrageous. The campground is fenced on the side next to the freeway, but does not have a fence running the entire length of the side next to West Main St, a busy street. Makes me wonder about their concerns for child safety and anyone could come into the camp at night. For all the above reasons, I will not stay there again.

noisy but it grows on you

by perry c.

This RV park is nestled between the major Ventura freeway and the main street of town as your leaving town.
At first I thought I would never sleep, but by the second day the noise was kind of easy to ignore. it grows on you.
It is a close walk to down-town old ventura and a 15 minute walk to a great beach, very private. the beach is actually on the other side of the freeway but you go under the bridge and your on the beach. Lots of joggers , walkers, dog walkers on street, that runs along the park, which is open to camp ground.
PEOPLE CAN WALK RIGHT INTO CAMP GROUND FROM STREET.
Facilities are good, price was double that stated in book
over 60.00 per night on prime season w hookups.
Saturday night they have a fun outside karaoke night in summer. next to big fire pit.
not too bad, I would go back.

a day at the beach

by Anonymous

our family stayed 5 days in a travel trailer. quite nice and very clean. great bike paths. enjoyed the beach, although it is a longer walk than they suggest. there is no cable. general store staff was not too friendly. the soft serve ice cream is popular, but there was a very limited selection of food items, bottled water, and virtually no wine (oh no) in an emporium of beer and t-shirts. unfortunately, you cannot reserve a specific campsite. after making our reservations three months in advance of our visit, we were "assigned" the end space at the check-in driveway. traffic was nonstop. such sites are better suited for overniters. we would like to visit again, but instead we now chose nearby lake casitas for our spring vacation, where we have reserved a specific campsite we know we will enjoy.

Campground

by Linda S. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 536

This is a very nice campground. It Is very close to several thrift ,antique , grocery stores and restaurants. It is located in the old part of Ventura. Also close to the Mission, city hall and the museum. Each Camp site is paved and has a nice grassy area with a picnic table , swimming pool , spa, showers and a club house. Campground also has complete hook ups at each site and security.

PROS: Close to beach
CONS: Alittle freeway noise

Very nice, but noisy

by Sally C. | insider Insider | Rank: 13,259

The park is very nice, with lots of amenities. Little grassy yards for each camper. A laundry, a great little store with cute sweats and tee-shirts for sale.

The thing you might not get from the website is that it's not right on the beach. The 101 freeway runs between the campsites and the ocean. Tent campers are put right below the freeway. It's pretty noisey, but we kept the fan on in our RV and it sort of evened it out.

It's a bit of a walk to the beach, but all-in-all a good way to be able to visit the charming town of Ventura and have a space reserved for your RV.

PROS: Close to downtown Ventura and local beaches
CONS: Noise, a bit cramped
